Chapter 4 - I Can't Believe This
~Seven Months Later~
"I want this one, Mommy!" Jesse grinned as she pointed to a box of Starbursts as her mother pushed the shopping cart.
Rollins stopped to see what her daughter was pointing at. She smiles softly as she turned her head to face her. "You already have enough candy at home, Jesse. Eating a lot of candy isn't good for you." She placed her hand on top of her head. "Wait another time okay?"
"He would buy for me." Jesse said softly.
"Who?" Rollins raised an eyebrow.
"Daddy." She grinned.
Rollins widen her eyes at her daughter's words. "Daddy?" She knew she wasn't talking about Declan. They never met. He seen a photo of her, but they never met.
She was talking about the only man who was the only father figure to her.
Carisi.
"Yeah, Daddy!" She gripped the cart's handles from her seat in the cart. "I miss daddy. Where is he now? He doesn't come over anymore. Why?" She innocently tilted her head as she asked the older blonde.
Rollins didn't know what to say, let alone think about the situation.
For the past seven months, the only times she would see Carisi would be at work, or accidently running into him in the city when they were off duty; and he was always with Arielle during those times.
She was hurt when she saw them kiss and how they had gotten back together. She knew Carisi was happy that he was becoming a father, something he always wanted to be. His sisters all had kids and his parents were pressuring him to find the right girl to pass on the family name since he was their only son.
'If I didn't ask Buck to come over to my room that night, and I had let Sonny kiss me...'
"Mommy!" Jesse's loud words snapped her mother back to reality.
Rollins shook her head as she looked down. "Yes, honey?"
"What you are thinking?" She asked.
"Just about stuff, baby. Okay." She put on a fake smile as she pushed the cart towards the frozen section.
"So how do you feel about becoming a dad soon?" Bella took a sip from her coffee. She along with her sisters decided to meet up with their brother at a cafe. The four of them were sitting in a red booth. Carisi and Bella sat together, and Teresa and Gina sat across from them.
"Pretty excited. Mom and Dad are beating my ass on asking Arielle to marry me." Carisi started to stir his tea spoon in his cup.
"Do you?" Teresa raised an eyebrow.
Their brother was quiet for a moment before opening his mouth, "I'm not sure. Yes, I do really like her. We got back together, and these last seven months has been great. Aside with all the hormones and emotions. Things been good." He gave them a small smile.
"Is that a yes, or a no Sonny?" Gina asked after taking a bite from her muffin.
"Honesty, I'm in the middle." He leaned back against the booth. "I don't know what it is, but I feel like something bad is gonna happen."
Teresa cringed at his words and held her hands up. "Please don't say that, Dominick. I still haven't forgiven myself for what happen to you." She looked away and shut her eyes.
Gina and Bella both had regretful looks as they looked down at their drinks.
Carisi sighed at their actions. His sisters still haven't forgiven themselves for what happened 26 years ago. "You three are still holding onto the past. I've already forgiven you and I've lost count how many times you three apologized to him for what happened that day. It's over now. It's in the past now. Let's just move on towards tomorrow."
"Why'd you tell her?" Gina spoke softly.
"Tell her who?" Carisi sat up straight.
"Arielle. About what happened." Gina lifted her head to look at her younger brother. "I mean, you never told your past ex-girlfriends that you were kidnapped. Why her?"
Carisi just stared at her for a while before saying. "It just happened okay. I didn't mean to, it just happened. And yes, I didn't like it when she told my boss and partner about it. Apparently, according to her, she was having a moment when she was telling them how great I am." He had a smug look on his face causing his sisters to all roll their eyes. "But..." he paused "she still didn't have the right to tell them about my past. Though, I should at least be happy she didn't write an article about it."
"You should be lucky then." Said Teresa.
Outside of a burger shop was a tall blonde haired pale skinned man, wearing a teal blue shirt underneath a black blazer. He was wearing navy blue pants and was wearing black Leu Oxford shoes. He was talking to someone on the phone.
"She's almost due right?"
"Yeah, she's supposed to give birth soon."
"You do know that this will be the biggest news of the year."
"Well, she got lucky with the father. I don't think he knows yet. He better not."
"Well, it is Arielle. What you expect?"
"True. Looks like she didn't have to go after him since he went to her. She got really lucky since he was in a vulnerable state from being rejected by another chick."
"How far are you with the article?"
"Almost done. I just have to wait till she gives birth to the twins."
"Remember, after they're born, take a picture of them and the parents as soon as possible and send it to me. And the article as well. It'll be the top story the next day."
"Understood." He looked up and saw someone coming. "I gotta go now. I'll talk to you later. Bye."
"All I'm saying is, help me out with this guy, Teresa! Go on this double date with me!" Gina pleaded as the four of them shopping for clothes. Actually, 3 of them were, their brother only stayed because they needed someone to hold their bags.
"This is high school all over again." He sighed as he held his head back.
