Me- sorry everyone for taking so long on the update, I've been distracted lately, and had lost my interest in the show for a bit, but the interest is back, along with my desire to get this fic back on track. I've been away from fan fiction for a bit, but I know that I would never leave a fan fiction unfinished, because even I know how awful it is when your reading a good fan fiction that was never finished and by the looks of it, never would be. It really sucks; on another note, I've decided to major in graphic design while on the sidelines, I will be pursuing my dream of being a singer. I've always loved singing and my friend had already started posting videos on you tube, and hopefully this upcoming week I can start recording my voice to some of my favorite tracks. Anyway, please enjoy Let it go; I've recently thought of changing the name but it fits perfectly with the story cause it's all about letting go of the past and looking toward the future, and for Hanako, basketball is already on her mind, and though she may get distracted by some boys, she will always go for her dream. By boys I obviously mean pairings of which I hope you guys will tell me your favorite =).

Enjoy!

Hanako no basket

Chapter 3: A girl's will!

Hanako's thoughts were disrupting her concentration in class. Kuroko was in her school, and she couldn't believe it, that is until he wandered into the seat right beside her.

"Hello." was the only statement said which sent her into a tiny shock.

"Tetsu..." She whispered as the boys brows furrowed in mild confusion.

"Do I know you?" Kuroko questioned with his usual deadpanned expression.

That was the question she had dreaded hearing, and of course she felt stupid for even using the nickname that came like second nature to her.

"No, but I heard from the basketball club that you're from Teiko?" She said while putting on a calm façade.

"That is correct, but why did you call me by that nickname?" He questioned while his eyes bored into her soul.

"I thought it would have been cute, but I guess not; I should have been a little more respectful." Hanako spoke honestly as she laid her head down on her desk so that he might stop talking to her. She was embarrassed, and the more they continued on with this conversation, the worse it got.

"Did you join the basketball club too?" He questioned as Hanako looked back at him, a little taken back.

"Yeah, I did." She answered, puzzled by the nonchalant way he had ignore what had transpired moments ago.

"I'd be glad to be on a team with...?" Kuroko spoke until it came to my name.

"Kidd, my name is Kidd." She spoke while smiling whole-heartedly.

"Kidd, you don't have a last name?" Kuroko questioned the girl whom was dressed as a boy.

"um... Mizaki Kidd." She answered without realizing she had used her own last name.

"Are you related to a Mizaki Hanako, by chance?" Kuroko questioned her, and she had never seen him look as happy as he did when he thought she was related to none other than herself. She thought a moment before answering her best friend ( whom at the moment didn't know it was her under the guise of a boy) . She could easily tell him yes, but then he'd want to see her, and it would become much more difficult later on down the road. It would be a better option to tell him no, but by simply looking into his eyes; she wanted to hug him tight and tell him that she's Hanako, but basketball came first.

"I'm not related to her, but I've heard of her; I heard she's pretty cute." She decided to answer as she boosted her own ego.

"Yeah, she's very pretty, although I haven't seen her since Teiko middle school." Kuroko explained as Hanako wanted to hug the bluenette and curse him for being so adorable. That's when she realized that Kuroko had openly admitted that she was pretty which made her blush crimson, which luckily went unnoticed by the bluenette who chose to ignore her presence, opting to listen to the teacher whom had just begun teaching the class.

However; Hanako couldn't help but sneak tiny glances towards the bluenette whom was so close to her, yet so far. It was like they had to start over again as friends, and that was hard considering she knew everything about the boy who sat next to her. She could vaguely remember a day where she had first witnessed his misdirection skill. All of the generations of miracles had been there that day and Hanako had been blown away.

"Kuroko! you can do it! " Hanako cheered as the former disappeared from sight, although she was able to pick up on where he went thanks to her observational skills that she had improved over the years to make her game play better. When he had stolen the ball and tapped it with his palm to one of his teammates, Hanako's eyes had widened considerably. She didn't expect that, and as he ran past her, her hair had started to flow wildly behind her before she snapped out of it and smiled widely. She was happy that her friend had found his Achilles heel.

When the game had ended, she had not hesitated as she ran up to her friend with a bottle of water; it can always come in handy, especially with his low stamina.

"Kuroko, here." anS Hanako spoke as she handed the bottle to the blunette, whom had definitely picked up a sweat.

"Thank you, Hanako-san." He thanked her as he accepted her offer of water.

"You were amazing; I know you told me about figuring out a technique, but I never thought it would be that amazing and unique. You're really amazing Kuroko." Hanako smiled, not noticing the feint blush that had appeared on his cheeks, thanks to her praising him on his newly found misdirection skill.

"You're amazing to, Hanako-san." Kuroko told her as she wrapped her arms around his neck; she was happy to have been complimented.

This moment in time was one of her most memorable, and she was happy he didn't push her away from him. Hanako would always take a glimpse of the past, she misses the way things use to be, but she couldn't let that bother her now. Hanako was ready to play basketball, and this time, she wouldn't give up, nor let them discriminate against her gender. Right now, she is a boy, and there was no way she would get caught; at least she hoped not.

Time passed rather quickly as it came time to meet for the basketball club. When she walked in, she saw many guys, including Kuroko, and the guy from this mourning whom had nearly knocked her over. Just then, a girl with short brown hair came in, and Hanako immediately recognized her as the girl from this mourning who was collecting participation papers to be on the team.

"Ok, everyone line up!" The girl snapped as one guy decided to give some attitude.

