Team 7 to the Rescue!

Link swiftly jumped through the branches. He was getting tired of chasing this kid around. Not only was he fast, but he also talked entirely too much. He would taunt Link every few minutes. Link glanced from side to side, he realized that the trees were getting thicker. He also realized he wasn't familiar with this part of the woods.

"Hey, are you trying to catch me or are you just following?" the kid asked with a playful smirk. Link growled and picked up speed. He was really going to thrash this kid. They jumped through three more acres before they came to a stop. Link landed on a branch, while his opponent was standing in the middle of... a lake? 'Was there always a lake here?' He wondered.

Link looked around. It looked like they were in a swamp in the woods. There was a large pond, easily a couple miles long. The water was murky, Link couldn't see anything beneath the surface. The surrounding trees were much larger than the trees Link was accustomed to. On one side of the lake was a large rock. The rock was massive, easily towering over 20 feet. Looking at this area carefully, Link figured that this could be a sanctuary of some type.

"Is this where you choose to fight?" Link asked. "You must have an affinity to water."

The boy looked at him and smiled. "You're pretty smart." He eye smiled with them held shut, it kind of reminded him of Naruto's Sensei. "Well, not that smart considering you followed me here." The boy held up his hands. "Look around you? Isn't it beautiful?" He took a few steps back while still talking. "This is more beautiful than the entire Mist. You guys just don't know how easy you have it."

Link glowered at the boy. He was getting antsy, he was ready for some action. He threw three kunai at the kid. The boy smiled as the kunai approached. He lazily caught all three with one hand. "You have to do better than that..." He mused.

"I can do much better!" Link sifted through a few hand signs. "Wind bullet!" He let loose a sphere of wind that was about the size of his torso.

"That's a decent attack." The blonde boy swiftly knelt and placed his hands in the water. "Water Wall!" A large wall gushed out of the water and blocked the bullet. Links eyes went wide. His bullet shattered every thing he's ever practiced on, how could this wall stop it!

"You didn't use any signs..." Link asked with curiousity. The boy stared at him with amusement in his eyes. A smile quickly fell on his face.

"You're right. Isn't it wonderful?" He waved his arm in the air and a trail of water followed it, rising from the water.

'This fight's gonna be harder than sparring with ten Naruto's.' Link thought.

Impa glared at the lady holding her prisoner. She could only watch in masked horror as Zelda swiftly ran to Kuro's side. Her heart was scared for her student, yet her face refused to show it. "Why are you doing this?" She asked in a deep monotonous tone. "What do you want with her?"

The lady shrugged her shoulders and started examining her nails. "Hey, we're just mercenaries. I don't care what they need her for, I just want the money. And besides." For a moment she glanced towards her two students. "It's nice practice for the young."

"You enjoy putting your young up for death?" Impa raised her voice on the last word. The lady simply chuckled.

"If they die, then they aren't worthy of being my students." She hissed dangerously.

Impa closed her eyes. She could only pray for her students safety as she devised a plan to escape.

"Din... Please be with us..."

Zelda sat over Kuro with her hands glowing gold. She slowly channeled healing energy into him. Kuro was wincing at the pain, his breathing was quick. Link sat in front of them, guarding them with a kunai.

Omi stood with his palms pushed together and his eye still shut. The girl looked away, her blue hair blowing slightly in the breeze.

"Are you okay?" Zelda asked Kuro. Kuro stood up, groaning slightly.

"I'm fine!" he replied as he winced in pain. "Your shield really saved me."

"Not completely," Link reminded him. "It seemed to recoil a bit."

"It's incomplete. I'm sorry." Zelda softly replied. The glow on her palms weakend slightly, as did her mood.

"It's fine, really!" Kuro gave Link a stare, one that told him to shut it. Link looked back at the opponents.

"You!" Link pointed at the bald kid. "I want to face you!" He waited a few seconds, but he didn't get an answer. "Answer me!" A few seconds later and there still wasn't a reply. Links anger boiled over. "You bastard!" He charged at Omi. Omi simply exhaled.

"Ice Lance!" Spikes of ice flew from behind Omi.

'Aw crap!' Link thought. He destroyed six spikes with his kunai. He twisted his body midair and the remaining ice flew past him. Link landed back on the ground and continued running towards Omi. Omi kept his eyes shut. Link cocked an arm back. As soon as he swung his arm to connect, he was struck by ice from behind, causing him to pop and disappear. The ice melted to the ground, causing small puddles to form.

"Mia, I didn't need your help!" Omi yelled at his partner without looking at her. "I am the superior!"

"I'm sorry, I just-"

Omi held up a hand, instantly hushing her. "I'm happy you chose to intervene. I would prefer to not hit the girl." He then glanced back at her with a look that could make the strongest ninja flinch. "I'll deal with you later."

Mia gulped. She shuddered lightly. Omi looked towards Kuro. "She may have given you life for the second, but I'm still going to have to get rid of you." Kuro held up both fists. It was time to fight fisticuffs. Both he and Omi let out war cries as they jumped at each other.

