Hey, so I updated one, might as well update the other, right?
Disclaimer-Me no ownsies. I do own Sayuri (the star and spontaneous), Mimi (the sweet and sadistic) and Maki (the sarcastic and serious), though.
Warning- Work sucks. Epically, three projects due in one day X.X and still has the time for ffnet.
xXx
-Time skip- In short, Rikkaidai crushed them all 6-0.
Sayuri, Mimi, and Maki's eyes were all wide. Sayuri was the first to recover. She supported her torso on the railing.
"HOLY SHIT! DID YOU SEE THAT SEXINESS? THAT'S RIKKAIDAI FUZOKU FOR YOU BISHIES!" Sayuri shouted to the world.
Mimi giggled, "Your skirt's flying up.~" Sayuri stuck out her tongue and held her skirt over her short-shorts underneath. Because unlike some idiots who wore short skirts and no shorts underneath, Sayuri had common sense.
Maki snorted. "Idiot."
"Tensai teki?" The trio heard the unmistakeable 'pop' of bubblegum.
"Marui-san!" Mimi said.
"Yo," He flashed a victory sign.
Sayuri ducked behind Maki. "You're not here to kill me, are you?"
Marui sighed, "I would be, but then buchou and fukubuchou would kill me with laps."
"Sanada-san's fukubuchou, right?" Sayuri asked absently. "That's not very polite Ushi-san."
Maki snorted. "What did you just call him?!"
Sayuri's face colored. "He reminded me of a cow in Karuizawa, okay?"
Marui, Maki and Mimi started laughing their butts off. Marui leaned one arm on Mimi for support.
"Shut up," Sayuri said, embarrassed.
"A...ha... Cow?!" And Mimi burst not her bright giggles again.
"Okay, Mimi, you're going down~" Sayuri said, rolling up her sleeves.
"TICKLE FIGHT!" Sayuri leapt at Mimi, who hid behind Marui the closest in her vicinity. Sayuri then accidentally tickled Marui, who started twitching and then he let out some laughter. Maki just stood there, laughing like an idiot.
Marui's team came up to him. They just stared awkwardly at the puzzling sight.
Mimi was hiding behind Marui, who was trying to avoid getting tickled by Sayuri, who was trying to get at Mimi. The whole ordeal involving yelling, poking and tickling. Oh, and Maki standing to the side laughing her butt off.
Sanada cleared his throat. "Ahem..."
All four turned to look at him. Three burst out laughing. Sayuri just rolled her eyes. "Geez, I make one comparison."
"..." Was the general reaction still.
"Sanada-channn~" Sayuri seemed to remember who was here. She attempted to glomp him, but failed, she was too short. Sayuri pouted. "You're too tall. Grow shorter!"
He glared, Marui snorted, Yukimura smiled. There were mixed emotions.
"So uh, we're gonna go now." Sayuri smiled nervously. Maki nodded excitedly.
"Ja," Marui said, popping his gum.
Yukimura smiled and led his team away. Sayuri stuck out her tongue at Sanada's retreating back.
"Meanie, I just like giving hugs, is that a problem? I think not." Sayuri said childishly. Maki rolled her eyes.
"Come on, let's go get ice cream." Mimi cheered, pulling Sayuri's arm.
"Itai! Dude, Mimi, you're like, bodybuilding material."
Mimi made a victory sign, "I work out, don't be surprised."
"I'm not, you need to with all you eat." Maki said.
Mimi glared, "If I need to work out, you are in desperate need."
Maki looked offended, "Hey! I do too work out, then I just eat it all off."
Sayuri raised her hand timidly, "Should I feel left out because I don't work out?"
"Yes, yes, you should," Mimi said seriously. She broke into a grin, "Of course not! You don't need it!"
"Yet." Maki added in an undertone.
Sayuri pouted and swatted Maki on the head lightly. "Ite..."
"That's what you get for implying I might get fat!" Sayuri shouted.
As you can see, this trio is the type that gets a lot of weird stares when they go anywhere public. The girls reached the ice cream parlor with no trouble. Once in side, they ran for the counter.
"Ooh! Can I have a double scoop of strawberry shortcake in a sugar cone, onegai~!" Mimi said excitedly to the taken aback employee.
"Uh, a rocky road single in a cup onegaishimasu," Maki said, her hands in her hoodie pocket.
"Hm, A scoop of chocolate chip cookie dough in a cake cone, onegai," Sayuri said, after much debate.
After the girls received their ice cream, they left the parlor with a loud, "Arigato Gozaimasu~!"
Sayuri collapsed into a chair outside. "Uwaa! Oishiiii~"
Maki smiled, "I have to admit, this is delicious."
"I LOVE ICE CREAM~!" Mimi shouted to the world.
"No, you don't, you just like strawberries." Maki said. Sayuri nodded her agreement.
