Finally finished this chapter! Sorry for the long wait guys.
Chapter Three, Ty's pov
I am woken up from Mitch and Jerome running in screaming stuff about the hunger games. My headache was still pretty bad, though it was way better than before, but it didn't really help. Sky was still in the room, and he heard them too and saw my reaction, so he stood and went to tell them to keep it down. I look outside, and the sun hadn't moved very far, so I couldn't have been asleep very long.
The house quiets down and Sky walks in again. "Told them you had a headache. Bit better?," he whispers.
"A little, but it's still pretty bad," I whisper back.
"Want some ice?," he asks. I nod and he leaves to get an ice pack. After he does, my headache seems to just vanish, though a slight ache is still there. But, replacing the ache, is the voice again.
'I can finally talk full sentences. Oh joy,' the voice says.
"Who are you?," I ask it.
'Don't speak so loudly. Do you want them to think you have gone insane?!,' it asks.
"Well, if I'm hearing some strange voice in my head and talking back to it, that pretty much makes me insane doesn't it?" The voices huffs and a smirk grows on my face.
'Whatever. Anyways, aren't you wondering who I am and what I'm doing in your head?,' it asks.
"I said that, didn't I?," I ask it.
"What?," Sky asks, walking back into the room.
"N-Nothing," I respond. He shrugs and picks up all the stuff he was working on.
"I need to take a trip to the village. I'm gonna trade some stuff with the villagers, see if I can get anything good," he says.
"Bye," I say as he closes the door. Then I turn my attention back to that voice. "So. Care to explain?" I get nothing in responce. "Hello?" Still nothing. I groan in annoyance. I'll have to wait until it comes back.
And I know it will.
That night my headache got worse again.
It was so bad that I told the guys to leave me in my room until the morning. My head was pounding and any light hurt. Right now, I was laying on my bed with my eyes closed, trying to get some sleep.
Bit, suddenly, the ache lessens. 'I'm back,' the voice from before chimes.
"What do you want now?," I grumble.
'Don't get that attitude with me. At least I got rid of that head pain.'
"Only partly. And what was with the screaming at first?," I ask, remembering when the guys had to take me home.
'Hey. I was technically a baby then. Babies have tantrums. Just be glad I didn't take control of your body.'
Note to self. Never make her angry.
"Could you please just leave me alone until this headache goes away?"
'Uh. Hello. I AM the headache. Just get used to it.'
I groan and roll onto my side. Somehow, even with the headache, I fell asleep.
Seto's pov
"Why have you been in here so much?," SSundee asks as he walks through the door. I look up from the book I as reading and look at him.
"Can't talk. Researching," I say before looking back down. I hear him sigh.
"Well, I came to give you some food. If you feel like coming out of here then you know where we are," he says, placing some steak on my desk before turning and leaving. I get back to skimming through the pages.
After about an hour, an image shows up and I flip back to that page. It was some sort of gem, and then I read the title. "The Ender-Crystal?," I mumble. Curious, I started to read.
The Ender-Crystal was one of the many crystals from the planet Irana. It was small and purple, and was one of the few crystals that reflected light. When you touch it, it was said that it would-
"Hey, Seto?," I hear Adam say, and turn to him. "Uh... Ty has this killer headache apparently. He keeps groaning in his sleep and can't seem to get comfortable."
"Did you check his temperature?," I ask. He nods.
"Yeah. It's perfectly normal. That why I'm so confused." I sigh.
"Just keep an eye on him. If need be, wake him up and ask if there is anything we can do. He probably just needs something to drink and a good night's rest," I say, turning back to the book to see a few of the pages had flipped over and I lost my spot. Sky nods and then walks back over to the door as I try to find the page again, and I groan when I can't and close it, sighing. He stops right before he walks out though.
"By the way, Seto," he starts. "Whatever you're doing, make sure you take some breaks from it. We don't want you to get sick either." Then he walks out and closes the door, leaving me alone with all my stuff.
Ty's pov
I wake up in the morning and see a glass of water on my table, my headache nearly gone, and faintly remember Adam waking me up to ask me if I needed anything. Once I had said I was just tired he nodded, but then went to get me some water. I fell asleep before he got back.
I drink the water while sitting up, but when I lean back and my back gets pressed against the wall it hurts and I wince, leaning forward again. "What in the..." Slowly I press against my back with my hand and it hurts again, but also felt hot.
Being careful of my back I stand, grabbing the, now empty, glass and walk down the stairs to the kitchen to put the glass in the sink. Ian and Jason were having some breakfast, and I remember how the three of us had mining duty this morning.
"Oh yeah. Forgot about how we were all going mining. I'll go get ready," I say.
"How's your headache?," Jason asks. I stop at the door.
"It's way better. I'll be right back." Then I run upstairs and get ready, returning downstairs and grabbing a few pieces of bread before jogging to the door.
"I told Adam you are feeling better and coming with us. All ready to go?," Ian asks. I nod, taking a bite of bread and following them out the door.
We make it to the cave and head inside, going to where we had last left off and going through, putting up torches and mining any ores we found. My back would seize with pain every once in a while, but overall it wasn't bothering me. It hurt the most when Ian broke a block above me and the pebbles littered all over me.
As I was mining some iron, I hear Jason gasp. "Ian. There is a boatload of diamonds over here. Help me mine it," he says. Ian, who was watching out for mobs while I was mining turns to me.
"Will you be okay being alone for a bit?," he asks.
"Yeah. Go ahead," I say. A moment later I hear his footsteps leaving, but get confused when suddenly everything goes silent.
I stop and turn to where Ian and Jason had left, about to ask then why they got so quiet, when I see their mouths were moving. 'What's going on?,' I wonder.
Suddenly, a great pain erupts from my back and I scream, but this time I hear my scream as well as Jason and Ian's shouts. A whizz of air sounds from above me and I hear a clatter of bones fall to the ground a few moments before Jason was kneeling next to me.
"Stay still Ty. I've gotta get these arrows out. Ian, could you run home as fast as you can and get Seto and Sky?," he asks. I nod to what he told me and hear Ian running down the cave. "Hang on Ty. As soon as Seto gets here he can help me get these out. Then we can head home and you can rest."
I hear ripping and then something presses against where an arrow was sticking out of my back, making the pain increase. I screech, and start shaking. "Hang in there Ty. I'm trying to slow down the blood flow."
"I know. It doesn't stop it from hurting," I pant out.
"Was your back the warm when you woke up? It can't be from the wounds," Jason says.
"Well, yeah, but nothing I can't handle."
"Ty," Jason groans. "I understand that you want to be tough, but you are still the youngest with the least experience. I don't even know what's going on with your back. Why it's so warm, I mean. You have to tell us stuff like that."
"I'm fine okay? Maybe I'm just getting sick. It's nothing to be worried about." It's then I hear footsteps from further down the cave. "They're nearly here again."
"What do you mean? I can't hear anything." I look up and see them rounding the corner of the long pathway we walked down. "How did you hear- you know what. Never mind. Let's just get these arrows out and head home."
Uh... hey. Sorry again for the long wait. Enormous writers block for this story. I think it's wearing off now though, so yay!
Also sorry for not updating anything in general for over a month. I'm having trouble starting the third episode of 'Similarly Different', if you know that story, so that's why it hasn't been put up yet. But, I'll have you know that you can expect a new chapter of 'We Are The Last' within this month. I'm gonna work on it right after I finish this AN. The sequel of 'The Wings Of Wonder' is going well. I've got a lot of ideas for that right now.
Again. Super duper sorry this chapter took so long. I hope you liked it though!
Bye!
