A/N: YAY ANOTHER UPDATEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Before September ended! I'm so proud of myself XD. Nothing really to say here, except, that I also wrote a Gruvia (with a side dish of NaLu) oneshot and uploaded it a few days ago, titled "Not Everyone Close To You" so please check it out and let me know what you think ;D. If you did already, I LOVE YOU THANK YOUUUU.
Also, just wanted to point out that I refer to Gray and Natsu as "men" because to me, they're men AND boys, but... I feel like when I call them a boy, it's not as serious or sexy. So, man it is (in this story, at least XD).
Alright, that's enough blabbering. Here is chapter four... Please enjoy and always ship NaLu and Gruvia :).

Chapter 4
Keep Your Heart Closer
Previously...
"Right behind you," Gray shouted. The two sped off, leaving a certain dragon slayer behind.
It wasn't until a minute later that Natsu realized he was completely alone. "Wha... What just happened...? They just left me here. WHAT THE HELL! I don't have time for this!" he declared, running forward into the jungle's threshold. Lucy...please be okay. Happy...you too. Watch over her... I can't lose her...
.
.
.
An ivory, black lined scarf whipped violently behind the man with pink hair as he sprinted through the darkening woodlands. All of his senses heightened; he tried his best to capture the smell of the girl he was searching for. Where could they have taken her?! Where could she be?! His mind was in panic mode, onyx eyes widening in fear of what might happen if he didn't find her soon. Natsu Dragneel was not the type to fret, but his heart was thrumming too loud, and the more he thought about Lucy, the more he could not steady his palpitating nerves.
At first, he was angry. Angry at himself, at Gray; at Juvia for being Juvia... But the fury dissipated, his blood no longer at boiling point. The darkness of the situation grew into horror. What if he never saw her again? What if the bastard that took her away did things to her that even Natsu wasn't sure of? What if...?
Hard fists clenched; the dragon slayer's body tightened with every new thought that entered his mind. Blood ignited, the Fairy Tail mage snarled and pumped his legs with more heat. There was no way he'd allow the enemy to take something precious from right in front of his eyes again. I WILL find Lucy.
::-::-::-::-::-::-::-::-::-::-::-::-::-::-::
Is this real...? Or not?
Who is...? I can't see...
Lucy Heartfilia was dreaming; the voices she heard were not familiar to her and she couldn't see who was speaking.
Everything was darkness.
A menacing chuckle and a whistle of crude words left the blonde's heart a mess. Even after she felt her body drop to a hard surface and heard metal clanking, she convinced herself she was having a nightmare. Then, a familiar voice proved otherwise.
"L-Lucy...?"
It was then she felt the familiar burning in her abdominal and knew she was not dreaming. "Augh..." Mahogany blinked slowly, adjusting to the dim light. "Ha-Happy...?
The burning flared and the blonde winced in pain. Moving slightly, Lucy pushed her body up with her hands. She sat with her knees tucked under her; licked her lips before she spoke. "Wha... What happened...?" A poorly wrapped bandage adorned her side where her shirt used to be. Red soaked through, the color reminding her of fire. "Where's... Nat...su...?
"I don't know!" Happy answered from across her, looking just as disoriented as the stellar mage. "I woke up from a nice dream of eating 1,000 fish and saw we were in prison!" The blue cat frowned, rubbing his furry stomach. "I don't know where Natsu, Gray, or Juvia are!"
"Ugh... I'm sorry... Happy..." The blonde shifted and extended her legs forward; she quickly clutched her wound again. "A-Augh...this hurts!"
"Are you okay Lucy?!"
"No... I don't know..."
"I wish Wendy were here to heal you..."
Lucy wished the healer were there too, but she instantly regretted it. There was no way she would have allowed the young girl on a mission such as this.
Looking away from her companion, Lucy noticed through the bars there were other cells around them. People, specifically female mages, were trapped within the saturated impediment. "Oh no Happy..." Brown eyes widened in realization. "We... Got... Captured...?" Suddenly the walls around them became crueler. There are so many cages... So many girls! This is horrible...
