Summary: Death is reoccurring, sometimes by chance and other times by force. No one can stop it. No matter how hard you try to prevent it from hunting you down, death will always catch you off guard and silence your cries. You're a fool if you think it's just an accident.
Review Responds:
Rewinsan: Nightmares of blood and guts spewed everywhere…and – and he'll be scared of trees now! Ya, that seems legit, Natsu is now scared of trees.
Cake-Addict: I didn't really want to get out of character with Natsu thinking about Gray and how he cares for him. I did want to put in the first part that Natsu thinks of Gray as a brother – nothing more nothing less, but I couldn't really put it in the story without letting myself feel like I really let Natsu get out of character. So to answer your question, yes I do feel like Natsu cares about Gray, very much like a brother.
Nampa: Did you die? I bet you died. You so totally did die, I mean after waiting for so long for this update, who wouldn't die? But here, have a life mushroom. Here's the next chapter!
blog-heart-slover03: Oh my goodness! Thanks a bunch! I hope they don't die. Man that would be a shame if this story killed off Lucy and Gray! But we must wait and see! Thanks a ton for the review, it was great :D
DreamscomeTRUEEE: Haha, thanks! I think? I don't know if the review is good or bad, but thank you anyway. It made my day :D
Guest: Don't kill Gray…I will take up your offer and see what I can do, but no promises.
Just Me: This chapter is a bit longer, but Gray isn't in it. Next chapter is the last and will be short. So keep your eye open next week for the next/last chapter! Thanks a ton for the review!
Casseg: Next chapter! And look it has a fight scene in it! Ahh, I freaking love writing those *sighs in happiness*
Guest (2): Haha, umm ya I think so…maybe? I mean it is a tragedy, but the fun thing about this one is that you don't know if Lucy is going to die or Natsu or hey maybe Erza!
A/N: Well that took a while to update. Hold on, before you come at me with pitchforks and fire, I have a good explanation. I went to Hawaii for my Birthday! Yay! Woot woot! God it was a blast, and hell do I miss it.
Warning: Cussing, there may be a little OOC (hopefully not), and slight grammar/spelling errors.
Disclaimer: Did I get Gray and Natsu for my Birthday? No? No? No…I guess I don't own them.
Enjoy!
It wasn't like he wanted to run away. Hell if he could, he would run right back just so he could punch the damn Ice Mage and then drag the stripper with him. But then again…
Lucy screamed.
Gray told him to go.
"Shit," Natsu cursed as he pushed himself to run faster.
To be honest, Natsu wasn't too sure he should leave the bastard all by himself. The idiot was practically bleeding himself dry and Gray told him to go – because Lucy was in trouble.
Natsu wouldn't say this out loud, but he trusted the damn bastard. Hell, he'd even trust the Ice Mage with his life, and Natsu believed Gray felt the same. So Natsu left him, left the Ice Mage, because he trusted Gray – and Gray would never lie to Natsu, even if that meant keeping the Guild safe.
This was ridiculous.
Erza held back a groan in frustration. The train was a wreck and she was pretty sure the company who owned the vehicle would charge the guild for this accident. But she knew for a fact that her and her teammates did not do this. She heard the explosion and she saw the flames rushing to devourer her.
Then again…they did have Natsu with them.
But she shook her head that was impossible; Natsu would never do such a thing.
But it was Natsu.
Lifting another large chunk of metal in her way, Erza tossed it aside as she exhaled in frustration.
"This is going to be a long night," she muttered under her breath.
"Erza!" A female voice called out over the crash of lightning.
"Then again," Erza blinked in surprise, "Maybe not." Picking up her pace, she sighed out in relief. "Let's hope finding Natsu and Gray are this easy."
The weird thing about being friends with a powerful Fairy Tail Mage, was that almost every time you seemed to be in trouble, they were there. Kicking butts and taking names.
So when her arm was being tugged out of its socket she wasn't surprised when Erza raced in.
The man quickly let go of her arm and dropped her as he jumped back with a snicker. "So two lived?" He asked with a tilt of his head, "Damn Adam. Leave it to him to fuck up a suicide mission, fucking idiot."
"Lucy," Erza called out, her gaze never leaving the man's. "Is everything alright?"
"Ya," she said between gasps, "I think so."
