The next morning found three extremely hungry and disgruntled genins who were waiting for their late sensei who now had three people wishing they could kill him. Even Sakura had given up on how she looked and asking Sasuke out. Naruto was close to giving up when he showed up. Fives hours late. "Yo," he greeted them with an eye smile.
"Sensei?" Naruto asked in a controlled but dark voice.
"Yes Naruto?"
"Why are you late?" He just smiled once more and opened his mouth to answer only to dodge two kunai, thrown by Sasuke and Sakura. "Your too late sensei, now start the test." All three of the glared at him and he just shrugged before walking to a log placing a timer on it and held up two bells, "You guys have to get these from me before the timer goes off, you better come at me with all you have. The timer starts...now."
All three of them went into the trees and Naruto just sat on her branch wondering how she was going to get them before it clicked. Two bells, three genin. Objective: Pit them against each other or make them work together. But how is she going to get Sasuke and Sakura to work with her? Well, actually, Sakura might be the easiest one to convin-"AHHHHHHH!" Naruto jumped down and ran to her only to find her passed out under a genjustu. Naruto sweat dropped already knowing that it had something to do with Sasuke.
With a sigh she released Sakura and waited for a few minutes for her to get herself under control before losing any patience she might have had and slapped Sakura. Though Naruto mused that that might not be a bad thing to do. When Sakura finally woke up and controlled her emotions enough to just want Kakashi to die she went with whatever Naruto had said just so she could avenge 'her' Sasuke-kun. Naruto held in a snort and just let her believe what she wanted just as long as they worked together.
Before long they had found Kakashi and attacked him. Sasuke attacked his legs trying to take Kakashi down that way, while Naruto who had seen the opening had jumped for his torso punching and kicking, trying to do something to inflict pain or some type of damage. While Kakashi just countered all of their attacks like it was nothing. Which it probably was for him. Sakura showed up just in time for her to hit the poor blonde and start to lecture her to stop 'being in her Sasuke-kun's way' by the time that she had finished the timer that Kakashi had put on had gone off and the test ended with Naruto tied to the stump.
Sasuke had thought and almost voiced out how it should have been Sakura tied not Naruto. At least Naruto did something and unlike Sakura whose only...'contribution' was hitting Naruto on the head just when she was about to get one of the bells with Sasuke. Because of her they both lost the opportunity and therefore should have been her tied to the stump. Not Naruto. But he didn't say anything and Sakura who thought that she had done a lot more then what she did preened thinking that she 'helped' but didn't. Kakashi sighed and rubbed the back of his head with one hand, "I'll give you three another chance, however if either of you give Naruto any food then you all fail." With that he poofed away leaving the three alone.
Naruto softly sighed ignoring her aching stomach and thought that maybe she shouldn't have fallen a sleep with out eating last night. Just as she was about to lean back and close her eyes to talk to the demon in her head Sasuke surprised her by shoving some of his lunch under her noise then going around to cut the ropes. When both girls looked at him questioningly he shrugged and simply said, "She needs it more then I do." and left it at that. After Naruto mumbled her thanks in which she got a grunt in return their sensei poofed right back in all menacing like, the only one who wasn't affected was Naruto and that was because when she had gone into her mind for the first time the fluffy thing had been way more scary then he did at this moment in time. She was brought out of her thoughts when Sakura shrieked out a "WHAT!" She focused on Kakashi as he began to explain why he had passed them and the reasoning behind the whole tie-up-Naruto-and-eat-in-front-of-her deal.
"Just remember this, those who break the rules are scum but those who betray their friends are worse than trash. Meet me on the bridge at 6 am." With that he once again poofed out, followed closely by Sasuke who, by attaching herself to him, was followed by Sakura, leaving Naruto who thought about his words, then wondered, 'Does that mean that when we finally make it through to the end and no longer have to be a team when', it was never an if in Naruto's mind but a 'when', 'they won't feel the need to help me? Or when we are on a mission would they give me up? I know that they will never be my friends maybe comrades at one point, maybe, but they will never be my friends. Hatake-sensei will probably get rid of me asap. well he won't let me die but he won't want to teach me; that's a given. After all who could love or even like me? A freak? A demon? A mistake?'
With a sigh Naruto shook her head and leaned back wondering if it would be all right if she just laid there for a while, she never noticed how her right wrist glowed faintly under her jacket as she fell a sleep leaning against a stump that she was previously tied to. Nor did she notice the pair of eyes that were watching her in curiosity.
