A/N: ok so this is chapter 4, its really short. Next one is going to be longer. I know Samui is out of commission, but in this story let's just say she isn't.

By the way, Thanks for the reviews

Apologies, grammar OOCness

Pale moonlight streamed through the window. Hair fanned out across her pillow while crimson bangs fell carelessly over her face.

Karui was awake, staring at the ceiling. Just thinking.

Today or maybe yesterday, she wasn't sure what time it was anymore, she met Hinata's squad members. They were nice for the most part. Kiba's cool, despite their introduction. Karui knows that she might have overreacted just a bit, but he had it coming. No one insults her sensei and gets away with it.

Once they started talking she realised that she had a lot in common and he wasn't as much of a pain as she thought he'd be.

But Kiba wasn't the reason that Karui couldn't sleep.

Shino was.

Aburame Shino, its not like she liked him or anything he was just... interesting.

Karui was surprised when he asked to walk with her, they hadn't spoken much and as far as she knew they didn't have much in common. But she didn't think much about it. After all, they were going the same way so it wasn't a big deal.

They walked in silence and Karui didn't mind the quiet, it was just a little unnerving. The guy was covered up from head to toe, sure there are shinobi from Kumo who are practically mummified so its not like that's what bothered her.

It's just... It's like working with a member of the ANBU. Yes their human like any other ninja, but there was still this overwhelming sense of intimidation and you have no idea why.

She also felt this intense need to see his face, the curiosity was basically killing her.

Karui turned onto her side to stare out of the window.

The bugs were interesting. Kikaichu, is what he called them. The redhead was long passed that phase of squealing at the sight of insects. She's a kunoichi for goodness sakes!

On the battle field getting crawled on by a bug is the least of your problems.

The moment Shino told her about them, her mind started filling with questions. She couldn't imagine growing up with a nest of insects inside of her. What did they feel like, anyway? Could he feel them at all?

Come to think of it, he never did answer her question. Not directly at least.

He didn't seem like he was in any kind of pain. But he never said that he wasn't just said, "A shinobi is one that endures."

Unfortunately he didn't have much time to explain, not that he would have.

Karui felt her cheeks heat up as she thought about what happened next.

She was so distracted by the Kikaichu that she didn't notice the kid that was about to run into her.

Why didn't she notice?!

Karui groaned burying her head in the pillow, if A-sama had seen her he would have been appalled.

The girl was knocked right into Shino, who caught her.

He actually caught her.

It would have been so much better if he hadn't.

After impact, Karui found herself lying faced down, with Shino between her and the ground. His arms wrapped around her waist.

The girls face has never felt so hot before in her entire life.

It was awkward for a very long time, until Karui finally snapped out of it and stood up. She looked away trying to force down the heat in her cheeks, when he stood up and she got to see his face.

Well most of his face, his glasses were still on so she couldn't see his eyes. But still he didn't exactly look the way she thought he would.

He looked normal, Karui didn't see why he was wearing so much clothes. Maybe it's got something to do with the beetle's.

"Hey."

Karui turned towards the voice, Omoi was standing in the door with tired eyes. His signature lollipop stick nowhere to be seen.

"Hey." She said sitting up straight, "can't sleep?"

"Water." He answered briefly walking into her room. "When'd you get in?"

The redhead gave a heavy sigh, "A few hours ago... don't lecture me I already got it from Samui."

Karui's known Omoi since before her father passed, when they were in the academy. He's like a brother to her, even if she feels like tearing him apart from time to time.

The blond sat next to her on the bed, "So why can't you sleep?"

She pulled her legs up against her chest, "Nothing, just not tired. How'd it go with Bee-sama today?"

Omoi gave a snort, "He's still wandering around the Nara forest, you know him and animals. Anyway he still won't go home yet."

Karui gave a sigh. They didn't hate Konoha, it was a nice village. But waiting for their sensei to grow tired of the leaf so they could leave was getting boring.

"Great."

Omoi chuckled, "Where were you today? Samui said that you were with friends, but you don't have any. S- OW!"

Karui glared at the blond who was now rubbing his arm, trying to prevent the angry bruise that was just begging to appear.

"O.K so where were you?"

She folded her arms over her chest, "Princess introduced me to her old team mates, today."

"Yeah," Omoi lay on his side staring up at the girl "How did it go?"

"It went fine, their O.K."

"She's a Hyuuga right? So, what kinda jutsu do they use?"

"Well," Karui started, "Kiba uses his ninken Akamaru and Shino is an insect handler."

"Insect handler?"

"Yeah, he says his bugs are called Kikaichu-"

"So he's an Aburame?"

Karui's eyebrows furrowed in confusion, "How do you know that, when I didn't?"

He shrugged, "I met a few during the war."

"Oh."

"Anyway, I should get to bed," Omoi got off the bed and started walking towards the door, "Samui wants us up early for training. If I go to sleep now, maybe I'll be up on time. Or maybe I won't. What if I can't sleep? Should I just stay up like you..."

Omoi started rambling and Karui got annoyed, she picked up an extra pillow and threw it at his head.

"Hey!"

"Either stop talking or go to bed!" She snapped glaring at the blond.

"Fine, I'm gone." Omoi quickly left her room.

Karui took a deep breath and slumped into the bed, eye lids heavy. Hopefully she'll fall asleep soon, least she face the wrath of Samui.

A/N: Awkward chapter ending but I wanted to get to the next one. Haven't really decided on the P.O.V yet. So yeah, you'll have to wait and see.
