Hey guys, I would like to apologise for the lack of any update in AGES. I've had a really bad case of writers block! I feel a little rusty so please R and R to let me know what you think!
Hermione was once again very happy the next morning she had already eaten breakfast and was slightly disappointed that she hadn't seen Draco yet but this didn't spoil her mood, it really was beginning to concern her how happily the two had begun to interact. She bounced down the back garden all the way to the Quidditch pitch the Malfoy's (and now she) had in their backyard. She squinted as she saw a flash of blonde in the sky and smiled as she realised it was Draco.
She plopped down on the grass and decided to just watch him. She almost didn't notice when Nona popped into existence beside her.
"Morning Miss Hermione!" Nona greeted and Hermione smiled.
"Hey No" She greeted back without taking her eyes away from Draco who still had yet to notice her presence, she had always enjoyed watching people fly. They looked so untouchable as if they were existing somewhere else, somewhere safe and free. Nona watched her Mistress for a while before giggling with realisation "What?" Hermione asked finally turning to look at the small house elf.
"Nona is just so happy that Master Malfoy finally has someone who obviously cares for him!" She giggled and Hermione frowned thinking the elf was going mad.
"He does? Who?" She asked and Nona blinked looking at her as if she was dense.
"You don't have to pretend Miss Hermione, Nona can tell. It's lovely that you and Master Malfoy have become so accepting of each other. He might finally have a real friend." The elf smiled and Hermione's eyes bulged.
"Me? You think we're friends?" She scoffed and Nona raised an eyebrow.
"Of course Miss Hermione, it's obvious" The elf shrugged before cracking away from Hermione. The brunette sat dumbstruck for a moment before turning her attention back to... Hey! Where'd Malfoy go!
"Looking for someone Hermione?" His smooth voice interrupted her search making her jump as he sat down next to her.
"God don't do that you scared the crap out of me!" She protested clamping a hand to her heart and making him laugh.
"Sorry" He apologised before tilting his head back and looking up at the clear blue sky smirking to himself, he hadn't realised that Gryffindor's golden girl had such a foul mouth on her. It was a gorgeous day but it didn't occur to either of them that this was because of Hermione…
Narcissa smiled at her husband before turning to look out the window. Her smile turned into a sly grin and she tugged Lucius over to the window.
"Look!" She giggled in excitement.
"What?" He frowned squinting out into the grounds.
"Hermione and Draco, don't they look cute! Oh Lucius wouldn't it be marvellous if they fell in love!" Narcissa squealed making Lucius wince as his wife clapped happily. He rolled his eyes, he loved his wife but she was one crazy lady.
Hermione arrived in the east wing dining room early that day and greeted Mitzi with a wave. The house elf paled and clutched the plates tighter to her chest.
"Don't worry Mitzi I'm not gunna take your plates" Hermione giggled and Mitzi let out a relieved breath.
"But I do have a favour to ask..."
Hermione sat at the middle of the table smiling at what she'd managed to achieve. She had to admit the rest of the table looked bare but she didn't really care. It was just obscene that they had such a large table, totally unneccersary. The table settings had all been moved to the centre chairs two on each side with everthing arranged around them.
Hermione folded her arms and waited, finally the door opened and all three Malfoy's walked in. She briefly contemplated the specticale they made. They really did look formidable standing side by side like they currently were. They stopped dead as they saw the table, Narcissa beamed while Draco smirked and took the seat opposite Hermione while Narcissa took the seat next to her leaving only one left.
Lucius stood at the door his face a blank mask as he surveyed the scene in front of him.
"Mr Malfoy please have a seat I had the house elves make toffee angel delight and I really would like to enjoy it." She smiled and a slow grin formed on his face before he started laughing and took the seat next to his son.
"My dear girl please call me Lucius" He grinned and she giggled before nodding. He looked up at his wife and she beamed at him making him laugh once again. The food appeared before them and everyone dug in. Hermione beifly wondered why Luscius had been feared so greatly, she seemed so loving towards his family.
Throughout the whole meal Hermione felt Draco's eyes on her, as if they were burning a whole through her very soul. Finally giving in she dragged her chocolate brown eyes up to meet his and gasped.
She'd never seen anyone look at her in that way before, she blushed a bright pink before getting to her feet. He looked so intense.
"E-Excuse me!" She squeaked before running from the room, it was all too much. Draco jumped to his feet and chased after her. Hermione had no idea where she was giong but she was going there fast.
"Hermione!" He shouted after her as he saw her dive around another corner. She stopped dead and spun around, unfortunatly she stopped just around the corner so 2 seconds later Draco came tearing round it and plouged straight into her. She let out a scream and flew to the floor Draco on top of her.
"Shit! Hermione I'm so sorry! I didn't know you were just gunna stop like that woman!" He excalimed getting to his feet and pulling her up too. She blushed a bright pink once again and dusted her clothes off.
"It's alrigh" She hurried back too embarresed to really form a proper retort about his utter clumsiness.
"Why did you run?" He asked and she blinked at him.
"I... I..." She trailed off unable to think of a reason why. "You looked at me so..." Once against she couldn't finish her sentance.
"You ran cause I looked at you?" He asked and she blushed once again making him snort loudly.
"Well no, yes, I mean, no I didn't but I did do..." She bit her lip to stop the words from tumbling out. Draco just rolled his eyes and smirked at her.
"Thank you" He whispered and she blinked trying to comprehend what he was talking about.
"T-Thank you for what?" She asked and he smiled.
"For bringing my family back together." He replied and she blushed once again.
Please let me know what you think R and R. So sorry again for slow update but as I said before, really bad writers block :( Love VaM xx
