A/N: So Im making some stuff up about her dad so please don't get picky. I might have Olivia and Fin appear later in the series. Maybe even Jamie Hoskins.

And yes Two updates in one day.

WaterWarrior6: That brings a smile to my face. I was hoping I still had readers, I didn't want to drop this story. Im going to try and update frequently.

"Isn't Mister Lord famous?" Maggie chewed her pancakes as Abby played with the strawberries on her plate.

Ruby scrunched her eyebrows and looked at her little neighbor. Their mother had dropped them off last night and hadn't come back since.

"Why would you say that?" She sipped her coffee and turned the page of her book.

"Cause My friend Christie listens too his music all the time." The twelve year old cocked her head.

"Must be a different Lord then." She smiled. "I don't think I'm that good at getting men." She joked.

"Mommy says you're lucky to get any man cause you're always stuck inside your apartment all the time." Abby spoke up. Maggie glared at her sister. "But your home is nicer than ours."

"Oh yeah? Well thank you Ab's. Tell your mom I said thanks too. Anyway let's go. Got to drop you both off at the center. I'll pick you both up at eight after my class."

"Can we do some more yoga later?" Maggie helped Abby into her jacket. The pre-teen had taken I real liking to the workout and it helped boost her confidence.

"Sure. Maybe you could lead me this time."

Ruby drove the girls at the children center and went to work. She taught classes for a private law firm twice a week at six at night. The workers always seemed stressed and usually invited their friends to join in. Ruby never minds. The more people, the more money. She would then chit chat with the ladies afterwards. They always tried to set her up with their nephews or sons which she would politely turn down. Now she had at least a real reason. She was dating Derek and it was going pretty well.

She just didn't hope her past would catch her. All men ran when they hear of her father name. Killian Dewitt. The biggest serial killer in the eighties. Right before she was born he was given the death penalty. Her Schizophrenic mother would take her to visit her father who would always feed her stories about a King killing demons to save his princess. She always thought of it was harmless until her mother snapped one day and killed herself.

Ruby never went back to the prison to visit her father. She never went to her mother's grave site. Never even acknowledged that she was a Dewitt. After her mother's death she moved in with a boyfriend who turned out to be abusive. He would bite, kick, punch, and cussed at her often. Making Ruby have severe panic attacks. She was only saved by the old man next door that had called the cops.

Any man would find that past too 'hectic' or even to 'mortifying' to deal with. They didn't want to know when it got a little better. When her grandmother became her savior. When Ruby started seeing things in a whole new light. Yes, that was what she wanted Derek to know. She wanted Derek to meet her instead of the insatiable bastard she would call a sperm donor.

"Miss Ruby." She was pulled out of her thoughts.

"Yes?" The tiny girl looked at the elder woman.

"Nothing, it's just…you seem much happier. Have you met someone?" The older woman smiled and raised both eyebrows.

"Uh, sort of." She smiled at the woman. She looked familiar. "Do you work here?"

"Uh, no, but I am a friend with someone who does. She loves to come in hordes." She chuckled. "I come here every now and then. You don't really smile and a lot of people like to talk. So, I just wanted to say, I'm happy for you. Such a pretty girl shouldn't frown as much as you do." The woman patted Ruby's shoulder before walking over to a group of younger women.

It wasn't until she got the kids tucked up in their beds and the baby walkie-talkies set up, when she finally plopped on her sofa and sighed heavily. She kicked off her running shoes and pulled her dark hair up into a messy bun. Her phone started to buzz.

"Miss me already?" Ruby answered.

"Always do." He chuckled. "Up for some coffee in the morning?"

She could hear Derek rustle at the other end of the line. "Course. Can never pass up Coffee with such a hottie." She teased.

"Oh how sweet."

"Hey you know Maggie said something hilarious this morning. Said something about you being this huge famous musician guy…or something like that." She giggled.

Derek could feel his chest start to tighten. How could she know so fast? He made sure to back track everything. Maybe he should have changed his name? Or at least wait a while before telling her his surname. Great now she was going to find out about the damn trial and how big a freak he was.

"Uh…that's crazy. Why would she think that?"

"Her friend listens to that guy's music. Supposedly he's a hottie and crap, but whatever."

"Yeah sounds hysterical. Uh, hey I gotta go, I got some cleaning to do before the poker game. So, see you in the morning."

"Okay. Hey don't get to drunk and shit, I need to get up early to take the kids to school."

"Kay…Sweet dreams, Payne."

"And you too, Lord."
