Solas watched as Rhush tucked Revas into bed with such care and finesse, she had to of done it practically every night. Rhush kissed Revas's head and stood to look at Solas. He motioned to the balcony and she went to sit in the frame of the glass doors while he moved his favourite chair so he could face her. He went back to the piles of books that surrounded her desk and sighed at the neatness on the shelves. He picked a random book not sure if he would read and went to his chair. Rhush had gathered some materials and started knitting. His feet came to rest under her calves and they stayed like that. He wondered what it would have been like to see her pregnant. She must have been very strong in the birth. He had only seen the miracle a few times in his years. She seemed the same as before no changes really, except her eyes. They seemed to hold boundless wisdom, which he knew she had after their time together in Skyhold, even in Haven had he seen the acceptance and patience in her eyes to want to understand. He sat back admiring her.

"You're doing it again," she said quietly tossing him a look and a smirk. But he kept staring unabashed they had marked each other and he loved her. A smile grew on her face as she began to get embarrassed her cheeks tinted pink and he loved it. She looked back to him and had paused in her knitting.

"If you mind, I am trying to concentrate," Rhush held up her knitting for emphasis and a short laugh came from Solas before he looked to the book he had picked. It was one he had read before. Uninterested in the book he looked around her room noting small changes. She had moved things around and there were new boxes upstairs he was sure were knitting supplies. For all the knitting she managed to do she never really kept any pieces. She was always giving them to someone who had offered interest while she was knitting. He had grown accustomed to the sounds of the needles clicking and had often missed its company in the silence as he kept to himself in the three years he was away. They stayed like that for a few minutes before a yawn had escaped Rhush.

"Ma vhenan," He said as if a warning. She shrugged and her knitting continued. Another few seconds and she was yawning again.

"Ma vhenan, you must rest," Solas looked to her and she shook her head.

"I should be fine. I slept earlier today," Rhush yawned.

"From passing out after giving the Anchor back you must have proper rest," Solas lifted an eyebrow and she scrunched her face before movement from the bed drew their attention.

"Mamae?" was heard quietly and Rhush was swiftly to her bed in seconds bent over Revas. He had awoken.

"Mamae. Sleep," Revas patted next to him and she smiled. Her boys would always double team her she predicted.

"Alright da'fen, just a second," Rhush moved over to her assortment of clothes and started to undress. When she was in her night clothes she walked over to Solas and kissed his head.

"Good night, emma lath. You boys will always win against me," With a smile she slipped into bed next to Revas and she slept as soon as she was settled. Solas's smile was brilliant as he saw the two together and he had felt himself nodding off so he joined them on the bed. His last wakeful thought was that he wished they could be like this for a long time.

Rhush was standing in a grove littered with flowers. She looked and saw a tall lean figure start to approach her, by the hair it had to of been Revas. He joined her and they sat together on the grass. He faced away from her and she started weaving a small part of his hair together. He heard her start humming and he smiled. When she was finished he turned around and they hugged, he pulled back and let her fingers wander over his face. When she seemed satisfied she put her hands in her lap and looked at him.

"So, what do you think about him?" She raised her eyebrows with a small smile and Revas reached for a nearby flower.

"I think we've worked past the whole shock for him now," The fade dream allowed her to hear him as if he spoke in her language and she nodded slowly looking away to the horizon. She had a small frown on her face.

"Do you…do you think he'll be a good father?" She looked back to him worry in her eyes and she reached for a hand. He stopped making the garland and held her hand back squeezing a little. Rhush only wanted him to be happy and he knew that Solas would be a great mentor.

"I think that it will be a long journey between us. We have some things that do connect us that we can agree on but Mamae, you can't force anything. It has to be our journey," He looked seriously to his Mamae and she sighed. She lifted her hands smiling at him.

"Alright. I'll try not to interfere but I am curious as to what these connections are," he smiled and resumed making the garland.

"If you haven't figured out what it is maybe I shouldn't tell you," He looked quickly to her face which was open in shock and he laughed. She frowned, puffing up her cheeks and crossed her arms. Revas laughed again and Rhush joined in. When they calmed down he finished off the garland and held it up.