"It looks like we did," Happy whimpered. "I don't want to be raped!"
The key user smiled at the blue cat through tears of pain. "Happy, you aren't going to be raped! We'll be okay... I think I have my keys, I can just call Loke—" Lucy reasoned as she checked her belt; a gasp escaped her mouth.
They were gone.
"Oh crap..." she started, "Did they take them? M-Maybe I dropped them...?" Crap, this is really bad. I can't defend myself or Happy without my spirits! Lucy grasped her face, rubbing her cheeks repeatedly. What can I do? Think Lucy, think!
"Oh no you don't have your keys?! We're gunna die!" Happy wailed; an exaggerated cry echoed against the walls.
"Hey...are you guys okay?" a soft voice asked. With a small "ah", the blonde hugged Happy to her chest. She'd been startled. After a quick scan, she found the source of her nerves in the cell directly across from them. A girl with scarlet hair, deeper than Erza's, peered at them through rusted bars. With a deep breath, the stellar mage calmed her nerves. Was this girl captured too?
Happy, from within the blonde's arms, whispered, "Who is that, Lucy? Do you think she has fish?"
Lucy rolled her eyes "No, I don't think she has fish, Happy." The blonde scooted closer to the metal bars, observing the girl. Green eyes had lost their luster; the red head was wearing a tattered dress, ends filthy from the ground. From the position she was sporting, Lucy could see her bare feet were dirty, cut and bruised. She cringed, her eyes instantly full of sympathy for the imprisoned girl. "Hi... Yes, I think... I'm Lucy and this is Happy... What's your name?"
"My name is Rima..."
"Have you been down here long?" Lucy asked.
The girl named Rima sighed, the look on her face lifeless. "Yes, I've been down here for... Actually, I'm not sure how long. I don't even know what day it is..." Suddenly she clenched her fists around the bars. "They took away my magic... There's some kind of spell in here."
"A spell?" the brown-eyed girl repeated. She grit her teeth in frustration, anger slowly overtaking the feeling of hopelessness. "I'm a Celestial Mage... I think they stole my keys." she said, eyes narrowing. Her arms squeezed Happy a little tighter and she looked at him sadly. "Our comrades are still out there... I hope they can rescue us soon..." she trailed off, feeling blood seep out of her wound again. When she rested her eyes on Rima again, the bleak light did not obscure the dried blood on her exposed skin. Lucy cursed the men that established the organization. It was inhumane. It was wrong. It was disgusting. How dare those pigs do this to someone so sweet... They'll pay. But first, she had to learn more about what happened to the broken girl. Lucy asked hesitantly, "Did they...do anything to you?"
The dark redhead remained quiet and looked away.
Lucy's heart dropped, her body instantly numb. She knew the answer. "I'm... I'm so...sorry..." It was difficult to swallow back bile, the blonde terrified of what was going to happen to them.
The cat in her arms pawed the bars, looking sad. "You are a pretty girl, Rima..." He looked down. "I'm sorry too... If there's a spell, that means I can't fly either?!" He picked his head up, shaking it more positively. "But don't worry! Natsu will be here to save us all! Gray and Juvia too!" Then as an afterthought he added, "But I'm scared if Juvia comes because she is a girl too... Lucy what should we do? Should we just wait for Natsu?"
Defeated, Rima shook her head at Happy's words. "My comrades were going to come for me... At least I thought they would. But they never did. I want to believe your cat companion, Lucy-chan...but I've lost all hope."
"No!" Lucy cried. "Don't give up. Our comrades would never leave us here... Maybe yours have tried, Rima-chan. But these gang members are strong! Maybe they weren't able to get through yet..." The blonde looked at the hopeless girl earnestly. "We come from Fairy Tail... And we never leave a nakama behind! We fight for them!"
She glanced at Happy, a small smile on her lips. "I truly believe our friends will come... All we can do is wait though, because we have no magic..." Lucy exhaled slowly, determination shining in her eyes.
"AYE SIR!"
