Chapter 4
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Lunaria." The blonde shook the water mage's hand.
"Likewise Miss Lucy Heartfelia." Lunaria smiled. For a split second the blue haired mage's grip tightened and then it was gone. She released her hand. "I'll join you later, I have to clean this up."
"Clean what up?" Lunaria ignored the question and cupped her hands and held them out. The water that Lucy had seen earlier flowing through the town's streets began to surge forward and flow into Lunaria's hands. She then raised her hands above her and sent the water into the sky. She put her hands down and water rained down on everything.
"Why?" Lucy tried to cover herself. "I'm wearing a white shirt."
"I told you to go inside." Lunaria answered. "It's not my fault you didn't listen."
"You could have given me a warning." Lucy grumbled. "And you didn't tell me to go inside either."
Lunaria huffed and lifted one arm. The rain moved away from Lucy. It continued raining but the water didn't touch her.
"Now you're dry."
"I'm still wet." Lucy said.
"You can dry off inside." Lunaria gently nudged the celestial wizard into the building.
Lucy expected large gate doors to creak open when they walked through, but those doors that looked large and intimidating were nothing more than decoration. There were medium sized doors that swung open with little to no resistance. It made Lucy wonder how the doors hadn't swung open when those two performers were in front of them.
The guildhall inside didn't even look like it did outside. There were floor upon floors, a courtyard in the middle of the first flower with small garden tables set up. There was a large square gate that closed off the outside area from the inside, creating something like a secret garden feel.
On the opposite side of the entrance was a job board that hung down from the second floor, almost merging with the first floor. Next to that board was a smaller one that had posters stuck on it. People walked around inside, sitting and talking, not paying attention to the two girls that had just walked in.
"You haven't seen anything yet." Lunaria interrupted Lucy's train of thought. "This is just to show visitors how amazing our guild is. When someone actually wants to join, they get to see a lot more."
"Like what?"
"You'd have to join our guild if you want to find out." The blue haired mage shrugged. "I'm not going to tell you."
"I'm...not really looking to join a guild right now." Lucy said nervously. "I was just visiting for the festival."
"Hm. Okay." Lunaria shrugged and gestured over to a table that had two people sitting at it. "I'll be sitting over there if you change your mind. Feel free to go back out there and explore. The market should be wrapping up soon."
Lucy was about to walk out of the door before a thought came to her. She turned to Lunaria. "I'll get wet again."
"Shame. You could always sit with us." The blue haired mage motioned to the table.
She's playing with me. Lucy hid her annoyance and followed the water mage to the table. She watched as a big smile appeared on Lunaria's face.
"Azura! Kuro!" The two people had different reactions when their names were called. The blonde looked up from a paper that was in front of her and smiled. The black haired boy rather than looking up, tightened his grip on the knife in his hand. The blonde reached over and put her hand on his. His grip relaxed and he put the knife down just as Lunaria and Lucy reached them.
"Lunaria," the blonde greeted. "to what do we owe the pleasure?"
Lunaria started to say something, but Lucy stopped paying attention. The black haired boy was looking at Lucy. The celestial wizard felt the need to try and hide from his eyes. It didn't look like he was looking at her, it was like he was studying her. Looking at what made her work, what made her Lucy Heartfelia. He studied her breathing and looked ready to attack at the slightest sign of hostility.
"I'm sorry about Kuro, Miss Lucy." The blonde brought her back into the conversation. "He's very protective."
"And terrible at asking questions." Lunaria added. "Or having conversations. He's not good at social things." She shrugged. "It's true, Kuro."
"Why are you here?" Kuro asked. His voice was quiet yet carried a lot of power. His violet eyes continued staring into her brown.
"Lunaria brought me here." Lucy said. Out of the corner of her eye she saw the water mage turn with a shocked look on her face. Kuro's eyes went from Lucy to Lunaria. Azura rested her head on her hands and watched Kuro interrogate both girls.
"Why?"
"Well..." Lunaria had a sheepish look on her face. "She was interested in our guild." Azura opened her mouth. "And," Lunaria cut her off. "She's a celestial wizard. We've never had one of them come by Nisenoi before."
"I know who she is, Lunaria." Azura spoke before Lunaria could say anything else. "I've seen her on Sorcerer Weekly."
"Then-"
"She's a part of the Fairy Tail guild." Azura continued. "So I'm sure she has no interest in joining our guild."
"Actually," Lucy spoke up. "I was hoping to take a break from Fairy Tail. Maybe I could unofficially join your guild? Just for a little bit."
There were three varied expressions. Lunaria had a smirk on her face. Azure looked at her with mild interest. Whatever Kuro thought was hidden behind his expressionless mask. He looked over at Azura, who nodded slowly.
"I don't see why we can't let you 'unofficially' join us." Azura said with a smile. "But you will have to go through the same procedure as those who are officially joining us."
"Okay."
"I suppose we should move this to a more private setting." Azura stood. "Otherwise some people might get curious. My office is upstairs. Follow me."
