Ch: 4 Separate

~Yuri~

"Argh!" The bed was too soft. The room was too silent. There was no way I was going to be able to sleep tonight. I sat up. The round bed was directly in the middle of the room. It was up high, but that didn't help me much.

I can't believe Miri requested to have her own room, how could she abandon me like that? There is no chance I'm going to be able to sleep without her in the room with me. I couldn't decide what to do with myself. Out of rage I yelled while throwing my pillow at the wall. " …. That didn't help much" Still not knowing what to do with myself I got up out of bed and quietly left the room, trying to figure out something to do to help me sleep.

I wound up lost in the house. This place is so big, like a maze. No wonder they were alright hosting exchange students. It's so big there isn't much chance of running into anyone. It would be like we aren't even here. Eventually I found one of the living room like areas with a light on. I wondered in hoping there would be someone there who could help me find my way back to my room.

It was Kyoya, on his computer, typing as always. "Do you always stay up so late?"

"Usually, yes" Kyoya answered, though he didn't even turn to look at me.

I sat down on the couch next to Kyoya. "What are you doing?" He didn't answer me. I pulled my knees up to my chest. I guess he doesn't like me. Soon Kyoya glanced over at me.

"Would you like something to drink? Warm milk perhaps." So maybe he did care about me. I don't know, its hard to tel with Kyoya. I nodded to answer him. Kyoya set aside his computer, stood up, and left the room towards the kitchen. He returned probably about five minutes later, carrying two fancy glasses of white liquid. He handed one to me.

The milk was perfectly heated, probably by a maid. Maybe he had to wake her up to get this for us, oh well, that's her job. I was thankful to have the drink. We drank in silence, awkward silence.

When we finished with our drinks Kyoya left the glasses on the coffee table. He stood and held out his hand to me, "Ready for bed?" He said this with the most handsome of smiles. I couldn't help myself from it, I kissed him.

He stared at me in shock for a second before regaining his composure. He obviously was not pleased with what I had done. He walked away, leaving me there alone.

Then it hit me, he must like Mira, yeah, that explains why he wouldn't like me. That jerk, she always steals my guys. I decided to get pay back.

In the kitchen I found a pair of scissors. With those I snuck into her room and cut her hair. If she was going to dress like a boy she would look like a boy.

~Miri~

When I woke up my head felt lighter than usual. "What?" I pulled myself out of the bed to go to the bathroom mirror. My hair had been cut, it was now just past my ears. Because the hair was shorter the curls became tighter. "Yuri..." I sighed "Oh well, It'll grow back." Still, I was mad at her, this was uncalled for, I liked my hair being long. Then again, its easier to take care of when its short. I could get used to this.

After taking a shower I got dressed, in the boy's uniform that Kyoya had provided the other day. It was much more comfortable than the dress, and I didn't care if people thought I was weird, after all, I am weird and being weird is awesome as long as I'm being myself.

Once I was ready I met Kyoya and Yuri out at the limo to go to school. Kyoya looked at me for a second "What did you do to your hair?" Yuri was snickering out to the side. Kyoya glanced to her "Well that's not very classy." Yuri stopped snickering, did Kyoya just glare at her? What happened, he seemed to dislike her more than before? "Well, we better get going." He opened the limo door for me to get in, but instead of letting Yuri in after him he got in next to me and closed the door. Making Yuri go around to the other side.

"What was that about?" Kyoya didn't answer my question.

When we got to school Kyoya took my hand and lead me to class before going to his class. I didn't get it, he's never acted like this before. I mean, he's always been courteous, but this was the first day he treated me differently than he has Yuri, what changed?

Of course, as always the twins payed most attention to Haruhi, but they also gave atttention to Yuri. I smiled at this scene, to Yuri this would seem like three guys fawning over her, it wasn't. But she always reads way more into a guy's actions than the guys actually intend. This makes her an extremly jealous person when it comes to guys.

After class was over I decided to go to the host club, it wold be nice to spend time with Takashi. When I came up to him Takashi looked up to me and smiled "You look nice today"

Some girls seemed upset by this. I could hear them slightly "Does Takashi like this foriegner?"

"No way, she's his cousin"

"Oh, now I get it. Wait, why is she wearing a girls uniform?"

"She's American, American girls cross dress all the time"

I did my best to ignore the girls as I sat down next to Takashi.

"Hey! Miri! Want some cake!?" Honey offered

I shook my head "No, I'm not really hungry today"

Despite me saying this Takashi set a small plate in front of me and started placing the strawberries from his cake onto it. I smiled, he really does know me.