"I hope you're right Lucy-chan... These nakama of yours... They sound nice..."
"Are you from a guild too, Rima?" Happy piped.
"Yes, I'm from a small guild here... Our guild name is Fable Ribbon. A few girls and guys joined, so you probably haven't heard of us. But, most of the girls were captured... I suspect the guys were too scared to come find us. You see, we aren't very strong...
Lucy listened sadly, her heart breaking for the guild members. "I'm sorry Rima-chan...augh—!" Lucy shut her eyes tight, searing pain running up her side again. She willed her body to heal, but she knew she didn't have the healing abilities that her partner did. She missed him. She wished she could be like him, and save the red-head and all of her guild mates. But she was powerless.
"What kind of friends wouldn't try to save you, Rima?! No matter how strong the opponents are, that's no excuse! I know Natsu would do anything for Fairy Tail, aye!"
Rima smiled ruefully. "Thank you... But I wouldn't want them to get captured too..." she paused, clutching her chest in distress. "It's... saddening. There's someone...that means a lot to me."
Lucy subconsciously analyzed the girl; it was obvious Rima was in love. The spirit mage could relate to the girl, also feeling the same way about a certain dragon slayer. But she didn't know what that emotion would be called, so she let that thought sink back into her throbbing heart. She nodded, understanding.

In the opposite direction of Natsu, Gray followed Juvia with precision. She knew where a new enemy was located; they had to stop him at all costs. The sun was very low in the sky, the light abandoning the two mages as they approached a relatively small mountain.
"Oi, are we close?" Gray asked.
The blue-haired mage nodded. "Juvia believes it's up ahead!"
"We have to save Lucy, and the other girls! If we're too late..." Gray stopped himself, shuddering at the thought. He shook his head and looked at Juvia who was beside him, running in sync. "No. We won't be. They're going to get their asses kicked!" he affirmed.
"Yes!" Juvia agreed. Their eyes locked as she turned her head. "We will save them and all of the girls that are captured! No woman should be violated like that... No one should be!" Juvia returned her eyes forward, her senses telling her a presence was up ahead. "Juvia knows there is someone close, Gray-sama!"
Gray sped up, disregarding the pain of the last battle they had. "Juvia... Don't let your guard down. And stay close to me...because they might try to take you."
The water and ice pair approached the enemy's lair; a barred entrance, embedded in a mountain of rocks. "Juvia..." Gray halted behind a large deciduous tree, concealing their presence. "We have to be careful. This guy...is probably stronger than the others."
One hundred feet in front of the Fairy Tail mages, a tall, lean man stood with his arms crossed. He was resting against the rock, one leg holding his weight on the ground as the other bent against the slate. One violet, googely eye opened at the sound of voices. "Hm... Two people eh?" The lone eye studied the figures between the woody foliage. "Oooo one's a girl! The Boss will surely be happy..." he chuckled as he opened the other eye. He swung his arms and pushed himself off the rock, crouching out of sight. "They don't call me the best guard for no reason...heheheh."
The guard disappeared, unseen by the Fairy Tail mages. "Yes... Juvia felt such a strong presence. Juvia will stay near Gray-sama!" The water mage leaned against him, cheeks slightly red. "But... Juvia won't let them rape Gray-sama either!" she said, determined. Juvia recalled multiple men in the past that had fallen for her Gray-sama, and she did not need more love rivals!
Instantly Gray felt his face burn; his body was very much aware of Juvia's breasts pressed against him. He hid his hormones well, remembering what Juvia had said. "I-I won't get raped! You're the one they're after! I'm not a female mage..."
He cleared his throat. "We need to...figure out how to take this guy out. He probably already sensed us... I forgot to hide my magic..." the ice mage clenched his teeth, frustrated. His mind wandered to Juvia's closeness and his body flowed with jittery nerves. Well...shit...
"But Gray-sama is very attractive. Men have fallen for you before! Juvia won't lose to a man!" she proclaimed, failing to notice Gray blushing at their position, and too into their relationship to realize the enemy had found them.