"For your beauty matches no other Mamae," and he placed it on her head. The blue in the flowers matched her eyes perfectly and they sparkled with almost tears, the smile she awarded him with he'd keep forever.

"Oh you sweet talker, should I be worried for the girls hearts you'll break?" He snorted and held a hand to his face covering his smile.

"Mamae, I should think that you would be worried for my heart," Her smile small, she reached out for him and she laid a hand on his heart.

"I will always worry for your heart ma da'fen. Just as I am sure I will always worry for the rest of you," They looked to each other, understanding between them. He worried about her going off and fighting. She worried for him too and he knew this. They stayed like that for a little longer before a grin stretched across Rhush's face.

"You have given me something, what should I offer in return?" He smiled back.

"The only thing I can think of as suitable repayment would be a dance," He stood up and reached for her hands to help her up. They smiled and settled into a small Orleasian dance but the longer they tried to stay serious about the bows the harder they were laughing. Dalish music seemed to play on the wind and they moved into wilder dancing. Laughing and dancing they were soon exhausted they were laying on the ground breathing. Revas looked off into the trees as if his name had been called.

"I will leave you to the rest of your dream Mamae," they had both sat up and Rhush looked a little sad but smiled at him.

"Okay da'fen. I'll see you in the morning," He reached over to hug her and then he pulled away. He slowly got up and looked to the trees. His feet started taking him in that direction and he looked back. Rhush waved and he smiled waving back before heading into the forest faster.

Rhush watched him leave and her hand reached to the garland a small sad feeling reaching her as it always did when she left him or he left her. She was being silly she knew but sometimes it was just her reaction. She smiled though she would see him as soon as she woke up. The dream started fading slowly and she was left to the blackness of sleep.

Rhush was first to wake and was glad for it as she opened her eyes to her boys sound asleep. Revas had taken a hand from her and Solas. Revas connected them on some deeper level and she loved every minute they could spend like this, as a family. Her heart was full of love and she stretched slowly. Taking a peak outside it was still night, almost dawn. Looking back to Revas she realised she didn't have supplies and started to panic before her eyes landed on her cleared desk with the essentials. She breathed out relaxing she would kiss whoever had been thoughtful enough for those. She turned back to Solas and Revas. She moved to gently kiss the top of Revas's black mop of hair. His grip on her finger slackened and she smiled.

Rhush carefully maneuvered out of the bed and changed. She then made her way to the balcony as she did every morning. Looking out she sighed, it was going to be a long day today. She was sure whatever Cassandra had planned it would involve changing the world again. They somehow always managed to. Rhush shook her head smiling. And her friends say she was the one who doesn't keep things dull. Eyes landing on the tavern, worry gripped at her. What if her friends were angry? What if they were disappointed? Maybe they wouldn't want anything to do with her and her son. Urgh what was this negative energy she wasn't a negative person. Just thinking about the bad things that could happen wouldn't make it better. She had pent up energy she guessed feeling a new type of buzzing under her skin. She needed to do something, make an outlet for the energy. Rhush hadn't felt this agitated in a while. She couldn't focus, when she tried to calm down the tingling under her skin seemed to itch. Rhush was starting to become frustrated.

"Mamae?" Revas's voice carried across the room to her. She walked back in, from the cold, over to his side. She smiled at him.

"Sorry da'fen. I….just, there's something under my skin like buzzing and I don't know what to do," Rhush shook her head how could she explain this. Revas looked so tired he wiped his eyes with his hands.

"Uncle Dorian?" was all the child could get out with a large yawn and she smiled.

"You're such a good boy ma da'fen. Do you think you can look after your father for me?" Rhush's hand reached out and she softly brushed the hair out of Revas's eyes. He nodded and turned around to go back to sleep. Rhush leaned down and kissed his head again.

"Alright da'fen I'll try not to be too long. Be safe," With that said she turned to the stairs and hurried down them. She knew Dorian would still be asleep so she made her way to the kitchens. Only some were awake, baking the bread that would be needed for the day and she smiled to all the ladies she passed. They handed her some fruit and she was grateful. She walked over to the large pots and started setting up to brew coffee.