Omi swiftly blocked a right hook from Kuro. He jump kicked upwards and hit Kuro in the chin, causing his head to snap upwards. Omi punched Kuro in the stomach a few times and them kicked him onto the ground, causing him to slide a few feet.

Mia shot another barrage of ice at Zelda. Zelda blocked it with a small barrier. She jumped away and threw some kunai at the girl, but it was quickly tossed away by a few of the remaining icicles. Zelda swiftly went through hand signs.

"Spirit Barrage!" A large volley of energy flew towards Mia. Mia held her hands above her head and ice consumed her. The energy simply chipped off of the ice. The ice shattered after a few seconds with Mia standing in the center. " I can't hurt you, please just come with us." Mia held out an inviting hand.

Zelda stared blankly at the girl. She was scared, but she wasn't going to show it. "N-no." Zelda stammered out.

"Very well." Mia went through hand signs and put her hands on the ground. "Ice prison!" Zelda screamed and jumped away as chains burst out of the ground at her. She swatted away a chain with her kunai. Three more took its place, but she quickly blocked them with a barrier.

Kuro rose to one knee panting rapidly. He looked up at the chains of ice chasing his ally. 'Dammit, I should've learned a Jutsu!' He mentally yelled at himself. He watched as Zelda batted away another barrage of chains. She was slowing down, he could see that she wasn't going to last much longer. He looked at Omi.

Kuro was no fool, he knew that he would die if he continued to fight this kid. He growled lowly. Why wasn't he strong? He looked up as he heard a screech from Zelda. A look of terror fell on his face as he saw that a chain was wrapped around her wrist.

"Zelda!" He yelled. He ran towards her, but wasn't surprised as he felt Omi kick him hard in his stomach. Kuro slid back a few feet and fell to one knee. He heaved and held his eyes close, letting his body adjust to the pain. He heard another yell that caused his eyes to shoot open. He looked and saw Zelda being held by chains on both arms. Both of her legs were getting binded as well.

"It looks like we are complete." Omi said. He finally opened his eyes and glanced at Kuro. His eyes were small black beads. Kuro could see no emotion behind them. "You should be grateful that your life was spared." He turned to walk away. He suddenly stopped in his tracks.

"Fire style! Phoenix Fire Jutsu!" Omi turned and surrounded himself with water. He looked at where it was coming from and was surprised to see three kids.

"Sasuke! Naruto! Sakura!" Kuro yelled. He was happy to see the students. Sasuke stood cooly with his hands in his pocket. Naruto was beside him on all fours, snarling and looking around. Sakura stood behind Sasuke, her hands covering her mouth and her eyes wide.

"Where the hell is Link?" Naruto demanded. He scanned around the field as he asked.

"Back in the woods, he may be in danger!" Kuro pointed in the direction that Link entered, his hand slightly shaking.

Naruto looked at Sasuke. "You handle this! I'm going after Link!" He growled as he took off towards the forest. As he was running he looked over his shoulder and saw ice shards coming from behind. Naruto knew that he didn't have time to dodge it. He was shocked as he saw each of the shards explode. He stopped running and turned around, he sensed a familiar presence.

As if on cue, a lone figure landed in the middle of the field. Her long black hair hung loosely down below her waist. She wore Anbu garb, without the mask. Around her neck was a necklace with a charm in the shape of a horn. On the figures back was a purple rod, which was designed with gold stripes.

"Garnet!" Naruto yelled with excitement. "Thanks!"

She shooed him away. "Go get Link, we got it here." Naruto nodded and ran ahead. Garnet watched him until he disappeared into the brush. She pushed her hair behind her ear and turned towards Team 7.

"You guys, I'm going to leave saving Zelda to you, I'm sure with the great Sasuke that you can handle it." She turned and looked towards the older lady, who stared at her with a smirk. "I'll handle her."

Sasuke nodded and ran towards the girl holding Zelda hostage. He could see that she was bound by the arms by chains. He also could see that the other girl was the one controlling the chains. He crossed his arms across his chest and then threw out kunai, which was deflected by chains.

Sasuke decided to burn the chains, if they were ice then they had to melt... right?

He swiftly sifted through familiar seals. "Fire style! Fire ball Jutsu!"

Sasuke blew a large ball of fire at Mia. Mia didn't flinch, she just watched as it approached. Sasuke smirked, this was going to be too easy.

"Tsunami strike! Water!" Sasuke was shocked as the bald kid dashed in the way and became a tornado of water. His fire ball sizzled for a few seconds as it disappeared. Omi landed crouched and glanced up at Sasuke.

"I am Omi Xiao. I am your opponent." He said for the second time.

Sasuke smirked and stood into his ready stance. " I would introduce my self, but it would be pointless. You're not making it out of this fight." He looked back at the two remaining genin. "Don't get your ass kicked too bad." he said. He then turned back to Omi. "I usually don't pick on kids, but you started it Cheeseball."

Omi tensed up and glared at the Uchiha. "Don't dare call me Cheeseball!" He yelled as he ran at Sasuke.

Link was wrong. This was harder than sparring with one hundred Naruto's.

He currently was knelt panting. Everytime he would try to get close enough to land an attack, he was swatted away by the water. His wind bullet was useless, as was his ninja tools. Even though he was fast, speed was useless when the water was surrounding him.

