A/N: Hi Outcast here I want to clarify a few things. Firstly, a reader commented that Regret is not a colour and I would like to say that they were not given a colour because the Tenno are at least 300 Years old, so they do not follow Remnant's colour rule (there will be some BS made up by Ozpin as cover because of this). Also, I realised after publishing the first chapter that I only had 3 characters hence REG but I don't want to change the title because it may confuse people who are not following but are still reading along. However, I will be adding another Warframe to make it REGT (even though the title won't change) which means either Titania or Trinity will soon be arriving but won't start at Beacon straight away. Also in this chapter, I start to add some context and well its definitely OC and this is because I want there to be a prevalent theme of regret.
I apologise for the confusion. But enjoy...
Chapter 4: The truth behind the figures.
Excalibers POV
Shortly after our arrival on the planet's surface both me and Rhino were met with fists to the faces, of course, I was sent flying into a tree but Rhino's Iron Skin took the hit and dissipated with the excess force sending him a few feet back I got up and looked towards what flung me across the clearing only to see a very angry, large chested, blond girl staring at Rhino trying to work out why he wasn't sent flying like I was through the concept of a fight between Rhino and this apparent brawler (who looked a little older than me) was bringing up some humorous thoughts I was contacted by Ordis who notified me that the Operator we rescued was awake and was descending to the planet's surface using her Arch-Wing due to her ship being in disrepair.
After the talk with Ordis, I got up and jogged to Rhinos side smacking the back of his head to break his staredown with the blond, not taking kindly to this he spun on his heels and with an aggressive tone demanded "What do you want!? I was 10 seconds away from stomping this person into the ground!" I decided not to respond but simply pointed upwards he looked upwards and murmured "how the fuck does she have that for her Arch-Wing" I decided to look up to curious as to what he meant only to see the new Warframe descending at high speed with a custom Odonata Prime Arch-Wing it had its energy shell ability active to prevent the user from suffering from heat damage allowing for a much faster descent than me and Rhino had we used out Arch-Wings as we used the Iztal and Elytron respectively. When the newly recovered Warframe landed she simply nodded towards us not even talking via telepathic link which confused both me and Rhino but who were we to judge she just woke up in her Landing craft, located somewhere in unknown space, with two unknown Tenno as the only company, of course, she would be in shock and struggling to talk so whilst Rhino and the humans admired her designs I decided to look around.
The first thing I noticed was that the trees were healthy and bright green similar to the Silver Grove where I found Titania I made a mental notes that there was definitely no Grineer on the planet but also the fact that the populace had heads and was not going on about debts meant there was no Corpus here as well, however, there is definitely a new form of Infested here. I was bought out of my thoughts when a floury of rose petals blew around me and my HUD notifying me that my akmagnus pistols being removed from my leg mounts looking ahead to the waypoint I saw the girl we just saved inspecting the dual revolvers and getting a feel for them, of course, I didn't mind but I became concerned when she aimed them bracing herself to fire them I went to stop her but before I could even take a step she had pulled both triggers and with the wrong stance alongside the recoil of both revolvers she was launched backwards, thinking fast I sprinted as fast a possible to catch her before she hit the ground. I ended up reaching her and catching her in the arms of the frame, of course, she had knocked herself out from the shock but otherwise, she was perfectly fine walking back towards the group who only just saw what happened the blond raced over calling out to the young girl but with no response she turned to me and with one if the most drastic mood swings I had ever seen demanded to know what happened in response I turned and looked at the two revolvers lying in the grass. She realised what I was trying to say and calmed down and simply sighed murmuring "that stupid weapon fetish is going to kill someone someday. Oh and sorry for accusing you." the last part was barely audible but thanks to the Warframe I was able to understand it and simply nodded my head.
After a while of standing with the girl in my arms, I went to hand her to the blond but received a scoff and an explanation that consisted of "your weapon's your problem dude, basically you're going to have to carry here all the way back to Beacon" of course no one else offered so I was left to carry the teen al the way back to this Beacon place.