She found him asleep on his chair a book covering his face. She smiled and walked over to him and started removing the closest stacks of books. She moved the piles carefully to his second desk and brought her seat in closer across from him.

"Dorian? Sweetie, time to wake up," She knew better then to remove the book from his face but she knew of an exceptionally ticklish spot he had. Rhush picked up his hand.

"Don't. You. Dare," Dorian's voice threatened and she dropped it smiling.

"I brought coffee," she offered as a sign of peace. He slowly sat up properly and removed the book putting it down on the desk next to him without looking. Dorian held out his hand for the coffee and she placed it carefully. He took the first sip and his grumpy face split into a grin.

"Oh you do spoil me. You made this batch yourself, you know I love it when you do that. Keep it up and we will have to get married," Dorian took another sip and relaxed into his chair they smiled at each other she had done this for him a couple of times and he insisted that she had to every morning but she wouldn't.

"Oh Dorian, I do love a good scandal. You make it sound so romantic. I just might have to accept your offer," They shared a look and after a second of silence they laughed together.

"Now would you like to tell me why I get my special treatment this morning? Even though you are a woman after my heart that I must deny constantly," Dorian raised an eyebrow at her with a smaller smile, his eyes searched her face.

"Well though I do love giving you your special treatment. Something is wrong with me there's a strange sort of buzzing under my skin. It's driving me mad. I can't focus," Dorian took another long sip and placed the mug down on top of the book. He motioned for her hands and just as they touched he whipped his hands back.

"Rhush, your hot," The surprise on his face shocked her but she raised an eyebrow.

"Thanks Dorian but that's not –"

"No your skin, It's burning," She nodded in understanding and he slowly raised a hand to her forehead. When he made contact his face showed surprise again. He reached for her hand again and then he frowned.

"Okay somethings up, based on all the surprise you're doing,"Rhush was a little worried what was going on with her.

"Well your forehead was ice cold but as soon as I had your hand your temperature evened out and now your normal," he shook his head in surprise and pulled away going for his coffee again.

"But I don't feel any different except for the buzzing," Rhush was frustrated what did this mean? Dorian seemed to be thinking but he must have had an idea because he jumped up and started rifling through his desk.

"I'm going to do something crazy, don't panic," Dorian was still digging and she became worried.

"Last time you did something crazy we got sent into the future," she said quietly.

"Oh stop being dramatic your supposed to be the optimistic one. Besides this isn't nearly as life altering as that," Rhush wanted to disagree but Dorian produced a small knife. He looked at her and to his arm considering something before motioning for her arm. She looked at him sceptically but gave it over. The buzzing seemed to start to focus on her arm as if anticipating something happening. Dorian brought the knife down and sliced her arm.

"Ow,"She looked at him with a what-do-you-think-you're-doing look but he was focused on her arm. Feeling cold suddenly she looked to wound on her arm. It was slowly healing and Dorian wasn't doing anything. The buzzing turned into a hum as the cut pieced together not leaving a scar behind. They both stared at her arm. Dorian in wonder and Rhush confused.

"Dorian. What just happened?" She looked to him and he was smiling.

"This is incredible. What else are you capable of? Hmm by the feel of your magic maybe you're only a healer of course with practise you could also throw up a shield but I'll need to make sure," He looked to the knife and her eyes widened. He sliced himself and she grabbed his arm looking at him angrily. Coldness leaked from her hand and she couldn't tear her eyes away as a light blue curled around Dorian's arm and into the cut. Slowly healing the wound, as it had done before and they watched amazed as his skin closed up not leaving a scar.

"Dorian! We do not cut ourselves open for magical purposes, do you understand me?" She gave him the motherly look she had developed after Revas would try to play with her just before his bed time. Dorian smiled sheepishly at her and relaxed back in his chair.

