Joseph didn't seem to mind the thought of being carried. In fact, he didn't really respond at all. He rolled his head towards the direction of the ceiling, which Malcolm took as an act of agreement. Now all he had to figure out was the best of carrying said mutant. Mal stood up to examine the position Joseph was currently in. It wasn't a full fetal position, but his knees were closer to his chest than the ground. With the current position he was in, Joseph could easily be carried in any way. Well, most ways. Mal couldn't just throw the boy over his shoulder or anything. That would be a quick way to destroy trust. A simple carry seemed the best way to do so. Mal considered carrying Joseph like one would a child, letting him clutch onto him and holding him with one arm under his legs and one across his back. Though this seemed like the best option for keeping up trust, Mal discarded the idea simply because he didn't want the naked front side of another person rubbing up against him. He felt like it was a bit selfish of him to think in such a way, especially considering Joseph's condition, but he wasn't changing his mind. Instead, he decided it would be best to carry the boy bridal style, even if it did mean risking having to look more directly at the naked front him. Like the first method he came up with, this would allow the boy to rest his head of Mal's shoulder if need be, and that seemed like it would keep up trust as well.

It turned out to be much easier to lift Joseph up bridal style than expected. His legs were already bent, so all Mal had to do was simply scoop him up. He didn't consider going slow, which he probably should have, as Joseph didn't seem to like the sudden movement. His body shook a bit, unsure of the sudden change from cold tile against his back to the lukewarm feel of Mal's sleeves. "It's alright." Mal softly cooed, shifting Joseph a little so the boy could rest on his shoulder. "I'm just carrying you to get some clothes, remember? There's no reason to worry. We're just getting some clothes."

Mal didn't walk too fast. No, it was now clear that Joseph needed things to be taken slowly in order to be comfortable. Joseph managed to stop shaking after only half a minute this time. He was already getting used to being awake.

Taking slow strides, Mal began to feel guilty again as he headed back towards the entrance. The other mutants' bodies still hung from the ceiling, eyes still staring out into the white emptiness of the room. Mutants that couldn't be helped. Mal tried to avoid looking at them. He had to remind himself that there was nothing he could do to help them, and that he just needed to focus on assisting the one he could. He somewhat shifted Joseph's head away from the bodies, though he couldn't even see them in the first place. Mal wanted to hurry up and get out the Evidence Room, but he knew he couldn't. So instead he closed his eyes and went straight on, not wanting to look at those bodies more than he had to. He barely remembered to open his eyes he when reached the doorway.

He had tried brushed it off when he first noticed it, but now the temperature change between the two rooms was too much to ignore. The Evidence Room had to be a good forty degrees lower than it was in the rest of the Tower, so fully entering the hallway was a sudden heat blast. Mal understood why this change in temperature– the scientists had to keep the mutants' bodies cold somehow -but still need a minute to get used to it. Joseph, on the other hand, reacted horrifically to it. His body shot up and began twitching spastically. Mal didn't expect this reaction and had no idea what to do. His first instinct was to pull the body close and try to comfort him, but Joseph shoved him away and ended up falling to the ground. Though he landed hard, that didn't case anymore twitching then what already happening. Mal didn't know how to stop the spasms the boy was having, so all he could do was back up and give him some room. Two, three minutes passed before the spasms finally stopped. Joseph returned to the half-fetal position he was in back when he first woke up. Mal still waited a solid minute before checking on him, in case the attack started again. They didn't. Mal first went to check Joseph's head, see if the fall damaged it. Thankfully, it did not. However, Mal did notice something new; Joseph was actually crying. He still wailed silently, but now tears wetted his cheeks as well. Out of curiosity, Mal decided to feel the boy's arm – goose bumps, probably out of fear. So the sudden change in temperature had awakened him even more. This was a good thing development-wise, but Mal wished this awakening didn't have to be so painful for Joseph. He was clearly terrified. In an attempt to calm him down, Malcolm began wiping the tears of his cheeks and whispering to him.

"Joseph." he started. The boy turned his head towards his voice. "It's alright now. I promise there won't be any more changes like that. The rest of the Tower feels just like this. You'll be fine. Okay?" Joseph didn't give any response at all. Mal frowned a bit. Did he already lose his trust? Mal shifted a bit to get ready to carry him. "I'm going to left you up again, alright? Like last time, but much slower. Alright? Is that okay with you?" He really wanted a response. Joseph again didn't do anything, but Mal decided to slowly pick him up anyway, again figuring that he would feel better after getting some clothes on. Joseph still didn't do anything, seemingly accepting being picked up. Once Mal had shifted Joseph back into the position to rest his head on his shoulder, he began slowly walking forward again, away from the entrance to the Evidence Room. He had only walked for about a minute before he turned into the hallway were his room was. Was his room truly that close to the Evidence Room? The more he thought about it, the more he realized that yes, his room truly was that close. It made him sick to think he had unknowingly slept near those hanging bodies for all that time, but he couldn't do anything about it now. Joseph was moving around a little bit, rubbing the blindfold over his eyes. Mal was worried he might try to take off the blindfold, and it turned out that he was only get the excess tears out of his eyes, which the blindfold surprisingly allowed him to do. In fact, the blindfold being on didn't seem to even bother him, which was good considering that he was stuck with it for three days. It was about another minute later when the two finally reached Mal's room. Mal let out a breath and smiled. "Here was are, Joseph. Let's go get you some clothes."