"I like food." Mimi stated plainly. "Anybody who doesn't, is crazy cuckoo."
Sayuri nodded her agreement again.
"By the way, care to share about you and Niou?" Mimi asked.
Sayuri's ears perked up, "Maki and Niou? Ooh, I ship."
Mimi giggled, "When you were off flirting with Sanada and getting bombarded with questions, Maki and Niou had an interesting conversation."
Sayuri stood up, "I WAS NOT FLIRTING WITH USHI-SAN!"
Maki joined her standing, "WELL YOU SHOULDN'T SHIP THINGS THAT AREN'T A THING!"
Mimi licked her ice cream innocently.
Sayuri and Maki both sat down and huffed.
"So, Maki," Mimi's eyes glinted. "Do share."
"If I must." Maki said, leaning back and crossing her arms.
"You must," Mimi and Sayuri chorused.
"Then here we go."
xXx
"Well, it was two years ago, freshman year, before we were friends. I may or may not have walked on Niou and his at the time current slut of a girlfriend in the teacher's lounge." Maki started.
"What were they doing?" Mimi asked.
"..." Maki stared at her. "Not sex or anything, just... weird-ness."
Sayuri remembered that Maki came from an all-girl elementary school. Some relationship things must be strange to her.
"And?"
"Uhm, well Niou saw me. I ran out of the room and back to class."
"And?"
"And then Niou and the girl came back later, separate timings of course. The girl looked like she was about to cry. And Niou had his Niou-face on."
"Niou-face?" Mimi questioned.
"A poker face mixed with a i-know-where-you-live face cross-bred with a prankster grin." Maki explained.
Sayuri nodded, she knew what Maki meant.
"Uh, later Niou may or may not have kidnapped me from lunch, dragged me up to the roof, and told me to be his girlfriend for the sake of keeping secrets. Oh and he broke up with the other slut before coming back to class."
Mimi was puzzled. "Why?"
"It was either that or get pranked everyday for the rest of middle school." Maki explained.
"Oh, I assume that he let you believe you were special, then dumped you." Mimi nodded.
Maki raised an eyebrow.
"I listened to the ballerina senpai-tachi had have all been heartbroken by Niou. They were discussing their breakups, which followed a similar pattern."
Maki nodded and zoned out.
What she hadn't mentioned was that Niou had caught her in a hug from behind to keep her from going to lunch.
She hadn't mentioned how happy she was when he said he liked her.
She hadn't mentioned how Niou had made her feel special every single day.
She hadn't mentioned that she liked him too.
She hadn't mentioned how she knew every one of the walls he put up.
She hadn't mentioned how he refused to tell her why he put up walls.
She hadn't mentioned how he did tell her that maybe she'd be the first to know.
She hadn't mentioned how he told her that she was the one he trusted the most.
She hadn't mentioned how she very nearly got conned into cheating on Niou, and he didn't believe her.
She hadn't mentioned how she felt when he said he didn't believe her.
She hadn't mentioned how he called her a slutty bitch.
And maybe that's why when he broke up with her, she fell apart.
Her smiles came rarely. Her nails became permanently black. Her style changed from soft pastel colors to vivid reds and blues, blacks and pinks, and metal, tons of metal. Her voice grew tougher. Her wariness rose around people she had known forever.
He changed her, perhaps for the better.
And she had changed him, perhaps for the worse.
"... Maki?" Sayuri's voice came into Maki's earshot.
"You okay~?" Mimi was back to her cutesy self.
"Yeah, fine." Maki sat up. "Should we go now?"
The girls stood up and split to begin the walk home.
xXx
Sayuri found herself passing the park with tennis gardens. She walked through, holding her skirt to her legs. The wind was picking up. She heard the sounds of a tennis ball from the courts.
"Sanada-san?" she called.
The tall capped boy turned around. Sayuri thought she saw wariness in his eyes. She could understand wariness. Maki had it in her eyes all the time. He nodded, acknowledging her existence. She sat on the bench next to his tennis bag.
Sayuri watched Sanada play tennis against the wall. She marveled at his concentration. She could never concentrate for long enough to play a tennis match. That's what her okaa-san told her anyways. Always that she didn't have enough concentration, she procrastinated too much. How she couldn't believe a child as stupid as Sayuri got into Rikkaidai. Sayuri had heard it all before. It was just normal now. She was so wrapped up in her thoughts, she didn't notice Sanada in front of her.
"Oi," he said.
Sayuri looked up at him.
"Can you give me my towel? I think you're sitting on it."
"Oh," Sayuri got up. "Here."
Sanada sat on the bench on the other side of his stuff. "You're quieter when you're not with friends."
Sayuri sat straight up. "Hey! I can too be loud by myself."