"How do you feel now?" He asked raising an eyebrow. She actually felt a little drained not physically but the buzzing wasn't as prominent as it had been. She looked at him and tried to take a deep breathe in but it was shaky. The world seemed to fade away. Would she always be like this? With the buzzing under her skin. Would she loose herself like so many others? What would she do to make it stop if she couldn't calm the buzzing? What would that –

Hands on her shoulders brought her back. Her name seemed to be in than air. She blinked and saw Dorian staring at her. He smiled as he saw her come back.

"Rhush, darling. Please don't go anywhere I can't follow. You are here and there are people who care about you. Don't disappear on them like Solas did," Focus she had to focus. Closing her eyes and shaking her head. Here and now. It was just a change like when she first had the Anchor. It was a change and she had to bend like the bow not break like a twig. She focused on Dorian and breathed in and out.

"Sorry, I just…..this is big. I just…..I thought that…..Dorian I'm freaking out. What do I do with this?" She looked desperately at him feeling so vulnerable and scared. This was exactly like when they had gone to the future. Rhush fisted her hands and brought them to her face. She was so stupid to think everything would be easy. Stupid to think that giving the Anchor back wouldn't yield consequences. What would everyone think of her now she had magic too? Would this tip them over the edge? She could hear their voices accusing her of hiding this as well. Tears started to well up in her eyes. Damit what happened to the strong woman who just wanted to leave? To make no friends and get out of this back to the safety of her tribe. What happened to her? She crumbled and died to leave a woman who depended on her friends too much. They would all leave now and she would be alone. She was just so full of emotion and she was drained. Dorian reached slowly for her face and brought her hands into his. Another pair of hands reached out and softly laid on her shoulders but her focus was solely on Dorian.

"Now you listen to me, missy. You are our Inquisitor. You have saved the Mages from themselves and we have travelled to a now impossible future. You sealed the Breach, you bore the mark of the Anchor. You survived an avalanche and gave those Templars the what for. You got saved by Divine Justina, you faced down the nightmare demon. You have battled Dragons and managed to gain the entire approval of the Orleasian Court. You marched into that temple and defeated Samson and talked the Ancient ones into letting Morrigan drink from the well. You stared Corypheus in the face and never flinched as you destroyed him. You have incredible friends who will stand by your side no matter what. You are Rhush and you have done so many amazing things it's impossible to think that you have not earned some type of loyalty from the people who have seen you do these things with their own eyes. From all that, gaining magic should sound like a walk in the park, don't you think," He raised an eyebrow and everything melted away. There was no way Dorian could be wrong, not with the fire in his eyes, not when he smiled and arched his eyebrow like that. Suddenly the tears split over and she smiled. She laughed and then she hugged him to her tightly and cried, just cried because for all those things they seemed to just now catch up with her. The weight of all these actions on her now broke and she felt free. The hands on her shoulders squeezed reassuringly. She cried for all the tragedy she had heard and witnessed. That she never complained about and never commented on except to help her friends. She cried until suddenly there were no tears and she just hugged Dorian.

"Oh creators, I'm such a mess. How do I never stuff up when it matters but with everything else I'm a total idiot?" She laughed again and looked to Dorian's shirt "I'm so sorry Dorian. You're so amazing I don't know how I do anything, ever," She looked to his eyes and he smiled genuinely at her. The worry in his face had faded and she felt so bad for being selfish like that. So what she had magic now? She could help people. She could save more lives with her abilities…her future abilities. Relief faded and she was just tired. She wanted to sleep but someone shoved her favourite Mint and lemon cake in her hand and she brightened considerably. Maybe she could just get through the morning and then take a nap again. She smiled and looked to Dorian.

"I must be getting old. I feel like a nap and it hasn't even been midday yet," Dorian looked at her suspiciously.

"Well if you're getting old what does that make me? One of those ancients hmp I think not," He raised his eyebrow and she laughed.

"Oh darling you're looking fabulous for your age tell me, what's your secret?" She stared at him with a smile as they fell into their playful banter.

"Apparently young ladies tears they take years off all that anguish. It's so good for the soul darling," they smiled at each other. She heard a sound and almost chastised herself.

"Cole? Sweetie, please come sit with us," She patted on the spare room next to her and Cole walked forward head down with his hat covering his face.

