Hmm. A month to update and it's a short chapter. Way to go, me. Honestly, I'm sorry for being such a numpty and taking so long! That was equal parts my own laziness as it was doing extra shifts and trying to (unsuccessfully) teach a friend how morphine works. Can't make a silk purse outta pigs ears… And… I admit. I was fascinated by the new Fire Emblem: If trailer. I am swaying towards Nohr, but Hoshido's morals suit me better… Gah.

Now, the sex scenes. I read all your lovely views and guess which side won? ;) It is a little steamy and hopefully pretty sexy, but I pray it doesn't come across as crude or well… crap. (Can I cross my fingers and hope for the best? Yes?) Ehh, I hope it's enjoyable! And that I haven't utterly demolished all your desires that it would fulfil your ChromxRobin needs…

..

The soft sigh that escaped Robin's lips was one of complete contentment and echoed by the man she was currently curled up against. She was at utter ease and the feeling of being able to relish in the warmth, uncaring of all else, was welcome.

Awake, but with eyes still shut, she let her hand drift from its position on her lover's chest to trace the angle of his jaw. She knew it had not been a dream; his physical presence both under her head, around her waist and the heat from him was confirmation enough, but still she indulged in being certain.

Slowly, her eyes opened and instantly, a smile rose on her features, touch confirmed with appealing visuals. Laying her palm flat against his chest, she watched it rise with his long breaths before moving to the taut planes of his stomach. Rising up onto her elbow, the covers slipped from her shoulder, leaving her bare. But she held no concern for her nakedness, instead choosing to sweep her gaze over his toned form. She had seen him naked before, and brief though the time had been, it had engraved a very detailed image into her mind. But that oft visited image could not compare to the satisfaction she had upon looking at him now.

She had always found him handsome; with features well composed and befitting his princely nature, it was hard not to find him appealing. She wouldn't admit it so openly as Sumia or Cordelia would and had earned herself the reputation of being uncaring of those of fine form, but there was no denying his attractiveness. But for all the ogling she had done, never had she just truly looked at him, and now she found herself quite unable to stop looking

And yet, it was so much more than his features that had them where they were now. Freely gazing at him, she still marvelled at how easily she could touch him and lay claim to him – know that he was hers and the favour was retuned.

Her smile curved into a grin as she was met with the urge to laugh. An amnesiac tactician and a prince lying in bed having… She paused, wondering how best to end that conjecture. They had hardly made the sweet, gentle love she had read so poetically crafted in Sumia's novels. Their passions had rivalled the need for delicacy and Robin hadn't minded that carnal lust that had driven their touches or the ferocity at which he had claimed her lips and body.

Yet she rejected the more lewd words, for between it all, Chrom's chivalrous nature had been apparent. From the permission he had sought before dragging his fingers between her legs and the soothing reassurances he had made once his body had joined with hers. There was an ache still residing low in her abdomen, and although uncomfortable, knowing the reason behind it made it almost pleasant. It hadn't been graceful and coordinated as stories would have led her to believe. If anything, those first moments had been clumsy, awkward and at times, hilarious. But they had laughed together, learnt together and once the initial rush had been sated, time had been spent to learn and explore. It was likely far from perfect, but with no previous knowledge or experience to rely on, Robin was certain there was no feeling better than the one Chrom had given her.

She caught her lip between her teeth, memories of the previous night sparking her need once more. Chrom's gentle rise and falls of breath weren't indication enough to know if he slept, and whilst perhaps a part of her recognised he needed sleep, the greater part of her was too impatient.

Dragging her hand down from his stomach, she traced the line of hair that begun at his navel and slipped her hand under the sheet to further her touch.

Chrom's hand suddenly grasped hers, pulling it to his mouth where he proceeded to press a kiss to the back of her palm. "Good morning," he greeted, his polite smile becoming decidedly lupine as his eyes raked over her bare form.

"Mm," Robin agreed, sliding herself over so that she was draped over him. She relished in the feeling of his arms not hesitating to situate themselves across her back. "It is a good morning."

If she had expected to feel guilty at placing their needs before the encampment, then they were lost as she took in the desire in Chrom's eyes. Even his smile held the edge of a smirk and that alone was enough to rouse delightful anticipation of what was sure to come.

Her head dripped low and his hands rose to her face as he kissed her soundly back. Shifting her position to better feel his body beneath hers, she became aware his need that manifested itself in a more physical format than her own. Robin pulled back just enough to break away, but not so much that her lips left all contact. "Eager are we?"

