Chapter 4
Lunch Pay Back! And More!
Normal POV!
Class went on for the next three hours. Hotaru was starving. She didn't have breakfest because when she woke up for being passed out she was forced to go to school. She sighed. This is a smart school but all the classes were WAY too easy. She was suspious. What kind of school is it really?
"Hotaru-Chan!" Ruka's voice made her jump slightly. No one saw that except Ruka, Mikan and Natsume.
"Aww! Little Hota-Chan got scared! Poor wittle girl!" Ruka teased (A/N: Lol! OOC Ruka! Sorry!). He smirked. She had pale skin so when her cheeks turn pink it's REALLY noticable! Only he can get emotions out of her. Other than Mikan.
"Oh, I guess this video means you are tough?" She icily said and whiped out a video cam and showed the class with the projector.
The video rolled.
Ruka was in the forest. He was going to check on the animals in the forest ranch before bed. He walked for another minute or two.
SNAP!
He stopped cold in his tracks. He slowly turned around terror written all over his face. A huge shadow hovered over him. It came closer. He let out a high piched scream and ran.
Ruka looked back and the thing was coming. He screamed again. He wasn't looking were he was going so he hit a tree. He fell unconsus.
Laughter filled the room when it ended. Ruka was tomatoe red and hugged his bunny closer.
"How did you get that!?" He angerly yelled at her.
"It's called pay back." Hotaru replied.
"YOU FOLLOWED ME!" Ruka screamed and shook her shoulers.
"You left me, kissed my cheek in class, and I wanted to have fun." She plainly said. His jaw dropped. She did that for those resons! Yes he got the leaving part but the kiss?! He did it all the time when they were young! He sighed. Then an idea popped in his head. He simled evily.
"Oh, Hotaru! I'm so sorry! I shouldn't have left you! I could and would still be do this if I didn't!" Ruka was being dramadic. Her eyes had a flicker of confusion but she hid it quickly.
The whole class' eyes were on them. He smirked and leaned in and pecked her lips. He backed away and ran out.
The class went wide eyed. Ruka never acted like that to any one. He was acting almost like Natsume execpt for the dramadic part.
Hotaru stood still and let the heat slowly turn her cheeks snaped out of her trance and quickly hid her embarrasment.'What was he thinking?! He knows not to do that in public! But it's still nice to know he likes me enough to do that again.' Hotaru thought as she turned and walked away. She needs to find Ruka. He still owes her lunch.
Mikan was shocked. Hotaru never showed that much emotion before in one day! Even if she was one who could get emotion out of her ice block of a friend, it took forever to get her to crack a small smile! Then suddenly Ruka was able to get he to go pink then red like a tomatoe then got her to crack a small smile!
"Hey, Nat-Chan, do you know if Ruka-Pyon likes anyone?" She asked him.
"Well, he did tell me that he did have a girl but had to leave her when he was forced to go here. So it's safe to assume that Hotaru was that girl." Natsume said quietly. She smiled. Who knew Hotaru had a boy?
"Hey, lets get our friends and have them meet Hota-Chan!" Mikan said cheerfully. She ran out to find her friends without waiting for his reply.
"Hn." He grunted and followed his baka.
~Time Skip, When everyone is together under the Sakura Tree eating lunch~
Hotaru sat aginst the Sakura Tree with her bento in her lap. Ruka sat next to here and had his hands and legs tied. Now the reason for poor Ruka being in that sad, sad position is because of Hotaru. She wanted payback so, when they all got to the tree she tied him up so couldn't do anything...unecessary.
"So, now every one is here, introduce your selfs to Hotaru!" Mikan cheerfully said.
"Hi! I'm Nonoko and this is my bestfriend Anna!" A perky blue haired girl said pointing to herself and a pink haired girl. Hotaru looked at them for a second and nodded.
"I'm Hotaru." Hotaru says as she took a bit out of her crab brains.
"I'm Sumire and that smiling baka next to me is Koko." The girl with green hair said while she smacked the boy with dirty blonde hair in the head for taking food. Hotaru nodded.
"I'm Kitsuneme and this is Yuu." The boy with dirty blonde hair and squinty eyes said smiling. The blonde with glasses nextto him waved and smiled.
"Ok, nice to meet you all." Hotaru said politly.
"Am I ever going to get to eat my food, Hotaru?" Ruka says as he trys to get out of the ropes.
"No," She coldly glared at him. Ruka frowned at her,
"And why not?" He asked.
"Because it your punishment form today and what happend before." She had enough of him and ignored all his complants.
"Umm... Imai-san, what is he exactly being punished for?" Yuu asked nervously. The others looked at his as if saying he asked for his death wish. Hotaru turned her attention to the blonde boy and then to Ruka, then back to Yuu.
"He kissed me and-" Hotaru was cut off by girlish sceams from her left.
"He kissed you?! Are you for real?!" Anna yelled happly and grabbed Hotaru's hands. Hotaru's eyes wided slightly.
"Why and how?! He never does that stuff..." Nonoko trailed off as she tapped her chin.
"He kissed you?! Do you two like know each other or are you a long distance couple?!" A hyper Sumire asked with stary eyes.
"Umm... uh..." Hotaru cleared her throut, "Yes, he did, but he did it in class and his punished from leaving me when we eight." She tried not to sound uncomterble as she pulled her hands back from Anna.
"Why did he kiss you then?" Koko asked although he already knew. Ruka groaned in annyonce.
"I did it all the time when we were little! Now sh rejects it and Idon't know why."
Mikan took a good look at Hotaru and asked,
"What did they try to do this time?"
Hotaru looked her way. "Tryed to send me to college...again..."
