A/N Hey guys! I know this week is supposed to be an update week, but this week is finals week for me... So for now this is the best I can do. Hopefully I can still update this week as well. Sesshomaru POV

'Does she need protection? She has my brother, does she not? Then why would she be going into danger as she put it, by herself?' Sesshomaru's mind was racing. He wouldn't let the miko go into battle unaided. He certainly wouldn't let her end herself.

"Perhaps she intends to get herself killed?" His beast panicked.

'No, the Miko appears to be honorable enough. This one doubts she would kill herself, just to remove herself from this world...' Pausing here as the Daiyoukai realised just whom he was discussing with his beast. Mentally growling, he questioned his more animal side, 'Why are we having a conversation about her anyway, she means nothing to us!' Sesshomaru was getting slightly annoyed with his beast for even caring about the onna.

Determined to at least be heard, if not get his way, Sesshomaru's Beast demanded as well as tried to reason with his more civilized half, 'I must get to see her again. She saved our pup! Do you know of any demoness that would save pups that are not their own? I thought not. At least not in this time and certainly not a youkai's human pup. She is a good mother and pup bearer. I mean, look at those hips!' His beast growled in appreciation. 'Why not take her as Mate?'

Sesshomaru didn't reply to his beast, not wanting to spend a moment more on this topic. Turning his attention back to the world around him, the demon lord simply ignored its ramblings on the human wench's body.

Kagome POV

'Wow, my plans are coming together really well, and to think all I wanted to do was sleep. It seems I'll be doing much more than that. I wish I had brought my Ipod, or at least told Kaede that I would be leaving..' Realizing that she was being rude she turned to the blue hatchling "So is there anything you wish to be called?" Kagome asked tiredly.

"If you wouldn't mind it Mistress, Atre." The hatchling put in to her mind timidly.

"Alright, Atre it is. So Ah-Un said you would bond with me? Do I need to help you attach to my rekai?" Kagome practiced using the mental speech

"No, the fact that you can hear me and I can hear you means that the bond has taken. It will grow when I fully mature." There was a smile in Atre's thoughts; Kagome didn't know how she understood it, she just did.

Kagome sighed, bracing herself for the disgust Atre would undoubtedly have after Kagome explained everything that night, 'Might as well give her a heads up... I don't need Inuyasha or Sesshomaru bothering me tonight.'

"Tonight," Kagome began "Since I have someone to protect me, that's you by the way, I become a demon. So I will need two things from you, protection during my vulnerability, and if you wouldn't mind," she bit her lip, "carrying me tonight and help me gather the items I need." Kagome chewed on her lip waiting for the dragon's response.

"Milady I would be honored if I could do you this service." She was getting on Atre's saddle, when a book fell from the saddle.

"What is this for?" Kagome questioned mentally.

"It is probably a book on the history of my kind. Where to Mistress?" Atre asked, curious to see what this tiny human was capable of doing.

"A cave in the mountains just west of here would be good. Would you happen to know a safe one?" Raven brows furrowing in thought as the miko chewed on her lip nervously.

"I know of a good one Mistress." Kagome frowned at being called mistress but let it go for now. And after that grumbled thought, Kagome mounted Atre's saddle and read the odd book on dragons. She learned that dragons never outlived their masters because if one owned a dragon, then the dragon became attached to the owner's life force. And they were incredibly loyal, so no mortal death came to their owners. By the time she got to the Chapter 5 titled Moon Maiden Guardians, she had to stop because Atre found the chosen cave. It was an incredible location, with a spring inside the cave.

'This is awesome Atre!' Kagome's immediate thoughts easily rushed to her new companion.

'Thank you Mistress, but if you are to be vulnerable then we should gather some food to support ourselves for a time' Atre thoughts rumbled through her head thoughtfully

"We'll need some fish maybe some deer." Kagome started her list "Then we will have to create a strong barrier around this area. That way we'll be cloaked from anything looking to start trouble…"She trailed off and started towards the stream, Atre close behind.