Chrom chuckled. She had seen his pleasure, been the receiver of it and he felt no shame in letting her be fully aware of how desirable she was. She gasped as his hands cupped her backside. "I was about to ask you the same thing."

She hummed in response and kissed him again. "We have time…"

The suggestion was said in confidence, but neither of them truly knew if time was on their side. It was a wonder that they had yet to be disturbed, but with the Plegian sun still brightening the tent, it was difficult to even know what time of day it even was. It should have been concern at being caught in the forefront of their minds, followed by a quick redressing and crafted façade of normalcy should they be disrupted. Yet when Chrom smirked, yanked her close and rolled so he could look down at her, Robin could only grin in excitement.

Twice was not enough to learn the minutia of where she enjoyed his touch most, but her pleased hitches of breath as his lips descended to her neck was all the motivation Chrom needed. His mouth trailing a path down the column of soft skin, he brought his hand to sweep across her stomach before curving around her breast. His intentions were clear as his body shifted to accommodate his movements and soon, her quiet gasps became a begging pant of his name.

Her body arched, pressing herself against him as his teeth grazed the skin of her breast. When his mouth closed around her nipple, his fingers mirroring the motion of his mouth on her other breast, he felt the burst of male satisfaction to hear her so breathlessly cry, "Chrom…"

Never one to be so easily outdone, he had expected her hands to wander but still it came as a surprise when they finally did. His answering groan was guttural and where her mouth reached to kiss him, he could feel her smirk as her fingers continued to stroke and her palm continued to gently follow his length.

"Robin…" he grounded out between clenched teeth, longing and need rolled together in those two syllables.

She didn't respond with words but parted her legs further and lifted her hips up into his. Her desire was tangible in more than just her darkened eyes and beautifully flushed skin. The soft whimper she gave as he touched her entrance was still new to him and to hear her gentle sounds of surrender, he could not imagine anywhere else he would rather be.

Her hand around him, she guided him fully into her, both releasing a heavy exhale as their bodies accommodated the joining once more. Slowly, she rolled her hips up, taking great pride in seeing the pleasure present itself on Chrom's features. The feeling of him inside her not quite yet something she was used to, but once the initial pain abated, it was decidedly a sensation she enjoyed.

Not once in her slight adjustments did Chrom move or press her and his patient control astounded her as it did make her love him more. Only when she pressed a hand to his cheek and leaned up to kiss him did Chrom finally relent to his need. Yet still he was careful, taking his time to sink fully into her before easing himself back out. It was maddening to not allow his desire to take dominance, but the cries of pleasure she gave as his hips met hers was enough to keep those needs at bay.

That was until she wove her fingers into his hair and looking into his eyes, whispered her command for him to go faster, harder.

Chrom could only gladly comply, any lingering control slipping as he rocked against her. His hands grasped at her hips as her legs lifted to wind around his back, taking him deeper. He groaned, the feeling of her, tight and wet, around him almost making him loose himself there and then.

Her cries of his name were said in a mantra in time with his thrusts and he melded his lips over her own, swallowing them before they could become louder. The sounds of flesh meeting flesh and the creaks of the pallet beneath them filled the tent, broken only by her whimpers or his groans.

He could feel his release building, a heady kind of feeling that had his movements becoming faster as they became more erratic. Her hips shifted and her beg of, "Yes! Right there!" as she bucked up and tensed around him was the catalyst to his own climax.

His body collapsed onto her, completely spent. Her breaths came in pants as she basked in the afterglow, her fingers idly tracing the planes of his shoulders. It was a while coming before he had the strength to lift himself off of her, but as he rose, she tugged him back down.

It was then, in that moment with her eyes bright, smile gleaming and hair fanned out around her that he had another urge. Subtler than the one before, but no less important, he opened his mouth, ready to tell her those three simple words. She took his momentary lapse to throw her arms around his neck and kiss him.

Whatever he had intended to say was lost in the haze of pleasure, but when he looked into her eyes and saw the emotions there that he was certain he was feeling, he was sure she already knew.

"Cough it up; the money is mine."

"Nu-uh, Robin definitely took the first move!"

"Indeed! The fair lady offered her virtue in a way that mere mortals, much less the prince, could decline!"

"Fools. Chrom would not be subjected to the whims of a woman. It is him who would have made the step."

"Face it folks, ole blue's got the charm."

"Hold on just a moment, Robin is-"

Sumia came to an abrupt halt, her words halted by the sudden presence of Panne. The taguel, as ever, looked simultaneously disinterested and disdainful. Yet for all the distaste practically rolling off of her, her next words, instead of being entirely scathing, were actually damn useful; "You may wish to silence your useless wittering. The metal man-spawn is on his way."