"Hey I know that you aren't done yet. I haven't even broken a sweat." The kid taunted. He was currently surrounded by spikes of water, they floated around him.
He shrugged. "Oh well, I guess I'll get rid of you now." The spikes flew at Link.

"Crap!" Link quickly jumped back into the brush. He ran away, and flinched as he heard the branch behind him explode. He quickly made two clones while still running. The clones each went in opposite directions, but were quickly struck down by the water spears.

Link ran with desperation, he jumped and dodged two oncoming projectiles. He was shocked as they turned around and headed back at him. Thinking quickly, Link pulled out two explosive tags and threw them on the spikes. He growled feeling stupid as the water put out the explosives. Link crossed his arms across his chest, hoping to lessen the damage.

"Get out of the way!" Link felt a tug on his waist. He was then swung around and tossed backwards. He twisted his body and landed expertly on a branch. He glanced at his savior, and smiled as he saw the signature flash of orange. "Thanks bro." He said while throwing a thumb up. They both turned towards the forest. Six spikes were still rocketing towards them.

"I got this!" Naruto smirked as he crossed his fingers. "Shadow Clone Jutsu!" A dozen Naruto's filled the clearing that they were in.

"Can't catch me!" They all yelled. They, along with Link, all scattered. The clones each ran away, whilst Link ran straight back towards the lake. Luckily, the water spikes chased the clones.

"Slow down, wouldja?" Link turned and smiled at his fellow blonde genin. Naruto put forth a burst of speed to catch up to his companion.

Link slowed down to keep an even pace with Naruto. "Thanks. I almost was a goner there."

Naruto smiled wide. "Hey, what do you expect from the next Hokage?"

Link's face went serious. "This kid... he can use Jutsu without the use of seals." Naruto's smile slowly faded as Link spoke. Link's eyes were locked ahead. "He's standing on a lake, just beyond there. He uses the water as a shield, and a weapon. It can be used as a whip, or spikes as you've seen" Link paused, thinking of anything else to brief Naruto on. "He's not normal, Naruto."

Naruto stared at Link with a steeled expression. Link looked toward the kid and could see a glint in his blue eyes. He looked to be thinking very deeply. He watched as his friend's face twisted into a smile. "And neither am I!" Naruto growled as he and Link burst out of the forest. Link flipped forward and landed gracefully into a kneeled stance whilst Naruto burst out chest first and sloppily landed on two feet, nearly falling forward.

Nash chuckled at the two. A snake made entirely of water was sat on his neck. It was at least 20 feet in length, and nearly a foot thick. The snake worked it's way around his body, and along his outstretched arms. "It seems you brought a friend. Hey, I'm Nash." Nash waved a hand at Naruto.

Naruto growled. He pointed at Nash. "Don't talk to me like we're friends! It's too late too back out now!"

Nash smiled at the kid. 'Dang... I'm running low on power... this has to end soon,' he thought as he lowered himself to the water with his arms outstretched. The snake rose off of his back and stared the duo down. "Attack me, if you can that is."

Naruto growled. He really hated snobs. He jumped at the man with a fist cocked back.

"Naruto, no!" Link yelled at his partner. Naruto landed on the water and ran towards Nash. Nash smiled and rose his arms. The water formed thick whip-like structures that reached out for Naruto. Naruto jumped over a whip, while kicking another. He spun in the air, dodging one, and ducked as the water snake shot at him. Naruto landed, but quickly shot back up as two whips came from either side and crashed into each other. When mere inches from landing a clean punch, Naruto was struck from below by the water snake. Nash flinched slightly as Naruto burst into a cloud of smoke.

"Was that a shadow clone?" he asked.

Naruto smirked as he walked from the forest. "Yep," Naruto crossed his fingers, "and there's plenty more where that came from." In a puff of smoke, the surrounding woods were filled with Naruto's, each smirking at the kid in the water.

Nash's face drained. "Aww...crap!" He groaned as each Naruto let out a war cry and charged at him. Nash crossed his arms across his chest and was enveloped in a sphere of water. As the Naruto's got close, spikes flew out of the sphere, causing many to disperse. Nash laughed as the Naruto's stopped there assault. "You can't harm what you can't touch!" he yelled.

Link smirked. "And you can't dodge what's touching you!" Link went through four hand signs, ox, tiger, rabbit, and finally held monkey. He crossed his arms across his chest and inhaled. "Lightning breath!" He exhaled and strings of electricity flew out and headed straight towards the sphere.

Nash didn't have time to react as the electricity hit the bubble. He howled in excruciating pain as his body shook. The sphere around him dropped into the water, as did the snake and the whips that were still formed. Nash sunk into the water, and then bobbed his way to the top. Link and Naruto stared at the figure for a moment, making sure that he was unconscious.

"We did it," Link sighed with relief.

"Yea... now we gotta help the others. I swear if they hurt Sakura I'll..." Naruto froze as a shriek was heard from the direction of the training field.

"That's Zelda!" Link took off at his maximum speed.

"Hey, slow down!" Naruto tried to keep up, but he knew it was impossible.