Ruby's POV
1 hour after blacking out
The last thing I remember was pulling the triggers of the guns and flying backwards before nothing but darkness for what I thought was a few minutes, however, when I woke up I felt arms under my knees and around my back with the elbow supporting my neck and seeing Beacon academy no more than a hundred feet away with Yang… in front.. Of me not carrying me, wait then who is carrying me, I slowly turn my head to see one of the things that saved me carrying me, then he looked down seeing I was ok looked to be realising a long-held breath, most probably because of Yang threatening him though he still didn't put me down until we were in the medical room and I got examined for any spinal injuries thankfully I was perfectly fine and afterwards we were called to Professor Ozpin's office to discuss our new 'visitors'. Once we got to the lift we realised that it was going to be an incredibly tight fit after all of us had crammed into the lift we began our accent to Ozpin's office. Once inside it was almost obvious Ozpin was trying to deduce where these things came from. Eventually, Ozpin spoke up asking "are you human?" to which the figures all shook there head Ozpin followed up with another question this time to ask "so you are machines then? Some sort of confidential Atlas project?" the largest figure stepped forward and displayed one finger followed by a hand gesture for half-half then he bought up two fingers and shook its head Ozpin decided to clarify "so your half machine but not an Atlas project. Then if your not that what are you?" the figures all exchanged what could be assumed were nervous glances with each other before three people emerged with some form of twisting effect but because of the bright light emitted it was hard to tell what was happening but once the light died down we all stared slack-jawed at the two males and one female before us, even Ozpin's jaw dropped slightly before he recomposed himself and stated "you said you weren't human but here you three humans are in front of me" it was almost instantly afterwards that the two males burst in to laughter and the female let out a chuckle before the one in front of the biggest collapsed thing said in between laughter "were laughing… because you… you really think we're human." he composed himself before continuing "you know you would be correct we were human but that was centuries ago now were nothing more than organic killing machines meant to keep the peace, fight and die, he stated the last part with deadly seriousness Ozpin furrowed his brow about to ask something but I butted in asking "what do you mean centuries ago?" the other male answered "well you see centuries ago before we were born our humanity made leaps and bounds in space exploration and genetic editing the rich changed them selfs so much they became the perfect humans or Orokin and it became a sort of caste system Orokin at the top and workers or us at the bottom. But that's off topic one day the poor children were being transported to a new mine when a void jump went wrong most of the 60,000 on board died but about 10,000 survived and were genetically different we had abilities, and this scared the Orokin so they forced us into military service, called us sub-human named us as Tenno, and created the Warframe these giants behind us, we trained to use them but not long after we received the Warframes a new faction called the Sentient emerged, it was an AI hive mind that saw humanity as an infection that needed to be removed, and they threw all of humanity in to war and chaos it was a long and gruelling war that ended with the destruction of the Sentients with fewer than 500 Tenno survivors and with the Orokin weak we overthrew them to fulfil our job of maintaining peace and equality then we succumbed to exhaustion and eventually retired to cryo pods and slept for centuries. Is that a good enough explanation?" sadness laced his voice I could only nod to upset at there pasts to speak.
Ozpin eventually coughed gaining everyone's attention and spoke in a soft tone "I'm sorry for your loss and past trauma and I wish to help you but I'm going to need to know your names and ages before you went into stasis of course."
"My names Sam I am 16 and I control the Excaliber class Warframe," the tallest male stepped forward removing his mask to show a teen with faded blue hair, dark purple eyes and a scar running down the left side of his face.
"My names George I am 15, I control the Rhino Class Warframe," removing his mask every one but the Tenno gasped Rhino had Dark brown hair, a mechanical eye, a dark purple eye and small amounts of metal dotted around his face he joked saying "hey I know I'm dashing but don't look for too long" he gave it a few more moments before placing his mask back on. In reality, they were worried about if he had PTSD because the wounds looked painful.
Finally, all attention was on the female, "M… my name is Project Gemini I… I don't know my age but I guess about 16 and I control the Garuda class Warframe" although her mask was on they could see her dark blue hair with blond endings, once the mask was off they saw a tanned face clear of any scars and her eyes were again dark purple. And whilst this was happening I took note of George's visible hatred towards Gemini.
A/N: well there's some of my own OC lore and tension between George (Rhino) and Project Gemini (Garuda). Next chapter will introduce the fourth and final Warframe to the story. And Chapter 6 will then continue from the end of this chapter and explain the reason for me naming Garuda 'Project Gemini'.
Thanks for reading this chapter. Thanks also to Lolagejosh02 for proofreading. And have a Merry Christmas.
The Outcast is out.