The silence in the air hung for a moment, and if they had been looking, they'd all have seen the tumbleweed roll on by. Then it erupted into loud protests and yells that ranged from "pfffft" to "WHAT THE HONEST HECK?!" before hands were quickly clasped over mouths. A few curse words were also released, as was the silent prayer to Naga that may she spare their heads if Frederick did suddenly find out. They were the Shepherds! Paragons of bravery, skills and technique. But trying to explain why they were all huddled together outside the command tent, ears pressed as close to the flaps as they dared and tongues poked out in concentration was hard to explain to any sane person, much less Sir-embodiment-of-the-knightly-code-Frederick.

"But hadn't Lissa intended to distract him until we could be certain of well… um…"

"Well maybe Lissa got bored? Frederick is no fun to play with. At all," Nowi huffed.

"The task was to distract him, a feat most difficult but one Lissa believed she had full ability of doing," came Cordelia's voice.

Vaike guffawed, "Guess the gal got bored of him." Then continued much to the Pegasus knight's great mortification, "Looks like it's up to you, Cordy to tell us what went down on the riverbed."

"I told you, had you the decency to have listened: when Nowi and I arrived, they were speaking amicably with one another."

"Nah, they definitely did the dirty! Did ya not see ANYTHING?"

"Nope! They were boring as always, no fu~"

Stahl quickly clamped a hand over Nowi's mouth, his eyes as wide and expression as appalled as the others. The manakete yanked his hand away with a puff, eyes narrowed and mouth pinched into a frowning pout. "I'm not a child! I'm older than all of you combined! I know exactly what you humans enjoy doing, though why you call it~"

"AHEM!" Cordelia coughed loudly, blushing as all heads swivelled around to face her. "As I said, there was nothing happening between our captain and tactician…"

"A logical deduction. Given the periodicity of vaso-vagal episodes experienced in the lord's presence, it can be discerned that greater exposition would have generated a greater ailment." Miriel pushed her glasses up, her infrequent smile quirking the corners of her lips; likely satisfied at her conclusion. Even if the result wasn't understood by anyone outside of her brain.

"Uh, what?" said Nowi, Vaike, and Ricken amongst several others.

"Cordy passes out when Chrom's nearby. Had he been naked or topless, she'd probably have died. Got that?"

"Brutally effective as always, Sully," Stahl commentated.

"Well damn," Vaike sulked. "I was kinda hoping that what was going down was Chrom on~"

"Hey, um, guys. Panne did just say Frederick was on his way, right? Shouldn't we move now?" Ricken added from somewhere at the back, the bobbing of his hat the only indication he was even present behind the taller Shepherds.

"The kid's right," said Sully, the protest at the title from the young mage ignored as she continued, "Gods knows what the lieutenant's idea of punishment will be."

It was then that the patter of boots against the sand caught their attention. The huffs and exhaled "wooo," was indication enough to whom the boots belonged to, but still they all looked up. "Running. In a. Dress. Soooo not…. A good… idea. Urgh, and I probably now smell of sweat too. Damn sun."

Heaved over with her hands on her knees, it was a while before Lissa rose her head to meet the inquiring gazes of the Shepherds. When she did, her eyes widened, "Woah, you were all real eager to see who the winner was, huh?" She smiled smugly. "Please, we all know Robin won. Chrom's too much of an idiot to make the first move."

Cordelia stepped forward, halting the princess before she could continue to descend further into her tangent. "Do you come bearing news of Sir Frederick's whereabouts?"

"What? Oh right! Freddy and me were just happily watching the clouds and trying to find good shade spots, when he gets all bossy and says he needs to "attend to his lord." I told him 'nu'uh, Freddy, your day is with me,' but eh, trying to keep Frederick still is like trying to put a wyvern in a cage – it aint gonna happen."

"So he is on his way right now?" Cordelia clarified.

"Yep! Well, after he's done picking up the pot of rice I accidently tipped over. I totally just bought you all at least five minutes to scamper. Come on, say it – I'm awesome. In fact, you all don't even need to tell me. I already know I am." Lissa grinned at them all.

"Is the knight searching for our leader or our fairest tactician?" Virion asked.

"Probably both by now. They're always together, so it make sense to look for one and find the other in the process."

"Hmm," the archer mumbled lowly, hand cupping his chin thoughtfully.

"Well," Gaius, taking a long pull of his current lollipop. "I dunno about you guys, but I'm out of here before nanny can get his knickers in a twist. You coming, Stumbles?"

