AN: So just a heads up... This story is going to be rather mushy and happy. And since they only just started to sort of date there won't be yaoi for a little while cause kanda is thoughtful.

"So why did you move to Japan?" Kanda asked as the two were walking back towards the inn they were staying at. Allen looked up thoughtfully to the sky with a soft smile.

"Well I needed to get out of London... And decided to go on an adventure... change the scenery... For the most part it wasn't so bad... I've grown as a person since I left London..." Allen said thoughtfully as he stared down at the path to make sure he didn't trip or anything. Kanda watched Allen out of the corner of his eye. He could tell there was something hidden behind what Allen said. It was clear by how Allen had said that he needed to get out of London and how he seemed to be avoiding looking at Kanda.

"I see... So you are happy about moving to Japan...?" Kanda asked watching Allen as they walked. Now that Kanda thought about it, despite how long they had been working together Kanda knew very little about Allen. That was sort of the person Allen was, personal and private, same as Kanda.

"Yeah... I kinda miss Marian... we talk a lot but its not the same as physically getting to see him and talk to him. But otherwise yeah. I'm happy. Enough about me... Tell me something about you." Allen smiled softly over at Kanda liking the walk but not the part where he was doing most of the talking.

"There's not much to tell about me... I'm adopted same as you. My parents died in a car crash and there was no one family wise to take me in so I ended up in an orphanage. Tiedoll was a foster parent who worked with a few orphanages taking in the kids who were too angry or too old to be easily adopted. I was one of those too angry and bitter to be adopted, I was ten when my parents died too so also too old. So the orphanage told Tiedoll about me and he agreed to foster me and ended up adopting me. He has two other kids he fostered and adopted too, Marie and Daisya. We've lived in Japan my whole life." Kanda gave a brief summary of some of his life as they were making their way back to the inn.

"Have you ever had a boyfriend?" Allen asked deciding to leave the sad part of Kanda's life alone for now. Well that was his goal anyway but he quickly learned that he and Kanda had a lot in common.

"I did once. His name was Alma... but he ended up killing himself. Rather than tell anyone how bad his home life was... he let it build up until he couldn't take it anymore..." Kanda answered with a heavy sigh. That was harder to talk about than his parents because he felt like he had let Alma down. Kanda wished that Alma had talked to him so that he could try to save Alma but Kanda had never had a clue until it was too late. Alma had always seemed so happy and excited to be alive. That thought made Kanda stop catching Allen's wrist sort of yanking Allen to a stop.

"Kanda?" Allen asked after catching himself as the sudden yank almost pulled him down. He hadn't expected Kanda to pull him to a stop so he had been caught off guard. He was a little worried Kanda was upset about talking about Alma, which Allen had been trying to switch to a better topic but epically failed at doing so.

"Are you okay?" Kanda asked catching Allen off guard once again.

"What?" Allen asked turning to face Kanda letting Kanda hold his wrist. He wasn't sure why Kanda was asking if he was okay. Maybe it was because their lives were so similar about being adopted, losing people in a car crash and a significant boyfriend to suicide.

"I just... nevermind." Kanda said shaking his head letting Allen's wrist go and started walking again. After Alma died Kanda closed himself off to almost everyone and acted like he didn't care about anyone but actually he was more focused on people, their mood, body language, everything, to make sure that no one was secretly hurting and in danger again. As he was talking and thinking about Alma, Kanda had realized that Alma and Kanda were a lot alike with their fake smiles and happiness. So now Kanda was a little worried about Allen.

"Hey... Kanda." Allen called as Kanda started to walk away. It was his turn to stop Kanda by grabbing his wrist. Kanda stopped and turned to face Allen waiting to hear what Allen said as Allen sounded concerned. "I'm okay... I'm really happy with life..." Allen said after a moment. It had dawned on Allen when Kanda refused to answer that Kanda was worried Allen was secretly unhappy and possibly suicidal. But Allen had never thought about killing himself. Yes there were times his life sucked but he knew he needed the hard or bad moments in life to better appreciate the good times. He had good friends and a loving father so Allen didn't feel sad or alone. And he had someone he cared for deeply so he had no intentions of going anywhere or doing something to hurt the people he cared about.

"Okay..." Kanda responded as he took Allen's hand into his and led Allen back to the inn. When they got back to the inn everyone else was awake eating breakfast in Tyki and Lavi's room so Allen and Kanda joined then but didn't eat as they had eaten earlier.

"So... where did you two go?" Tyki asked as he had been the one to find the note from Kanda that they had gone for a walk. He had been the only one to see that Allen and Kanda were holding hands when they walked into the room but had soon let go.

"We walked a few paths, sat by the lake... It's really nice. You guys should do it too." Allen answered with a smile as they all were sitting around eating and talking.

"Sounds fun. Why were you two up so early though?" Lavi asked which made Kanda and Allen give him a fed up sort of look.

"Because we weren't really able to sleep... Plus I had to call my dad at a reasonable time for him." Allen replied with a sigh. He was rather tired and it was Lavi and Tyki's fault.

"And at the crack of dawn is a reasonable time?" Lavi responded not seeing the logic in Allen's answer.

"Well he lives in London so actually it was ten at night for him." Allen pointed out deciding to lay down on the floor and rest his eyes.

"Its our fault you didn't sleep isn't it?" Tyki asked as Allen laid down on the floor. Kanda and Allen answered that question with a yes at the same time. Both Tyki and Lavi apologized at the same time. Once everyone was done eating they decided to go walk around like Allen suggested but Allen and Kanda stayed behind to take a nap. At around noon Allen woke up from his nap when his phone started ringing. Allen tried to answer the phone quickly so the ringing didn't wake Kanda up who was asleep on the other side of the room.

"Hello?" Allen answered clearly half asleep.

"It's midday there isn't it? Did you go back to sleep?" Cross asked making Allen sit up with a groan.

"Yeah... Our neighbors were a little loud last night so it was hard to sleep last night. So I was just taking a nap. What's up?" Allen asked rubbing his eyes and yawning a little. He was definitely feeling more rested which helped.

"Nothing I just figured I'd give you a call since our call was so short earlier. But I can let you go back to your nap." Cross offered feeling bad for waking Allen up. He had just assumed that since it was noon in where Allen was that Allen would be awake.

"No it's fine. I can't sleep all day." Allen responded so Cross and Allen had a nice casual conversation for a while before Cross had to get ready for work which ended the call. During the call Kanda had woke up even though Allen had been really quiet. With both of them awake they went for a walk again and joining up with their group spending most of the day roaming around spending time down by the lake as well. When it came closer to dinner time the group took another bath in the hot springs which Allen enjoyed more than the one yesterday since the creepy guy wasn't there this time.

"So... I have to ask... were you two holding hands earlier?" Tyki asked as he sat in the hot spring with Lavi in his lap like yesterday. Kanda and Allen both looked at each other than to Tyki and Lavi.

"So what if we were?" Kanda retorted with a scoff looking off to the side while Allen was blushing.

"Wait what? Really? How did I miss that? When was that?" Lavi asked looking back and forth between his boyfriend and the sort of couple.

"Earlier when they came back from their walk this morning." Tyki answered kissing Lavi's cheek. Lavi started on a chatter about Allen and Kanda being a couple as he had always thought that they liked each other and wondered why they hadn't started dating sooner but Allen and Kanda had no comment on the matter. After the bath as they were all eating dinner together with Lavi still pestering Allen and Kanda until Tyki made him leave them alone about it since he worried if Lavi kept bugging them it would stress them out too much or annoy them too much and they wouldn't end up officially going out.
