Wow guys I am SUPER sorry I haven't been posting. I was without a laptop for a while and then my Ipod wouldn't let me post. So hopefully I will be updating EVERYTHING as soon as I can. Please don't be angry at me. I will be posting on a regular basis now. So without further wait here is the next installment of "Old Promises,New Regrets"! I DO NOT OWN ANY CHARACTER BUT MY OC'S
"So 10 years ago you left her there thinking you would come back, you went AWOL,became a superstar, screwed anything with a pulse and now you want to be her friend? Are you fucking insane?!" John asked Randy from his spot on the bed.
"No,but friends is where we started before. This is my second chance with this girl. Only she isn't a girl anymore, she is a woman. But I swear any time I see her Im a teenager again." Randy smiled sheepishly as he sprayed himself quickly with cologne. Just the thought of being with Summer was sending his heart into a gallop. He could already see those big green eyes looking striking next to her black hair, her body like a perfect hourglass with fat in the right places. Something about her made her shine besides her amazing looks. It was that personality he loved, how she was always honest even if it was mean. Not scared to stand up to anyone including him.
"Dude, why didn't I know before? Lydia and I talked and she filled me in but still." John shrugged a bit and pointed "Shirt has a stain on the back by the way."
"Because it isn't something I really like to talk about. I mean I left her standing at a bus station man. I loved that girl and I didn't come back as I promised." Randy answered as he changed his shirt, checked one last time and took a breath. It was time to talk to Summer. To fix his mistake.
"Well goodluck." John smirked and turned to the Tv. Randy left the room as his heart kicked into over drive and he headed to Summer's room.
Summer strapped on her shoes with a sigh. As the time got closer for her date she regretted it. How could she sit across from him, look at him, and talk to him? Explain all of the years between their separation. How she had never forgiven him and that drove her to focus on her work. She supposed in a way she should thank him. But she couldn't. She couldn't even think of thanking him after what he had done.
"Keep biting you lip and it will fall off." Lydia said as she leaned against the bathroom door. She smiled kindly to her friend understanding what she was going through.
"Yeah well what can I say?" Summer replied with a grin, thankful for her friend. "I was thinking of going cannibal and wanted to try it out on myself first."
"Who on Earth would try it on themselves first?" Lydia wondered out loud with a disgusted look on her face.
"Well eventually someone would eat me so why not be the first?" Summer volleyed back and wiggled her eyebrows. Lydia looked at her for a moment then laughed. Summer soon joined in with delight, happy to have a friend like Lydia who made her laugh so easily. Yet when she stopped the events of tonight was looming.
"You need this. The closure I mean. You can't keep looking over your shoulder at every event hoping not to see him. It is good that you're doing this Summer." Lydia spoke softly to her friend but knew her words had an impact when Summer started to nod at the words.
Summer knew she did need this. But needing and wanting were two different things. All she could think about was what if she fell for him again? She couldn't handle that. She knew she couldn't and nor could her heart. Before Summer could voice this to Lydia a knock interrupted their talk. She stood and walked to the door, took a deep breath and opened it. She was as nervous as she was for their first date so long ago. When he showed up with white daisy's and that smile. For a moment she was transported to that night, could see a younger Randy smiling at her sheepishly and handing her flowers. Could smell the cologne he used to wear mixing with that sweet smell. And just like that she was transported back to the present. Randy was still standing there with that sheepish little smile.
"Ready to go? I thought we could get some veggie burgers, you're still vegetarian right?" It came out in a rush and Summer smiled at his nervousness.
"Yeah I am still vegetarian." Summer replied as she grabbed her jacket and stepped out into the hall. It was quiet as they walked down the hall.
Looking at Randy sideways she had no way how she was going to make it through this dinner. But she knew it would be one for a late night talk with Lydia.