"Oh! I mean, yes, of course!"

The look Sully passed to Gaius spoke all kinds of volumes as she glanced between him and the inadvertent way he moved closer to Sumia. The thief only raised an eyebrow and pointedly looked at her and the easy way Vaike had slung an arm around her shoulder.

If he'd ever thought the so named "bull and panther" were a thing, he'd been quickly proved wrong after seeing the supposed attempt at flattery Vaike had given. (Gaius had doubted his "you made me care about someone more than just me!" would have worked, but hey, love worked in mysterious ways.)

That, and the longing glances the green knight had shared with the dancing babe back at Ferox was indication enough to the duo's platonic relationship. He rather hoped the gal –Olivia was it?- would cross their paths again. Her refined palate was the perfect companion needed for his culinary masterpieces. And he liked Stahl – the man had introduced him to chocolate dripped nuts and they'd been fast friends since – it'd be good to see the man shack up with the pretty lil thing.

"Oh! I've just remembered! Gaius, I have these honey drizzled scones to show you. They're a little too sweet, but I-"

"Stumbles," Gaius calmly interrupted. "For starters, your cooking is superb and secondly, sweet is my middle name." And with that, ignoring the smirk off Sully, he took her hand and whisked her off to where he was sure the sweet goods lay.

"Well…" Robin began. "Sounds like everyone knows."

"Yep."

"They don't sound bothered about it. If anything, the matter of money rather than their captain and tactician sleeping together is their main priority."

"Pretty much."

"I don't know whether to be relieved or a little alarmed. Are they truly more concerned about winning a bet than knowing they'll be marching safely into battle?"

Chrom just shrugged, keeping her back pressed against his chest and peppering her neck and shoulder with kisses.

"Are you even listening?"

"Of course I am, love. Your skin just happens to have taken precedence over knowing what runs through our comrades minds at times."

Robin went to huff, knowing it was unlikely he had heard more than a few words, but found a smile was controlling her mouth instead. "'Love'?"

Chrom pulled back and when she turned to look at him over her shoulder, his mouth was tugged into a frown. "Should I call you something else?"

She was quick to shake her head no. Rolling until she laid on her back, she propped herself up on her elbows. There, she placed her hand on his face and kissed him softly. "No. I like it." The one word had her stomach tight with emotions odd but certainly not unpleasant and she couldn't name and didn't feel necessary to. She could guess them well enough. "It just still feels surreal to be here, laying with you. It feels like a dream."

The lord smirked and dipped his head towards hers. "Should I remind you that it isn't?"

Her hand came to rest on his lips before he could make any more movement. "Tempting, but no. We need to get up," she added, laughing at the face he pulled. "The others may be well aware of how we are spending our time, but loathe though I am to admit it, our duties extend beyond pleasing one another. You've got an army to run and I've tactics to plan. That and Frederick is supposedly on his way."

Chrom sighed. "Right as always. Why did I have to fall for someone so smart?"

She smiled impishly. "Because opposites attract."

"Hmm, I suppose they… hey, wait! What is that supposed to mean?"

Robin laughed and pushing their covers back in one quick motion – her rationalisation was that fast movements would save her from being drawn back by temptation – got out of bed. "You know I mean it only in jest, my dorky prince."

She silenced his dawning protest by leaning down and pressing a kiss to the tip of his nose. And instantly, she regretted it. He looked so damn good! With his hair mussed from sleeping and sex and that glorious body that was demanding the touch of her hands, she wanted to tackle him and never let him go. Her teeth bit her lip, knowing they needed to get dressed but…

Chrom smiled; a tug at the corner of his mouth that made him far too devilishly handsome. Aware of her eyes drinking in his every movement, he languidly rose from the bed, his smirk growing with every step he took closer to her.

With a gentle tug, he had her back in his arms and his mouth ghosting across her clavicle. Following the curve of her spine, his hands came to rest on the low of her back, following round to press his thumbs into the hollow of her hips.

Her soft whisper of his name was less of a command and so much more of a plea for him to continue. Her next words were lost as she tipped her head back and gave a breathless sigh.

Taking the chance to graze his teeth against the arched skin of her skin, he knew what she had asked, but still he teased by murmuring lowly, "Speak louder, my love. I couldn't hear you over your moans."

She made a sound of disapproval and gradually tilted her head so that she could meet his eyes. "I said, kiss me already."

He didn't need any more encouragement. Yanking her close, his lips had only begun to brush hers when he heard the unmistakable noise of an all-too-familiar voice. Robin froze and Chrom could have murdered something.

"Milord? Are you in there?"
