A/N: This takes place before the Revolutionary War, basically my take on what happened between America and England to make him want independence so badly.
Chapter 4: Perfect by Simple Plan
Did I grow up according to plan? And do you think I'm wasting my time doing things I wanna do? But it hurts when you disapprove all along.
Sky blue eyes narrowed in deep though as he reflected on the past day's events. It's not that he didn't care about England but trying to tell him what to do when he was across the ocean? It seemed fairly stupid in America's opinion. After all, England did like to boss him around and put him in stuffy suits and America was sick of it. No matter what he did it seemed like England was never proud of him (1). He always disapproved of what America did and made sure the colony knew it.
Well, America thought, maybe I need to break away from England. I mean it might be best in a long run. Yeah, I'm going to be independent!
It was from that moment forward that America knew he never wanted to be under England's thumb ever again.

(1) I honestly think that their relationship was that of a disapproving father and the son that wants his dad to be proud of him.
