A/N: This was from a prompt I got from an anon a while ago, so I just went and put it on my collection of drabbles. As always, don't forget to leave an opinion, it would mean a lot :)

prompt: James getting injured and Lily taking care of him.
Chapter 4- Stay with me
"Just stay with me, stay with me James." Lily pleaded.
That had been her mantra for the last five minutes, ever since James Potter, a friend with whom she had lost contact after leaving Hogwarts, showed up at her door all but attacked with signs of having been hit by various Cruciatus curse and at least one Sectumsempra. She didn't know how he had found her but it didn't really matter right now, all that mattered was keeping James alive, keeping James breathing and keeping those hazel eyes trained on her.
James hissed when she applied pressure on his wound, all thoughts of magic gone from her mind. "Come on, focus Lily!" she chided herself. Lily accioed the dittany from the potions kit she kept around the house just to be safe, "Okay, this is going to hurt a bit" she warned just as she uncorked the bottle and poured some drops into the wound, wincing as James strangled groans started to echo throughout her house.
She had blood on her hands and James screams on her ears.
After another fifteen minutes of struggling Lily was sitting on the floor, her back pressed against the couch, James lying on his back, by her side, asleep, his screams perpetually imprinted in her memory, right then and there Lily made a silent vow to always protect the man next to her, even if it meant risking her own life, she never wanted to ear those gut-wrenching screams again.
The red head slid down until she was lying down next to him, her head propped up by her hand, her other hand making its way through his unruly black hair, the mantra that had been in her head for the past twenty minutes repeating itself, but this time, she didn't hold back, she said it loud and clear "Stay with me, stay with me.".