"I didn't help you. Dorian did," His voice sounded ashamed. She got up and grabbed his hand dragging him over.

"You did a fantastic job. That cake was just what I needed. And the warmth of your hands on my back reminded me of my keeper when he would check up on my knitting. I could show him how I was doing and that smile he gave me always made me feel proud and confident. You did an amazing job with helping Dorian help me. Thank you Cole. You're so amazing," She plonked him down on her seat and kneeled to look at him.

"No. I'm supposed to help you. You can't help me that's not…" But as he looked at her he could see that by her telling him that he was good she was telling herself she was good too. He saw all the darkness that had clouded the once bright sky and only little lights like stars donned it. Some twinkled more brightly then others but he could count the ones that stood out and it was only few. There weren't many though and he frowned she needed more stars to brighten the ever big darkness.

"Cole, I know you're a spirit of compassion and that you feel that it's only your sole duty to help others but sometimes compassion needs help and-"

"You need more stars in your sky. Or maybe they are there but you can't see them. Why is it night time? You were the sun before but now you are night," Cole placed his hand on her forehead and she had frozen. He wouldn't make her forget. He would just help her to remember all the stars that should don her brilliant expansive sky. They can create constellations because all stars are joined. He saw a big tree in her night now but it was only a seed that had to be nurtured and grown with water. But it had already grown by her tears.

They all stayed still. Dorian was unsure as to what it was that Cole had just done. Rhush remembered all the people. Her clan was still a big part of her, all the people there had influenced her in some way. Everything was connected and she used to connect others but now she had a different path. Cole then smiled at her and dipped his head.

"I helped you," Was all Cole whispered as he sat shocked at himself. He had helped her, her night sky was a little less dim and had a constellation of stars that were dim but a bright one stood out a little from the rest.

"You help me every day Cole by just being yourself," Rhush hugged him tightly then turned to Dorian with renewed energy and smiled brightly. Dorian looked to her wearily and held her still.

"Are you going to be okay? Because if you aren't we can throw a sickie and go adventuring," he looked to her seriously but she shook her head and hugged him again.

"Dorian. I love you so much. Thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You're so amazing," and she kissed his cheek pulling away. Dorian looked scandalized and she laughed "Sweetie I think your drooling," Dorian looked to her angry but wiped his mouth.

"Alright then, I guess you should be okay. You seem to function like normal," He laid a hand on her head and messed her hair.

"Okay, I'm off to the war room. No doubt they will all be delighted to hear I can do party tricks now. That ought to entertain those stupid nobles," She grinned at him and he went to pick up his mug of now full coffee. He took a sip and smiled gently at her.

"When you talk to the rest of them give me a list if they were mean okay? I'll sort it out," Dorian's proud smug made him seem to stand taller.

"You really sounded just like Sera. It was scary Dorian," Rhush raised an eyebrow and he spat coffee out as he had been half way through drinking when she talked.

"Me like Sera. Perish the thought darling," but he gave her a grin that said if she asked he would indeed throw a jar of bees at one of their friends.

Cole still sat watching them curiously. When she talked to Dorian his star seemed to glow brighter and bigger. Her jewel became more polished in his tapestry standing out above all others and Cole wondered then that in another world they might have gotten mixed up as something more. He wondered how high Solas held her in his landscape if she shone as bright or was as pretty as these two were to each other. But the thought was chased away they couldn't help each other like that now. They helped each other being like this and he smiled. He liked seeing them help each other like this it was warm and encompassed him in their special love for each other. Dorian then leaned forward and kissed her forehead as she turned to leave and she waved and gave Dorian that smile that she had only for him.

Cole like to wonder sometimes but this was better than wondering so he stayed now to watch as they focused on other things. He decided then to help Rhush more and went to the others that she would see and told them what had happened and her worry of upsetting them. Some seemed to accept what he said and said thank you to him. Others stared at him long and hard until they turned away from him, ignoring him and he saw their hurt too. He tried to help but they didn't like his help like Rhush did. So he let them go and knew Rhush would help their hurt.

Sometimes only she could.