"So you did this?" Erza demanded.
"Not just I," the man remarked sourly, "My partner and I. We wanted revenge for what your idiot Guild did to ours. You think you can just walk all over our lives? You will pay, all you fucking brats will pay for what you did, starting with Fairy Tail's best team."
"What?" Erza's face fell into confusion, "Fairy Tail? What did our Guild ever do to yours?"
"You filthy whore," the man spat, "forgetting what you did to my friends – my family! You killed my Guild, destroyed the building, drank my brother's blood and raped my sisters!"
"I assure you," Erza snapped back in disgust, "we did nothing of the sorts."
"Oh, but you did! A man and woman walked into my Guild and presented their mark to us before devouring us! You fucking Fairy Tail members will perish for what you did."
Rage boiled over as the man locked his gaze with the titan. Growling out in disgust, he pressed his hands against the wet floor and screamed. Black shadows raced out from his fingertips, zigzagging across the ground towards their targets.
The blond was captured instantly, her body trapped in shadows binding her to his spell. The other female jumped back and equipped two large swords, swatting at the shadows that snaked towards her. As the female Mage battled against the shadows, the blond became the man's first target.
The ground below her began to bubble and small bony hands cracked out of the ground and dug into her skin – pulling her down. She screamed, grabbing the other Mages attention.
"Lucy!" she shouted and jumped towards the damsel in distress.
Her rescue was over before it even began and she was captured; Erza felt the shadows lace around her ankles before the ground rushed up to meet her. She slammed against the mud as hands began to claw at her skin.
They were beginning to sink, the mud gurgled and with each pop of a bubble, new skeletal hands were produced. Lucy was up to her waist when the fingers began to reach for her chest and neck. She attempted a scream, but when her mouth opened, shadows snaked into her mouth and tied her lips shut. Her scream became a muffled cry for help.
"First you two, then your whole Guild, this will teach you not to mess with us!" The man shouted in triumph and stood tall with a sinister grin.
"Hey!"
Light filled the area, and the man's shadows screamed in pain. The dark arms sizzled and began to fizz away, almost freeing the two women.
"Natsu," Lucy cried out in relief.
"What?" The man questioned. Turning around, the man was hit with a flamed filled punch as he was sent to the ground. Shaking his head and spitting out mud, the man clenched his fists. "No," he shook his head and crushed the mud between his fingers, "Another one? Another fucking Fairy?" Flying to his feet, the man cursed. "How many have we not killed?"
"No one, you bastard," Natsu growled out and brightened his flames.
The Shadows that laced around Lucy and Erza squealed in pain before fading out, letting the two free.
"No!" The man growled and kicked the ground, "we must have killed one!"
"Natsu," Lucy crawled out of the mud. She set her gaze on his back and whispered, "Gray?"
Natsu tensed, making Lucy swallowed in fear.
The man perked at this and his smile grew, "Oh, so I did kill a fucking Fairy?"
"No," Natsu snapped at the man, "Gray's not that weak. He's not dead."
"He killed one, didn't he?" The man questioned with a taunt, "Adam killed a fucking Fairy!"
"Shut up," Erza snapped and struck out at the man, knocking him unconscious. "Natsu," Erza spoke firmly, "Where's Gray?"
A/N: Alright I am stopping there! Next chapter is going to be the last but do not fret I will try and update next week! As for another note please do keep an eye open for a one-shot that I want to post tomorrow. Here's what I'm planning on.
One-shot: He can't sleep. Damn it, he can't sleep. Every time he closes his eyes, he can feel the light splitting open his chest, tearing his skin, shredding his muscles, crushing his bones. He can feel his life slipping, and in a last attempt to make his last moments painful, he feels the light crashing into his scull before it all goes dark. He can't sleep, and it makes him shutter in fright. He can't sleep because he knows he died that day, he knows he was supposed to die, because these memories haunt him – taunt him with unspeakable pain and fear. He can't sleep because he died that day.
A/N: I hope you liked the introduction to the one-shot I am planning on. It should go up tomorrow but if it doesn't then look for it next week. It will be based off of chapter 334. Anyway, thanks so much for reading and please leave a review if you could. If you could, please leave questions that you have so I can answer them if you have any.
Thanks again!
