Throughout the whole day Yuiko was watching her best friend, Ritsuka. For the past couple of weeks he had been feeling sad and hurt, but now he seemed happier and more talkative, yet also more distant.
His birthday was yesterday, and today he seemed more excited, but nervous at the same time. It had her extra curious as to what had happened to make her friend change so drastically and so quickly.
"Ritsuka-kun what's up?" She asked smiling weakly. Don't get mad at me for asking this.
"…Nothing I'm just a bit tired," he answered letting out a small yawn and putting his head down on the desk his cheerful mood a contrast to what he was saying.
"Ritsuka-kun, please tell me what's going on" she said to herself, focusing back on her school work.
She would get her questions answered!
" Ritsuka-kun, let's walk home together." Attempt to get answers 1.
"I can't." Ritsuka's reply conveying excitement, though his face stayed impassive.
"Why not?" She asked with a tinge of pain in her voice. Failure at first attempt.
"Soubi is going to pick me up soon." Ritsuka tried to keep his blush to himself as events continued to replay in his mind.
"Oh, can I wait with you then?" Attempt 2
"… Sure, if you want to…" Ritsuka kept his voice as normal as possible, knowing that his friend was going to ask a million questions now. I suppose I could tell Yuiko, she already knows that we are together sooooo…
"I do, I do!" She jumped gleefully as her curly, pink tail swayed through the wind, interrupting her friend's thoughts. It worked, it worked!
They both were waiting by the school gates. Not a word was said only sounds heard were of passing cars and the wind. After a few minutes Yuiko broke the silence.
"So how are you and Soubi-kun doing?" Yuiko cringed inwardly at her words. – Well that made it obvious!
"Were doing…good." Ritsuka's blush grew more apparent.
"What did he give you for your birthday yesterday?" She asked excitedly. I might as well go along with my questions now…
Ritsuka gasped at her question while blushing more than before, remembering the night's events. "…We"
"What happened?" She said so quickly, being closer to the answer she wanted to know so bad, her heart thumped ever harder, threatening to pop out of her chest.
"We did it last night." Ritsuka tried to calmly say, hoping his pink haired friend would understand him, just this once.
"What did you do?" Nope, she was confused by his answer.
He sighed and took off his 'fake ears', allowing Yuiko to gasp and gawk, now knowing exactly what he meant, you only lost your ears if you did one thing...
"Does that answer your question now?" He asked putting back on the fake ears quickly not everyone in Tokyo needed to know what he did.
Staying quiet, now with a slight smile, Yuiko shook her head and giggled. She started to jump for joy as she could see Soubi coming towards them. Blushing slightly, not really knowing if she could look at both boys in the face for quite some time now.
"What are you giggling about?" Ritsuka asked confusedly.
"Soubi has been standing near you for a few minutes." Yuiko responded in a whisper even though she knew that the blond standing behind her friend could hear her.
Blushing at the mention of Soubi, Ritsuka turned around to see his smiling boyfriend. The man/artist/college student/university then hugged both teens.
'I may have been in love with Ritsuka-kun before. But now I'm happy for him because of Soubi-kun's presence.' She thought to herself watching the happy couple having a little difficulty.
Soubi kissed Ritsuka on the lips suddenly, and Ritsuka blushed looking away embarrassed. Soubi smiled as always.