"Juvia stop—!" Gray started, but his voice died at the sound of someone else's.
"Hey cutie." The unsuspecting victims whipped their heads around, shock on their faces. "You'll be a perfect addition to the family. I better capture you fast and bring you to the Boss. But I'd like to have fun with you first!"
Before the ice mage could process the situation, the enemy unleashed his magic. Shit I should have felt his presence! Unlike their previous battle with lightening, this battle would dance with wind. The magic cycled around Gray and Juvia, effectively separating them.
"GRAY-SAMA!" Juvia screamed, reaching for Gray's hand. In an instant, she was ripped away from him. The vicious air current picked her up and thrust her through the cracks in the trees. Her voice faded with a sickening thud where her body landed, some feet away.
"WHAT THE—! JUVIA!" Gray yelled, unable to react in time. He had reached for her hand, but watched in a daze as Juvia was flung away from him. The wind knocked his lungs dry, pushing him to the floor where he felt Juvia's fall tremble the earth. Forcing his limbs to move, he got up slowly, body shaking with fury. "Who the hell—?!"
"Name's Ren," the blonde smirked.
"I don't give a shit what your name is!" Gray spat. He would waste no time, he had to defeat him. He had to get to Juvia, to see if she was okay. The bastard would pay. With an open palm and closed fist, the dark-haired man smashed them together, magic discharged. "Ice Make... SWORD!" A long katana formed in his right hand, and quickly he sprung forward; he slashed and slashed at Ren so he could find Juvia. I'll kill him! I swear I'll kill him!
::-::-::-::-::-::-::-::-::-::-::-::-::-::-::
From a distance, the creak of a metal door was heard, and heavy footsteps echoed against the cell walls, coming closer. Happy swallowed and started to shake. Uh... any day now, Natsu...
Rima's body jolted at the sound, her eyes wide and upset. "Oh no!" she hissed, "They are coming...!"
A lump formed in the key user's throat; darkness consumed her once more. It was becoming increasingly difficult to breathe with her lungs constricting. "W-Wait... Who's coming?!" But she already knew the answer.
"They may take you," Rima warned. "They can heal that wound of yours... But then..." Rima's voice faded and she shook her head sadly.
Lucy gulped loudly. "This is bad Happy..." Natsu please... Save me! Before... Before I lose my virginity to someone else! Lucy blushed heavily at the thought. Wait...I don't want to lose my virginity at all right now!
From the path leading to each cell, two large guards emerged. They strolled down the corridor, their fat bellies moving with their stride; violet, googely eyes devouring caged girls. The guards halted when they reached the space between the Fairy Tail and Fable Ribbon cells with grotesque expressions. The giant men glanced at each cell, nodding because they must have found just whom they were looking for.
The taller one spoke first, ogling Lucy. "Well... Look what we have here. What's your name, Missy?" He stared at her as he licked his lips. "I already know the other girl... Very well!" he said, laughing evilly.
"I-I don't have to tell you anything!" Lucy squeaked. Then she swallowed nervously, holding back a meal that threatened to come up. "Let us go! We're not your property!"
The second guard began cackling as well. "No, not ours. You're a special one. Your Boss' property."
At his words, Lucy looked at Happy, terrified. Boss' property?! Who the hell is that? Happy returned the look and Lucy felt misery consume every last hope she had of saving everyone. Natsu...! I need you...!
Rima remained silent in her cell, knowing all too well what was to come.
::-::-::-::-::-::-::-::-::-::-::-::-::-::-::
Natsu tripped face first over an uprooted limb of a deciduous tree. "DAMNIT WHAT—?!" The pink-haired man grasped the root and untwisted it from his ankle. He'd smacked his head on the hard floor and was bleeding from his bottom lip. Pissed, he pushed his body up to sit on his heels.
The pink-haired man wiped his mouth of blood, onyx eyes catching a glint of metal. With quick hands he reached out and closed them around a set of keys. A cold feeling numbed his fiery blood. He held them tightly as he picked himself up, the symbolic metal all too familiar. "...her... keys... oh no... please no..."
