A/N: Yet again, sorry for the update speed…

With every step bringing Norway closer and closer to his little brother's room, his heart started thumping, though he didn't quite know why. Despite the situation, he wasn't sure why he was so nervous. Was it the possibility of Iceland not trusting him? Getting angry at him? Breaking into tears in front of him? He really couldn't be sure…

It seemed like no time until Norway arrived in front of Iceland's door. Truth be told, he had wished more than anything that the time could have passed a little slower. Only then did he realize how unprepared he was for making Iceland feel better. What should I possibly say? He thought. The corridor in the Nordic Mansion was cool, with a soft breeze blowing in from one of the windows left ajar. The smooth wooden floor was cold to his feet, but nothing at the time could've cooled Norway's hot, beating heart.

After what felt like hours, Norway finally summoned up enough courage to make a move for the door. Grabbing tightly onto the handle, Norway suddenly realized that the door was his only barrier between himself and Iceland. Oh, how much he longed to see his little brother's face again; to comfort him from whatever 'nightmare' had been implanted into his mind; to once again earn his trust which he did not deserve.

Norway gave the handle a forceful twist, and to his utter surprise the door swung open. It was not locked.

Iceland's room was the smallest out of the five Nordics. When he was young Iceland used to complain about it, but Norway merely shrugged it off and joked you're the smallest in size, of course you get the smallest room! Apart from his bed, there was only space for a bookshelf and a desk. The window was wide open and wind blew in like a huge creature peering its head into the room and releasing gulps of icy breath. Norway shuddered in the cold.

Iceland was sitting on his bed. He did not seem surprised at all that his older brother was able to get to him to easily. "So you came" was all he muttered, looking up as he said it.

Norway could not suppress a gasp. Iceland's eyes were bloodshot and puffy, obviously he had been crying a lot. His pale grey hair was uncombed and messy, making him look like he was deserted in his room for many, many years. He was also a lot thinner than when Norway last saw him.

"Ice…." Norway managed to stutter, feeling tears welling up in his eyes. I am such a fool, why did this have to happen?

Iceland did not show the slightest emotions. It had looked as if he was absent-mindedly staring right through his brother, into emptiness. "So you came…" he repeated, but this time his voice was cold as ice.

"Ice, please… Don't be like that, I-I can explain."

At this Iceland let out an empty laugh, and pointed at the door. "If you had come earlier, perhaps you could've convinced me. Perhaps you should've tried opening the door on the second night, it was never locked since that day."

Norway felt his heart throb in pain with every word Iceland uttered. His fear had been proven. He could no longer keep the tears back, and they came rolling down his cheeks. "Please, Ice, will you listen to me? I know I wasn't the best big brother in the world, but I swear things will be alright now, and I won't let that Denmark get to you-" As soon as he said it, he regretted saying it; Iceland's expression darkened to a point that Norway feared looking at him.

Silence crept in after that. Everything was quiet, except for the occasional gust of wind that came through the window. Norway dared not to breathe too loud, all he could was stare at Iceland.

"DENMARK?!" Iceland suddenly burst out. Norway flinched at the loud sound. "I GET IT; YOU JUST WANT TO MENTION HIS NAME IN FRONT OF ME TO PISS ME OFF RIGHT? I GET IT; EVERYONE IN THE HOUSE HATES ME!" A particularly strong gust had started blowing. In the wind Iceland looked like some kind of lunatic, his purple eyes being closer to a shade of black and fuming with rage.

Norway felt shame and fear engulfing him. Once again only despair remained. "Please, Ice, please…" his voice was close to cracking.

Iceland let out another laugh, this one colder than the coldest winters, and darker than the darkest night. Without another word, he left the room, letting the wind slam the door after him.

OMG the story is taking a dark turn... Not quite what I expected . That aside, hope you enjoyed!
