Author's Notes: I'M BACK! It's been a long two years but I am back! Talking about fanfiction with a friend of mine really inspired me to revise and complete my stories so here I am. I'm so excited to get back into writing this fic, and I still have all of the notes I had for this story. Expect way more frequent updating from now on! Enjoy the update!

The house was dark when Twilight woke up. A hoof immediately went up to her head, waves of pain wracking through her body. A small spot of blood stained her hoof. She closed her eyes tightly, searching for the memory of what happened before the world went dark. Twilight sat there for what felt like hours before her eyes shot open and panic surged through her. Sweetie! Something happened to Sweetie! Rarity? What had happened to Rarity? The pony shook her head, scrambling to her feet. She held onto the nearby table as her hooves threatened to fall out from under her. Her head felt so light, but she had to find the others.

With another surge of adrenaline, she caught her footing and managed enough strength to let go of the table and walk. Her horn lit up, piercing the darkness and enabling her to actually see. It was obviously night, she could clearly see the moon from the windows near the front door. Her eyes scanned the area around her. Spots of blood coated the floor, and she notes a broken sewing machine with a bloodied corner by her foot. Hesitantly, she walks over to the stairs. Every nerve of her body was on edge. "Rarity? Sweetie? Is anyone awake?" She calls up, cringing at the realization that she'd have to explore herself. Twilight takes her first step onto the stairs.

A yell escapes her, a piece of glass digging into her hoof. Biting her lip so hard that it bled, she pulls the glass shard out and continues her trek upstairs, paying more attention to each step. After a few careful minutes, Twilight reaches the top of the stairs and to the second floor. Each step has a spot of blood, adding to the mess of everything else. "Rarity?" she calls out again. She was met with no response once more.

Her eyes scan and then focus on the bit of light coming from under Rarity's bedroom door. Someone was in there! Stealthily, Twilight makes her way by the door, putting her ear next to it to hear whatever was on the other side. There was silence, a sound she was getting all too used to hearing. Taking a deep breathe, Twilight uses her magic to burst into the room, ready to catch the perpetrator. A gasp caught in her throat. Rarity was splayed out on her bed, her robe wide open with cuts all over her body. She seemed to be unconscious. The window by her bed was wide open and the wind gently blew the curtain. Someone had been in here and had escaped! Panicked, Twilight ran over and began shaking the pony.

"Huh..? Who's there?" Rarity murmured, coming to. "It's me! Twilight! Something happened! Do you remember anything? All I remember is Sweetie on the floor bleedi-Oh my Celestia! Sweetie!"

Rarity shot up at the urgency of Twilight's voice, crying out in pain as her body ignited from all of the cuts. "What about Sweetie? What happened to her? Oh my sweet sister!" Rarity ignored her screaming nerves, hopping out of bed before Twilight stopped her. "Rarity you should lie down!"

"Just go get help, Twilight! I need to find my sister! Please hurry!" Rarity began her way to Sweetie's room, a smile creeping across her lips as soon as Twilight couldn't see her.

"I'll be right back Rarity, I promise! Hang tight!" Twilight trusted her friend to handle Sweetie, and she took off galloping down the stairs, missing the glass-laden step. She burst through the front door and began calling for the guards on their nightly watch, rushing over to them.

Rarity opened her sister's room, smiling at the quivering form on the bed as she walked over to her. "We've done it, Sweetie. That was such a good idea!"

Sweetie's body was now also covered in bleeding cuts, none too deep to cause serious harm. She looks up at her sister, forcing a weak smile, "I'm glad it worked." She wasn't stupid enough to ask about the marks on her skin, knowing well that Rarity had inflicted them on her after knocking her out. She wasn't stupid enough to pull away from Rarity when Rarity pulled her into a warm hug, cooing against her and "comforting" her. And she wouldn't be stupid enough to rat out her sister when the guards finally came to investigate the commotion. As far as Rarity was concerned, this was an open and shut case of a break in. There wouldn't be any evidence to the contrary, she made sure of it. A wide smile sprawls across her face as she kisses Sweetie's forehead. Her perfect, darling sister.