Natsu stood up, his expression unrecognizable. He pushed to a mad run, denial flooding through his every thought. She's okay... She's okay... She's okay... While words consumed his thoughts, Natsu pocketed the keys. He utilized every bit of self control he could possibly possess so he would not destroy the entire forest in a fit of rage. He ran almost blindly, the fury in his heart pumping to the rest of his body.
He hadn't gone much further when a faint glow emitted from the pocket where he'd previously hid his partner's valuables. The white fabric's glow grew steadily, the bottom of Natsu's eyes catching the light as he stopped in his tracks, startled. The hell—?!
A polished white reflected all over the forest, blinding the dragon slayer. He shielded his eyes with his forearm, cursing under his breath.
As the light dissipated, Natsu lowered his arm to re-adjust his eyes on a shadowed figure. The shadow emerged into the suit-clad Leo, the lion spirit known as Loke. He stood in front of Natsu as the light faded away, quite disheveled.
"Natsu..."
Natsu looked at the lion spirit, bewildered. "...Loke? How did you get here?!" His widened eyes closed and then re-opened, narrowed. "Well whatever, we don't have time to waste! We have to save Lucy and Happy! I know Happy won't be raped—but Lucy! She doesn't have anything to protect herself with..." Natsu trailed off, clenching the stellar spirit's keys in his palm. "If I don't make it in time... I could never forgive myself..."
Loke was shocked. "What?! Raped!" He struggled with his mind, hands in his pockets. The lion spirit searched for his master's whereabouts through their contract; he'd find her. Lucy, where are you..?
After agonizing silence, Loke looked at Natsu seriously. "She is...wounded severely." At this, Natsu's eyes widened in fear. "Natsu, I know where she is... Please, follow me. I'm going to use my own magic and not rely on hers; her power is dwindling. It's easy for me to stay here."
"If what you said is true..." he trailed off, shaking his head as he took both hands out of his pockets. "No... Let's go save Lucy!"
Natsu nodded, wiping his face of fear. "I trust you Loke... We will definitely find her."
Scattered trees cast shadows on the forest floor; on two men weaving in and out of the wood's way below. The man in a suit led the way while the pink-haired man was not a step behind.
"We have to get to her... I really feel her magic slipping away. She may pass out soon. I also think she's bleeding out; it's becoming increasingly harder to sense her life energy." Loke said gravely as his legs picked up speed. "Natsu, you have to save her... We already saved the future... She can't die now... Not like this..." He felt his heart crumble at his own words, not wanting to remember future Lucy's death.
"She's still bleeding!? It was that wound from so long ago..." Natsu growled, clenching a fist near his heart. He would never let her die in front of him again... With another breath, the fire mage caught a whiff of the smell he'd been wanting for so long. He felt relief wash over his soul, but then his resolve hardened. "We're near… I can smell her… THERE'S NO WAY SHE WILL DIE! Just a bit longer and we should be there! HURRY LOKE!"
Loke nodded, understanding how important their timing was to his master. "She might bleed out... Crap! She's moving!" Without hesitation Loke dashed to the right, beckoning Natsu to follow with a quick hand. "It's this way!"
A/N: Yay, chapter four written and done! How did you guys like it so far? I feel this chapter was super dramatic but we need that angst and drama for this arc! Also, how did you like Rima-chan? I'm very fond of her XD. Please leave a review with your thoughts fellow fandom ;D.
*Note: In my story, Loke is able to sense Lucy because she's his master... but in the GMG Arc he was able to appear before her when she didn't have her keys, so it's a spin off of that. Sorry if you guys didn't like that...
Next Chapter: Where was Juvia flung off to...? What will the guards do to Lucy and the others...?! Are the girls doomed? Will Natsu and Loke make it to Lucy in time?! And how will Gray and Ren's fight turn out? Keep reading to find out ;D. This arc is far from over XD.
P.S. Thank you so much for all the reviews, favorites, and follows! It means so much to me. Until next chapter, take care loves xoxo.