"You've clearly just proven me wrong," Sanada said, towel over his neck.
"Hey," Sayuri said.
"Hn?"
"What's with the hat?" Sayuri asked, fingering it softly.
Sanada froze slightly. "Present."
"Must be a very dear present."
"Ah."
"It must be nice having someone that you care about that much." Sayuri whispered, dropping her hand to her lap. "I only have Mimi and Maki, and I've only known them since sophomore year."
"Parents?"
"It's not a 'close' kind of relationship."
"Oh."
"Hey, did you know Niou in freshman year?"
"No."
"Oh, cause he did something to Maki and I have to figure out how much Mimi and I need to beat him up."
Sanada snorted. "Don't kill him, I need a Doubles player."
Sayuri smiled, "Hai."
They stayed like that for awhile. Sayuri making small talk and Sanada answering in syllables and the occasional sentence. The wind blew gently, scattering leaves. The world continued on. It was very peaceful.
Sayuri liked peaceful.

Mimi walked through the shopping district on her way home. Shopping was boring when you didn't have anybody to do it with. She swung her curly short yellow hair so that it bounced with every step. Her feet stopped in front of a cheery looking cafe. On the left was a bookstore, and on the right a bakery. Her Okaa-san owned both the cafe and the bakery. Her Otou-san owned the bookstore.
The smell of fresh ink and paper surrounded Mimi as she entered the bookstore.
"Otou-san~!" She called.
"Ah, Michi!" Her Otou-san called.
"Do we have new manga?!" She called excitedly.
"Hai, hai, your favorite's new volume."
"Yay!" Mimi grabbed the glossy manga volume and spun around.
"You still have to pay, Michi" her Otou-san warned.
"Of course! All for your good service!" Michi laughed and went out and next door to the cafe. She slipped behind the counter and grabbed the cookies left for her on the pink patterned cutting board. After pouring some milk into a mug, Mimi climbed upstairs to her home and read her new manga with her snack.
After Mimi finished the manga an hour later, "Uwahhh! I want the next volume now!" She lay flat on her back. "Maybe I'll go see if Okaa-san needs help."
Mimi changed into a frilly pink skirt and a white blouse. She tied pink ribbons in her hair then went downstairs.
"Jackal! Jackal! This is my new favorite cafe!" Mimi froze when she heard a familiar voice.
"Okay, Marui, calm down." Jackal tried to pacify the excited Marui.
"Look! Look! They have really good strawberry cake and cinnamon rolls!" Marui said excitedly.
"Those were my daughter's creations." Mimi heard her Okaa-san say. "She loves strawberries to death. Her room is pink, red and green-themed."
"Your daughter sounds like an amazing person!" Marui said earnestly.
"Thank you, I'm sure she'll be happy to here that. Do you want the usual, Marui-kun?"
"Yes, and whatever Jackal wants."
"I'll just have some tea, thanks." Jackal said.
"Oh no, I insist you have at least one dessert."
"No, thank you, I don't care much for sweets." Jackal said.
"Tell you what, I'll have my daughter cook something up. If you like it, then you can pay. But if not, it's on the house."
"I'll eat it, Tetsuo-san!" Marui smiled.
Mimi's Okaa-san smiled. Mimi gulped. How am I supposed to cook for Jackal-san? I know he's from Brazil, right? Wait isn't there... that one party food... AHA! BRIGADEIRO!
Mimi smiled and nodded to her Okaa-san. She slipped into the kitchen, tying a frilly white apron around her waist. She pulled out condensed milk, cocoa, butter and powdered sugar. After heating everything up and stirring, Mimi stuck the mixture in the froster* for about a minute. Then she pulled it out and rolled the dough into little balls, rolled those in unsweetened powdered sugar and a light dusting of chocolate powder. Mimi grinned at her creation. After putting it on a small pink dish, she sent it out via waiter to Jackal and Marui. She peeked out the kitchen doorway.
Jackal's eyes widened. "Is that brigadeiro?!" He looked excited, like a little kid.
Marui's eyes widened. "Is this possible? A dessert that Jackal... LIKES?!"
"I loved brigadeiro when I was a kid!" Jackal defended himself. Marui smiled.
"Tetsuo-san's daughter must be a genius." Marui said, smiling. Mimi smiled, listening. Her Okaa-san knelt down beside her.
"A dessert with that kind of reception deserves the chef's compliments."
Mimi smiled, "Maybe another time, Okaa-san. I'll go make some more for when they come back."
Her Okaa-san smiled, "Hai, hai."

*Froster: Idk if this actually exists, so let's just say it freezes stuff at a faster rate. Like a reverse microwave.
How was it? Better? I've been motivated recently to write at least 2000-word chapters. Please Read and Review, onegai~! I send you virtual strawberry cake if you do! [Marui-approved cake XD]
