Visit 4: Lunch, Steak and a Bird
Aloha Minna! I am finally back (well hopefully at least). I finally wrote the next chapter for this omake and there will be only three more chapters. I hope that you guys will support it till the end!
Disclaimer: I don't own KHR at all… TT_TT
It was just another day in the hospital for Tsuna. Lately, he had been making progress and the staff said that he would be able to be discharged in a couple of weeks. On one hand, Tsuna was happy that he could finally be able to leave the place, but on the other, he was sad because he would have to leave all of these nice people behind. He also didn't know where he would end up going. In secret, he really didn't want to go to the orphanage because he had some feeling that it would be very lonley.*
"Tweet, tweet" came a call from the window. Tsuna turned to see the yellow bird that Hibari had saved. Ever since he had been brought to Tsuna's hospital room three days ago, the bird had come every day, usually when it was around meal times. Thinking that the bird was always hungry, Tsuna usually gave him the vegetables that were brought with his meal and the bird usually ate it and then just left.
This time the bird had shown up when Tsuna was waiting for his lunch to be delivered to his room. Although he is able to walk on his own already, he was still too weak to move for long periods of time, thus the reason he had this awesome room service.
Hearing the door to his room open up, Tsuna turned from admiring the yellow puff ball to see Hibari walk in with the tray that held his lunch. This was a bit surprising for him because Hibari never had brought his lunch before. It was usually Doctor Sasagawa or one of the female nurses of the hospital; all male staff were forbidden to enter the boy's room, which is a story for another time.
"Thanks, Kyouya-nii for bringing my food!" Tsuna gracious said. Looking towards the plate, he paused as he noticed something missing, at least most of it anyways. That day, the nurses had promised Tsuna that they would cook him something extra special because he was halfway through his stay; it was steak.
Looking from the tray to Hibari, Tsuna noticed that Hibari was chewing on something. Even though he was still a young child, he made the connection. Just as Hibari was about to try and eat the last piece of meat on the tray, Tsuna jumped from his bed and flew into the older boy. This made Hibari drop the tray (and the meat) to the floor, while both of them were tossing and turning, crossing limb over limb. It was obvious that Hibari had the upper hand; he was stronger and older than Tsuna and as he untangled himself from their little skirmish, he made his way over to the tray, only to fall flat on his face. It seemed that Tsuna had pulled the boy's leg out from under him and that had caused the tray to fly over to the open window. It landed right next to the wall below it.
When the boys were still trying to keep each other from grabbing the last piece of steak, a yellow blur had gone down and snatched it up. Upon looking closer, both of them realized that it had been the yellow bird that they had forgotten was there and to both of their surprise, the bird just swallowed the piece of meat whole. The BIRD swallowed it whole?!
"Tweet, tweet," started the bird. "Herbivores, herbivores" it had called before it had flown back out the window to its nest in the tree. Tsuna looked towards Hibari and started to laugh non-stop.
"Why are you laughing herbivore?" Hibari growled. Saying that sentence had only made Tsuna laugh harder and Hibari was growing more irritated.
"I'm laughing because he is just like Kyouya-nii!" Tsuna tried to get out in between fits of laughing. "I think that I'm going to call him Hibird because he likes to say herbivore too!" Just letting out an annoyed huff, Hibari left but not before commenting:
"Whatever herbivore." Though Tsuna didn't see the tug of a smile on the boy's face as he walked out, he just had a feeling that his Kyouya-nii liked it. Turning back to the window, Tsuna whispered towards the tree,
"Welcome to my family Hibird."
I thought this chapter was sort of lacking… but nevertheless I hope you guys enjoyed reading it. I would love to hear what you guys thought, so don't forget to leave a review! Also I know that birds can't eat things whole when they are younger and definitely not a piece of steak, but bear with me on it. Hibird is sort of like a super bird because he's just awesome like that. :)
*In this story, orphans are shunned in this world. They usually are never adopted by anyone because everyone is afraid that the people that killed the child's family would come after them. This world is unstable after all!
Ciao!
