JADE POV

Walking back to the beach, the boys took the lead.

'Where are we going?' I asked turning to Lucy.

'Hey Red,' Edmund said pulling on the end of my braid, ' Narnian looks good on you.'

'I looked at him, raising an eyebrow.'Seriously? Alright, what do you want?'

'To make a deal with you,' he paused. 'If you can beat me in a sword fight, then then you can have a sword.'

'And if you win?' I asked curiously, not even considering the idea that I could lose.

'I get my man pride back,' he said off-handedly as peter began to lead us through the forest.

'Man pride? did you have any in the first place?' I asked, walking away.

'Hey Luce,' I said as she walked up to me, abandoning Peter 'How did the English Assignment go?'

'Mr Wright fell for it,' she said excitedly. I laughed as we began to do our secret handshake. To anyone other than the Pevensies or my sister it looked like a childish game, but they knew it was a sign of mischief.

'Jade, your such a bad influence,' Katy shouted from behind us.

'No she isn't. I make my own decisions,' Lucy protested before sticking her tongue out at them.

' So, Queen Lucy, does the Just King have any weaknesses?' I asked. If anyone new his weakness it would be Lucy.

'Why?' she asked cautiously, looking around. I got the feeling she was looking for an escape.

' We made a deal, to see, who would win a sword fight and if I win, I get a sword.'

'You? With a sword? Tell me your joking,' she said.

I didn't answer.

'If I told you, that would be cheating.'

' Yeah, and I want a sword.'

' I can't tell you, that'd be wrong.'

' Well...you could write it down. Technically you wouldn't be telling.'

'On what?' before I could even think of an answer, she shot me a cheeky smile. 'If I tell you, I'd have to tell him something about you.'

' Yeah, like what?'

'Like the fact that you used to like-' I slapped my hand over her mouth. I drew my face closer to her!

'Don't. You. Dare.'

KAITLIN POV

'Hey Su, whats the matter?' I asked noticing that she had been unusually quiet ever since we arrived in Narnia.

'Nothing,' she answered, avoiding my eyes. Something she did whenever she was lying. I shot her look.

'We've been bestfreinds since we were toddlers. I know that somethings wrong.'

'It's just that i go used to being back in England and well, now we're here.' she said with a sigh.

'You prefer it here, dont you?' i asked softly.

'It feels like home.'

'Well, if it helps, i prefer it here too.'

'Really? I thought you would have a hard time adjusting,' she admitted with a sheepish smile.

'Well, compare this,' I said, gesturing to the beautiful Narnian countryside with a smile. 'To the classroom back at school with Professor Johns rambling on and on.'

'And with Adam Jameson staring at you,' She said laughing.

'He doesn't stare at me,' I said, shaking my head.

'No, he's completely besotted with you,' she said ' Not to mention ridiculously handsome.'

'As if that's possible,' Said peter from the front.

'Didn't anyone ever tell you it's rude to eavesdrop?' I asked aware that Susan was doing that annoying knowing smile as Peter dropped back letting Edmund take the lead.

'Yes, but I'm King so I figured that it doesn't apply to me,' He said matching pace with me, no matter how often I changed pace, as Susan had gone over Jade.

'Well, your Highness,' I said mockingly. 'I'm not a Narnian, so your not my King.' I turned to walk away but a hand grabbed my elbow. I spun around, looked at Peters hand on my elbow, and raised an eyebrow.

'Do you mind?' I asked, locking my gaze with his.

'You're very rude, you know,' He said, ignoring that I had said anything. 'First you trip me and then you disrespect my royalty?'

I scoffed 'Offering to throw someone off a cliff is as well.'

'I was being helpful. It's only gentlemanly that I help you test your theory.'

'If that's gentlemanly, then its perfectly fine for me to walk around nude.' I retorted.

' Please don't. No-one needs to be traumatized. he said as I gaped at him. He sent me a triumphant smirk before walking over to Edmund.

Then suddenly, In the distance we heard two men's voices. The two brother's looked over at each other, before running towards the voices. Lifting the bottom of my dress, I followed Susan and the others, as we ran after the boys.

I gasped at what I saw. Two men were holding a gagged dwarf over the river as he struggled, futilely.

'They're going to throw him in.' I whispered in disbelief.

Susan loaded her bow and arrow.