"I said no. I'm not going on a date with some guy who works at some flower shop." Teresa shook her head as she pulled out a pink blouse from a clothing rack.
"But he's really cute! And his friend is okay too. You need to go out once is a while! Mia wants you too!" Gina placed a hand on her shoulder.
"How is Mia doing anyway? I heard she got accepted into Columbia University. I heard she worked up her ass to get in it, especially with what happened." Bella walked out of the dressing room to look at herself in a blue mid length dress.
"I just talked to her yesterday. She seems to be doing okay. She said she likes the campus there better than Hudson." Carisi finally taking a seat after someone moved. He places six different shopping bags on the ground. "But then again, anywhere else is better than Hudson."
"You should have warned her about it being a high crime rate school, Dominick." Gina took a glance at her brother.
"I did. She didn't listen." He shrugged his shoulders.
"You didn't try hard enough." Gina replied.
"Like you and your 12 failed engagements." Bella said while fixing her hair.
Gina froze at her words and three seconds later stomped over to the younger women. Carisi and Teresa quickly took notice of this before things got ugly.
"Oh, nuh-nuh-nuh no!" Carisi quickly jumped out of his seat and pulled Gina back while Teresa stood in front of Bella.
"Well, at least I didn't have kids with some convict." Gina smirked.
Bella narrowed her eyes and turned her body. "Well at least I'm married." She placed her right hand on her hip.
"To a guy who doesn't go to a gym." Gina retorted causing Bella to scrunch up her face as she tried to approach her, but Teresa held her back.
"Seriously, this is just like high school!" Carisi looked between his sisters.
"And this is why I don't like going shopping with you three." Carisi complained as he carried 10 shopping bags.
"Hey, you're the one who said that the four of us should hang out once in a while." Bella said as she sent a text to Tommy.
"Not as your butler!" He retorted.
"Well, out of a large family of siblings, someone has to be the slave. And the three of us chose you. I mean, you are a cop." Gina smiled.
"Lucky me." He said sarcastically as he looked over to his left said to see someone familiar crossing the street in front of them. A blonde-haired woman wearing her hair in a ponytail and was dressed up in a light blue jacket and black leggings. She was wearing white Nike shoes. "Oh hey, Amanda!" He smiled.
The blonde looked up and widen her eyes a bit. "Oh hi, Carisi." She looked over and saw two familiar faces. "Oh hey, Bella, Teresa, and..." she saw someone she didn't know "uh, Gina, right?" She pointed.
"Yeah that's me!" She extended her arm. "You're Amanda Rollins, right? Sonny talks about you a lot." She smiled widely.
Rollins shook her hand and looked over at Carisi. "He does, does he?"
"Don't listen to her. She's the craziest one out of the three." Carisi flinched when Gina tried to whack his head. "See?" He pointed.
"Little brothers." Teresa shook her head.
"I heard that!" He retorted.
Rollins couldn't help but giggle at the family interaction. She looked down at Carisi's hands to see many bags. "Are you their butler or slave today?" She mocked as she crossed her arms.
"Both actually." He nodded. "So, what are you up today?"
"Oh, I went grocery shopping with Jesse this morning and I left her with the sitter while I went out jogging." She shyly scratched the back of her neck. "She said she misses you, by the way."
"Really?" He smiled. "Well, I miss her too. But you know, I've been busy with Arielle, and she's almost due. And I'm gonna be busy taking care of them. Cause I mean, I'm having twins." He sighed.
"Right. Double the work, and double the trouble." She nodded as they silently stared at each other.
The three Carisi sisters were watching the entire scene and stole glances from each other. They shared confused looks first, then smirked.
Bella was about to speak up when she heard her stomach growl loudly. Everyone looked over to her. She blushed. "I guess I didn't eat much at the cafe." She turned to her right. "Classira's Diner is right over there. I'll just go buy a quick burger and be-" She stopped her words as she froze. "Oh my god. I can't believe this."
"Can't believe what?" Carisi asked.
"Um, Sonny? You have to see this." Bella said shyly.
"See what?" Carisi turned his head to see what she was talking about. The rest did the same.
"What the?" He widens his eyes and dropped the bags to the ground.
Sitting at one of the tables in front of Classira's Diner was a man and a woman.
The man was a blonde haired pale skinned man, wearing a teal blue shirt underneath a black blazer and wearing navy blue pants. And the woman was pale skinned, had long brunette hair and was wearing a white sun dress. Her stomach made her look visibly pregnant. The two of them were holding hands.
"Arielle?" He questioned.
Arielle leaned forward to kiss the other man's lips.
"Suddenly, I'm not so hungry anymore." Bella crossed her arms "But I am angry though." She glared.
The Carisi siblings and Rollins catching Arielle cheating on Carisi with another man. Gasps!
*Who is that man? Who was he talking to? Is he a reporter as well?
*Why is he writing an article about Arielle giving birth?
*What is Carisi going to do now? Is he really the one who got her pregnant? Or was it the other man?
