Chapter Four

Hope

I waited outside the door until I heard Jacob tell me to go inside. Seven people stood around a table but as I saw one the world seemed to tilt on its axis and suddenly we were the only two people alive. My world contained him and only him. Someone said something but I could not hear. I had to touch his hair and gently touched his hair. He shuddered and then his fingers were in my hair.

"Gross get a room." A voice said and I returned to my body shaking with rage at the stranger that had ruined the moment. I then saw that Paul was also trembling and it was so adorable that I had to kiss him. I kissed him gently on the lips he returned the kiss and deepened it. My world contained only him once more and I could again tell that someone was trying to speak but I could not hear it. I heard only his breathing in my ear. How could I feel this much for a stranger.

"I don't even know your name." I told him and he smiled.

"Its Paul." These two simple words were so beautiful, Paul the most beautiful name that I had ever heard.

"My name is Hope, I am Jacob's half sister." Everyone looked at me.

"Are you a wolf?" Paul asked and I nodded blushing. Everyone was staring at me. "How dare you stare at her?" He started to shake and I put a finger to his lips.

"I don't mind, it must be as confuseing for them as it is for me. This is wonderful." Your wonderful I gently touched his hand and he grasped mine.

"It is." He replied simply and together we walked over to a couch and sat down. It felt like seconds had passed when a young man appeared.

"Hey Paul, since your not quite so dreamy eyed, would you like to have something to eat? Its no fun without you, half the competition goes away." The young man said making me laugh, Paul had clentched his hands but his stomach had growled in the same instant. He put his arm around me.

"Have you eaten?" Paul asked and his stomach growled again everyone could hear it apart from him.

"Before we came but I will come with you." I told him and we walked together hand in hand to the kitchen where a huge pan of eggs was sitting. It was enough for forty people. The woman took a portion for herself and then the rest fell on the eggs, within moments it was cleared of even scraps. They had finished the whole pan in under five minutes, they looked up at me it was so comical I had to laugh. "Vanquished your eminy, if you attack the vampires as readily as you did those eggs there should be no more on this earth." This made everyone laugh and Paul turned to me egg on his cheek I nipped it off. "You have a little something on your cheek." They laughed even harder but then he laughed and I listened to that wonderful sound and felt myself laughing as well. This felt so right.

AN Yes Hope also has a bad temper and is easily emotional. She also has a vivid imagination and is unsure of herself.