"Why should we listen to you, you're not the coach." Hanako knew that treatment all too well, and by the looks of the girl, she could handle it.

"Actually, I am the coach, so if you don't want to do 100 laps your first day, then I expect you to be respectful." The girl told the sole guy as he immediately got to a spot in line.

"That's what I thought. Now that, that is squared away. My name is Riko Aida, and I will be your coach for the basketball team. First, I want everyone to remove your shirts." She spoke as Hanako began to panic; she'd be exposed before she got anywhere. Riko Aida walked down the line as Hanako began to sweat bullets, when she reached the tall guy with red and black spiky hair, she froze. Hanako began to wonder if this guy really was a monster, but as soon as Aida was snapped out of her frozen state, it came down to her.

"Why don't you have your shirt off yet, I gave you ample time." Aida questioned as the white-haired girl looked her in the eyes, trying to calm her nerves. Hanako realized she'd have no choice but to let the coach in on her secret, and as she looked at it, she knew Aida would be trustworthy, and since she was a girl too, maybe Hanako finally had a chance.

"I'm sorry, coach, but I'm a bit nervous around people, would we be able to go somewhere privately for this." Hanako said with as much confidence as she could muster; trying her best to sound like a male and not a female.

"I'm not impressed Kidd-kun, but I will respect your wishes, and we shall check you, right after Kuroko Tetsuya." Aida pointed out as she looked around for the blunette. Hanako looked at her as if she was insane. Kuroko had been right next to her.

"Kuroko Tetsuya, why isn't he here?" Aida questioned as Hanako looked at her and decided to speak up.

"Excuse me coach, but he right here." Hanako spoke as she pointed to the spot next to her, and like magic, he had appeared before everyone's eyes as if he was a ghost.

"How long have you been there?" The coach questioned as Hanako looked at her in disbelief.

"I've been here the whole time." He spoke up as Aida made him remove his shirt, but as soon as he did; Aida didn't seem as impressed as she was with the taller male. She seemed rather indifferent.

"Ok, since I have checked your stats and such, I shall take care of Kidd-kun, whom was scared to show off his body around the same gender." Aida exclaimed as she dragged the girl dressed boy towards her office, which was actually just the girls dressing room; which a lot of the guys had been shocked by. Before they had entered, blue eyes had met another pair and one pair was dragged out of sight. Hanako had met Kuroko's gaze as if he had secretly discovered her identity.

"Ok, take off your shirt." Aida quickly spoke as Hanako unsteadily removed her shirt, revealing the ace bandage that covered her breasts.

"I'm sorry, but I'm not a guy." Hanako apologized as the coach looked at her with wide eyes.

"I've never had a girl go to these levels to be on the boy's team; usually when a girl tries out here, they get on the team." Aida explained as Hanako looked at her big brown eyes.

"It's not like I haven't tried before. At Teiko, I tried out multiple times, and was turned down because of my gender. I may be a girl, but I like being challenged, and right now I can't get any better in basketball unless I go up against someone on a bigger skill level than me. Ever since I was turned down by the team many times, and then thrown away by my friends whom were the generation of miracles. I want to defeat them in the sport I love." Hanako explained. "I also want to prove that girls are just as skilled as boys are, and if they set their minds to something, they can accomplish any goal."

"I understand, but wouldn't be more satisfying dressed as a girl, and playing as yourself." Aida suggested.

"It's nothing against that, but sometimes many guys discriminate us girls, just like that guy today with you. I know if I dressed as a girl, then the guys wouldn't take me seriously, and go easy on me, but I don't want them to go easy. I want them to play me like they would another guy." Hanako announced as she placed a palm on her heart.

"With a bit of training I can help you achieve your goal, and I can see your speed is quite impressive." Aida stated as Hanako looked at her with widened eyes.

"You can tell just by looking at my body?" She questioned as Aida gestured to her shirt as she placed it back on.

"Yes I can, that was the point of me looking at all of their bodies, so that I can help them improve." Aida spoke as Hanako poked the coach on the shoulder.

"What do I have to improve in?" Hanako questioned with mild curiosity.

"You're strong points are your speed and agility, but to get better I want you to work more on strength training, and practice a bit of shooting, I can tell you can shoot a good percentage, but if you want to win, it must be higher." Aida explained as she gave a smile to her new-found protégé.

"Thank you, coach; I won't let you down." Hanako smiled as Aida returned it as she shook the white-haired girls hand.

"I know you won't. but instead of telling me, prove it."

End of chapter 3

Me- I know I said longer, but every time, it ends where I want it and I decided next chapter to time skip, so it can get to the practice game with Kise. Hanako wants to try harder to be the best, but obviously it will take some work. I hope everyone likes this story and thank you for being patient with me despite my slow updates. I didn't expect for this story to be liked, and on another note I think the pairing is going to be Kuroko and Hanako. I'm unsure at the same time, but please help me decide if you guys have any ideas. Also I'm hoping to either in two or one more chapter introduce two new characters to the story. An obsessed crazy yandere whom is obsessed with a certain someone and at times will act like Juvia from fairy tail when addressing her beloved but goes psycho yandere crazy when she thinks someone is after that person, even if it's another guy. then you have a shy and timid girl whom puts up with the others shenanigans despite having feelings for the same person, although she doesn't explicitly say so. She follows her friends will, and I believe the two are going to be great additions considering their purely for humor reasons. I hope you guys enjoy! this chapter, and I hope you guys come to love the characters I've created. Goodbye for now!