"Will they ever stop? Thats just stupid." Mikan sighed and shook her head.
"Wait, they aren't still..." Ruka said as he looked at Hotaru.
"No, no, no. They just...leave me be. I still try not to think of that." She says.
"What are you talking about? Who is 'they'?" Kitsuneme asked confused, like most of them were.
"My paraents. They are just dumb and does not know any thing at all." Hotaru spoke coldly.
"Ok so, what kind of alice do you have?" Anna asked after she finished her lunch.
"Alice? Whta do you mean?" Hotaru put an emotionless face on, but her voice sounded corious.
"What they didn't tell you? Alices are powers you have. I have the Cooking Alice, Nonoko has the Chemistry Alice, and there are many more out there." Anna answered her.
"Then, why didn't tell me?" Hotaru asked as she also finished her lunch.
"They normaly tell you after today so they know if you have one or not." Mikan butted in.
"Then, why am I here? How did I get here?" She asked again.
"I heard you got attack." Natsume spoke suddenly.
"Attack by who?" Sumire asked. Why would some one attack Hotaru? She's just an inocent girl.
"AAO." Ruka says as he hid his face with his bangs. The rest gasped. The AAO? What would they want with her?
"How do you know, Ruka-san?" Nonoko asked.
"Well,...You will know later." He replied.
"Well, I guess we should got back to class now." Yuu spoke up. The rest nodded and followed as Yuu walked back, but Mikan and Hotaru hung back.
"Hota-chan, I gonna say this once and only once," Mikan said seriously, "You need to stick by me, Natsume-kun, or Ruka-pyon."
"Why should I stick to that Baka Nogi?" Hotaru coldly asked.
"Just trust me, I'm in the same position you are in." Mikan replied and caught up with the others.
"What do you mean Mi-chan?" Hotaru questioned quietly as she looked up to the sky.
"So, you found the two we need?" A deep, dark voice asked.
"Yes, they both go to Gakuen Alice." A girls vice replied.
"Perfect." The deep, dark voice said.
"Ok, it's that time again, kids!" Narumi yelled happly to his class.
Cheers eurped from the class. Yes, it's time for the festival to start! Like every year, a class is pick to do a cafe, play, food stand, or something of their pick. At the end of the five days of the festival, a dance is held and a couple is pick to be the Queen and King of Alices for a week.
"This year is a little different," He said after the class calmed down, "You will be paired according to how well you work together."
"Why?" Koko piped up.
"Thats...a...secret!" Narumi said mysterously.(A/N: LOLZ! Narumi pulled a Xellos! Sorry Slayers reference!)
"Ok, now that ends class! Bye Bye!" He struted out the door.
Mikan and her friends went to talk to Hotaru soon after.
"So, what's your alice?" Kitsuneme asked, when they all sat.
"Don't know, don't care." Came the short repliy from Hotaru as she worked on an invention of hers.
"Ouch," Koko says quietly.
"She has the Invention Alice." Mikan said. All eyes turned to her.
"How'd you know?" Anna asked.
"SEC, remember, I copyed her alice." Mikan replied, rolling her eyes. "Oh," That was the only repily she got.
"Ok, any others?" Ruka asked as he sat on Hotaru desk.
"Can you get off? I'm working." Hotaru shooed him off. "No, I don't wanna, Hota-chan!" Ruka pouted, trying to use his cuteness.
"Really, now..." Hotaru smirked and layed her head on the top of her hands. The group took that as a cue to back up. Poor Ruka didn't get it.
"Yes!" He replied, crossing his arms. Hotaru nodded and got up.
Dragging Ruka by the coller, Hotaru walked to the door. Something clicked in his brain.
"Hotaru, your not gonna..." He said quietly, but enough for the rest to hear.
"Yes." Came her simple repliy. His eyes wided in shock.
"NO! Stop! I give! Do ANYTHING, but THAT!" He shouted as he pulled back his coller.
"Want me to do it in here?" She plainly said back as she let go of him and turned his way.
"Maybe?" He squeeked.
The rest looked back and forth between the two. What the heck was he talking about? What she going to do to Ruka? Those were some of the questions that ran in there heads.
Mikan suddenly looke intently at Hotaru. Some thing was growing stronger in her. She knew what it was but couldn't put her finger on it.
"Well, ok then." Hotaru walked up to him. She stop in front of him, inches away from his face. The group watch then. Mikan noticed what she was doing.
"HOTARU IMAI! You know better than that!" Mikan yelled, stepping in front of the group.
"What?" Hotaru asked, her head turning slightly to look at Mikan.
"You know what!" Mikan yelled back.
"Polka, what are you talking about?" Natsume asked, putting a hand on her shoulder.
"None of your business!" Mikan shook his hand off an walked to Hotaru and pulled her back.
"What are you doing?! You know better! It's very dangerous to do that here!" Mikan shouted.
"What about YOU?! You did it a lot when we were younger!" Hotaru stomped her feet.
"Yeah, but I copyed it from you! I don't even have that Alice!" Mikan waved her arms up and down.
"Really? That's an Alice, eh?" Hotaru asked.
"Yes, a very dangerous one. You really shouldn't use it so close to the person too." Mikan sighed.
"Ruka-pyon! You are in charge of her from now on! Make sure she doesn't use it." She hissed at the 'it'.
"Hotaru, what was it really? I mean, you use it on me to ceep me in check, but..." Ruka asked her as they walked down the hall to dinner.
"I don't know. I only know it gets people to do want you want them to do." Hotaru replied, though, she knew it did more than that. She knew it could do alot more and that the controlling was not the the only and or a part of what it's going to do.
