Ch. 4
Thank all of my readers who have been following me and all of you who are new to the series. You are what inspired me to write. I apologize to anyone if I had used or will use any themes, settings or actions of any characters. I am not trying to steal your thunder from your writing. It was your writing who inspired this work. You know who you are. I have permission from Vintage77 for use of the translator. Any questions for the story please PM me if you are confused about anything. Now on with the story.
All rights are reserved for Jurassic Park. I only own the OCs and the plot.
Sitting curled up on a rock just inside the treeline of the clearing, Ahlea was deep in thought.
A gentle breeze blew through the clearing when the sound of voices approached from above.
Shock spread throughout her body when the first the creatures dropped out of the sky.
With a loud chirp she fell off of the rock she was sunning herself on.
She was crouched low in the brush many meters from the group, watching as these two legs scanned the forest around them with their small guns in their hands.
The pack had stories passed between them of two legged creatures with fur on their head.
They told of fear and hate for these creatures.
That they only hurt and kill all the living things that they touch just for fun.
That they had weapons of fire and metal.
That if they found me I would be killed without question.
'Humans.' Ahlea thought with a low growl.
Fear held her in hiding as the three of them scanned the area around them.
She was sure she was hidden well enough that she would not be noticed until the one closest to pointed his gun in her direction and held it there.
The young one had light brown hair that brushed his forehead and he looked like he would stand almost as tall as her when she stood.
She could smell the scent of him from where she crouched, trying to make herself appear smaller then she was.
He smelled of the woods after a fresh spring rain.
Her muscles where tense from fear, sure that she was about to be shot by him, or he would announce her presence to the rest of his pack.
At this time she wished her pack mates were here to protect her, to comfort her with their presence.
Her pack mates were far from her because she wanted to be alone.
Now she was trapped with monsters in a far off clearing as the one with graying brown fur shouted clear to his left.
She could not hear what was said from where she was.
He seemed to be the Alpha of the small pack as the other two looked to him for
guidance.
If the stories were true then she would be killed without thought by the light brown haired human.
Yet as she watched his blue eyes sized her up before scanning the rest of the clearing around him.
"Clear." Stated the strange human, he holstered his gun at his hip before he swung his pack off of his back and began to fiddle with the larger gun that sat there.
He still had his eye on her, watching her, assessing her from where he knelt as he made sure his gun was in good shape.
Now she was confused. Why did he not kill her like the stories said they would.
Or at least told one of the others of her position.
As she tried to think, he stood up in one smooth motion and walked over to where the other two stood and waited while they got ready.
Minutes passed as she watched, still afraid to move for fear of being killed, as the older one began to speak, his voice too low to hear from where she stood..
Light filtered from the middle of the group and voices filtered to her hiding place, too
indistinct to make out.
Some hand gestures were made and then he pointed to his left before the light faded
"Lets move it people." Stated the older one in a louder voice then before.
She could see the strange human's blue eyes look at her before glancing back at the older one and nodding.
Without saying a word he began to move away from her without saying anything.
The two others soon followed in his wake, both scanning the clearing as they left.
She could feel the seconds tick by as her muscles slowly unclenched.
'I'm not dead.' She thought as questions swirled around in her head.
'Who was he?', 'Why had that human showed mercy to her if they all were nothing but killers without hearts' and also 'Are the stories even true?'
These questions were the most dominate in her head as she uncurled herself from the ground.
She did not know what to think of that strange human as the light started to wax as the sun trekked across the sky, but she needed to get back to her pack mates.
With a shake of her head she turned in the opposite direction and started to run.
With practiced grace she jumped fallen logs and swerved around trees as she followed her path back to the waterfall.
'What should I say to them?' She thought as she ran. 'They need to be informed of what happened.'
Minutes passed as she focused on running. A gentle breeze blew toward her, bring with her the comforting smell of the forest.
She could smell the faint smell of herself as she followed her way back to where she left her pack mates.
The sun's light filtered green through the leaves above her as her run slowed to a fast walk.
She enjoyed the peace away from the pack; the sound of the wind passing through the leaves, the smell of rotting leaves and futile dirt, the light chirps of the birds and the hum of the bugs.
She slowed as she thought about what she would say to her pack, especially her Mom.
She did not know much about why they were here for or if that small pack was alone. She stopped and looked back at the way she had came.
She suddenly came to a decision. She turned and ran faster back to the clearing.
When she got there she smelled around the area she thought that they had stood.
'Fuck' She thought when she smelled other raptors all heading in the same direction as the pack of humans.
She too ran in the same direction, pushing herself faster then ever before, with only thoughts of the human who had spared her. 'He spared me. I can't leave him to the Blackstone Pack.'
Authors Note:
And there is another chapter. Sorry if it took long. Life has been a grind for me and it has been hard for me to find the will to put words on the screen. I try to at least put one sentence down every day but sometimes life gets in the way. I will eventually get a chapter out and try to do so once a month. I am still looking for a beta so if anyone wants to help please PM me. Also if anyone likes Zootopia stories look at Savage days Season 1 welcome to the Jungle on AO3 ( )- google it. He is one of my favorites and he has given me some sound advice about writing. Please look into it and until next time, see you.
