AN: Back sooner then expected, *Tips hat while leaning on a cane*

This chapter was a breeze to write so I decided to update it early. I have also decided to rise the rank to T, because of slight violence in this chapter and possibly later chapters.

There are also notes for this chapter. Notes are at the end of the chapter and will be marked be this *.

I would like to know what you guys think of the story so far, so please leave a review.

As always, hope you enjoy the chapter.

Chrysalis's eyes grow wide for a second at the realization of who was standing in front of her. She quickly regained her composer and raised an eyebrow.

"So you are the one that has been defeated by the princesses of day and night, and then again by the Crystal princess, isn't that right," she sneered slightly, thinking bitterly of how she also had been defeated twice.

Sombras eyes glowed like angry red embers and he snarled showing his curved teeth. "Yes I am the one twice defeated in my own kingdom," Sombra paused for a second, his ears twitching, he almost seemed to be listening to something. He chuckled softly to himself, and said, "But you have also been defeated by the Crystal princess and a villain wannabe, Queen Chrysalis." He gave Chrysalis a mocking bow.

Chrysalis gave a confused look that question how he would know all of that. "The shadows talk," Sombra answered before she could voice her question.

"We both share the same enemy and I have a plan to overthrow the Crystal Empire and after words all of Equestria, but I need your help to do so," Sombra said, his voice becoming more smooth, his stance more strong and incharge.

Chrysalis was so surprised by his statement that it took her several seconds to respond. "What is your plan?" she asked, intrigued at what she could do to help a creature that had such strong magic.

"Some of the details are a bit hazy but the objective remains the same," Sombra said, his ears perking, listening to something only he could hear. "I will give you two days to think about it and I will be back with a sound plan."

"Wait, how are you going to get out of here?" Chrysalis asked with a sharp tone. Sombra smiled darkly, then he disappeared in a thick cloud of black smoke and sailed over the edge of the wall of ice.

Chrysalis stood where she was for several minutes in confusion and then in disbelief. She began to walk back the way she had come, wondering if that encounter had really happened or if it was all her imagination.

Chrysalis got back to the spot she had fell and sat down and thought till a small group of changelings came to get her out.

Sombra got over the edge of the gorge and materialized back into himself and crashed into the snow. He know he shouldn't have done anything with magic right after reforming, but he had to move quickly or his plan would fall apart. He pulled himself out of the snow and started to gallop towards the head of the gorge *.

Sombra stumbled several times as he moved forward, the snow clinging to his legs. It took him longer to get to the head of the gorge then he thought it would take. When he got to his destination, he jumped into the gorge without any hesitation, jumping from ledge to ledge till he got to the icy floor. He stopped to catch his breath, which came out in thick white clouds. When he caught his breath he began to walk farther into the gorge.

As Sombra walked his hoof steps echoed off the walls of ice, creating a very eerie sound. His eyes pierced through the darkness, showing him every little detail in the ice. He walked some ways, the ceiling getting closer and closer to him the farther he went. The ceiling get so close to Sombra that he nearly had to crawl forward, when suddenly he came to a very open cavern.

For a moment all was quiet, then there was a bone rattling roar. Sombra dove to one side as a great wall of black flame filled the spot where he had just been standing and no doubt all the way back down the tunnel he had just come through. Sombra glared up into the darkness and watch as an enormous shadowy dragon crawled down the wall to face the invader.

The dragon's claws gripped the ice wall with great strength as he made his way down. Its long slender tail whipped back and forth angrily causing ice shavings to fall past to the floor. The dragon's enormous dark wings were tuck tightly against its dark back. The dragon's head was set on a spiny, thick neck. The dragon had ram like horns that curled around his jaw and teeth that sat neatly in its mouth.

The dragon came to the floor and stepped to stand about midway in the cavern. Its head held high as it looked down at the stallion with harsh golden eyes.

"I thought I told you never to come back here unless you had the crystal heart," the dragon growled, which sounded like nails on a chalkboard.

"Yes you did say that, Stardust, but I am still back," Sombra said, sounding almost bored.

"Well, you don't have the heart and you look like you came back from the dead," Stardust said bluntly.

"That's because, in a sense, I have," Sombra said with annoyance. "But that is besides the point of why I am here."

"Then why are you here? Do tell," Stardust said as he moved his massive head towards Sombra, but his head hit the invisible cage that became visible on contact becoming bright gold. His snout just barely fit between the bars.

"I am here to ask for your life magic**, for I have a plan to take over the Crystal Empire and get the crystal heart, but I need…" Sombra was interrupted by the dragon's harsh laugh that vibrated the very walls. When Stardust stop laughing Sombra ask in annoyance, "What is it you find so amusing?"

"You have already tried that, and see where it got you," the dragon snapped, black flames licked out from between his teeth.

"But this time I ask for all of your life magic," Sombra said calmly. "Last time almost work but I needed more power, this time I have a sound plan that will take down all of Equestria."

"You know that such power would turn you to dust," the dragon snarled.

"Yet you have gotten into similar situations that you were able to pull through, you know my strengths and you know it takes more than a little magic transfer to get rid of me," Sombra snarled back.

"I am a dragon, I have more magical endurance than some mere alicorn," Stardust said, but he stepped back from the bars, leaned his back up against the wall, closed his eyes and started to think. Sombra waited.

After many moments, Stardust opened his eyes and moved close to the bars, looking straight at Sombra. "I have decided that I will do it, but you must return my life magic and the crystal heart back to me, or there will be consequences," he said with a slight snarl.

Sombra nodded slowly, agreeing to the small price to pay to finally get what he wanted. "I agree to your terms."

"Alright then, come closer or the transfer will not work," Stardust almost seemed to purr as he said that.

Sombra moved forward slowly, closing the distance between himself and the dragon of shadow. He had barely gotten within touching distance of the cage, when Stardust lunged forward and thrust his snout through the bars and bit into Sombras neck with his razor sharp fangs. Sombra cried out in surprise as the fangs sliced into his neck. A moment later he roared in pain and shock as the dragon's magic surged into Sombra.

Stardust had to work quickly or the sudden power that was going into Sombra would kill him, he could already see the effects it was having on him. Thick black shadows were pouring out of Sombra's eyes and his body was beginning to break apart. Stardust reached out between the bars with a talon and traced a diamond shape on the stallion's chest and taped the middle of the diamond. A Small milky white crystal formed and almost immediately began to grow darker as it absorbed some of the dragons magic.

Stardust sighed as the last of his magic slipped into Sombra. Feeling weak, Stardust opened his massive jaws and dropped the now unconscious Sombra on the icy floor. Stardust watched as the dark stallion's body began to shift and form into something new, but he was too weak to watch the full transformation and fell to the ground unconscious.

Notes:

* Many ponies think that the gorge ends at the ends of the great opening, but it keeps going creating two really big caverns at both ends

** Life Magic: The magic of a creature that when taken away puts them into a almost dead state. (See the season four finale)
