The next morning, Jonathan headed down to breakfast with Harry, Ron and Hermione, who was still trying to persuade him not to prank Snape.

"Please, you'll get into big trouble," Hermione begged.

"Yeah, come on mate," said Ron.

"It's not worth it," added Harry.

Jonathan sat down at the table and grabbed a couple waffles.

"It'll be fine," he told them.

"You'll be in big trouble," said Harry.

"Yes I know that," said Jonathan in an exasperated tone.

"Then, why are you going to do it?" Hermione asked, equally exasperated.

"Do what?" a baritone voice asked.

Jonathan silently cursed and turned to his father.

"Nothing father," he answered.

Snape raised an eyebrow.

"No és res pare," Jonathan insisted.

"Serà millor que no estar tramant alguna cosa," said Snape. "O vas a estar en un gran problema jove."

"Sí pare," said Jonathan, rolling his eyes.

"Don't roll your eyes at me young man," warned Snape.

"Yes father," said Jonathan, looking up at Snape before smiling big. "See you in class."

Snape raised an eyebrow but nodded and went towards the head table.

"He's suspicious of you," said Hermione in a 'as a matter of fact' tone.

"Yes, I know that," said Jonathan.

"Don't do it Nate," said Harry.

"It's pointless," Ron added.

Jonathan sighed and rolled his eyes.

"Don't worry," he said. "Everything will be fine."

Then, Jonathan got up and left, leaving behind his three shocked friends. They didn't see him until a minute before History of Magic started. The trio kept an eye on him throughout class. Once Binns let them go, Jonathan raced out the door. The class watched him with confusing looks on their faces. Hermione gave the boys a worried look. Harry and Ron returned it. Once they got to the potions classroom, they found Jonathan sitting at a table, reading a book. Harry went over to him.

"What did you do?" Harry whispered.

Jonathan smiled. "

Dad likes to drink pumpkin juice around this time," he told him. "So I put a couple of drops of this potion into it."

"What will it do?" Harry asked.

"Just turn his hair bright red," said Jonathan. "It only lasts for an hour."

Harry smiled and put a hand over his mouth to keep his laughter down. Then, Harry sat down next to his new friend. A few minutes later, the 5th year students heard a door open. Then, there were gasps. A beat later, laughter filled the room. Everyone was laughing, even the Slytherins. Snape was frowning at them.

"What is so funny?" he asked in a snappy tone.

Nobody answered, still laughing very hard.

"What. Is. So. Bloody. Funny?" Snape snapped.

A Slytherin girl raised her hand.

"Look...in the...mirror...Professor," she said between laughter.

Snape raised an eyebrow and took the little mirror offered to him. Snape looked like he would explode at the sight of his hair. He didn't say anything. Snape spelled a potion recipe and stormed out. Students were still laughing but one by one started on the potion.

"That was brilliant," said Ron, giving Jonathan a pat on the back. "Best prank ever."

Jonathan smiled and helped Harry with the ingredients

"Thank you."

"How did you come across that potion?" Hermione asked.

"A friend of mine found a book of prank potions our 2nd year and we've used them every year since," Jonathan explained. "That one I used on dad is a particular favorite of mine."

"You need to work with my brothers," laughed Ron. "They love a good prank."

"Maybe one day," Jonathan answered.

"Ok," said Ron. "But you have to give me a vial of the potion you used."

"Ok, I got 5 colors you can choose from," said Jonathan. "I recommend purple."

Then, a hand gripped Jonathan's shoulder.

"I wish to see you after class, Jonathan Severus Snape," Snape whispered, anger in his tone.

Wincing, the four friends turned and watched Snape leave.

"How did he find out?" Ron asked.

"Probably heard Nate talking about it," said Hermione.

Jonathan shrugged and they went back to work. Snape didn't come back out until the potion wore off and went around the classroom like he normally does. Soon, the class was dismissed.

"I'll catch up with you later," said Jonathan before entering his father's office.
