Chapter 4: Our darkest hour.
Everything was the same cycle of training that all of them had to do but for her it was totally different, being number two she had to take care and ensure the welfare of all children. Who more than her and number one could take care of them, even their instructors or caregivers didn't seem to care much about their condition; Even the person she calls "mama" didn't care if they lived or died, all she wants is to convert them into the best version of herself.
But how can you get the best version of someone who is not human?
A blow with the electric baton held by mother left Number two on the floor, the girl kept her scream in, because she knew it would be much worse if she showed some kind of action.
The voice of "mama" was monotonous, cold and quite difficult to describe how it made them all feel. "If your movements were not so obvious and easy to deduce, you would not have the problem of someone defeating."
She was on the floor at the point of losing consciousness, she couldn't faint, she had to be attentive to everything she heard from her. If she just dropped her eyes the punishment would be much worse for her.
She looked at little Maria on the floor next to her, she looked almost like a zombie with her lifeless eyes. She tried to keep her awake so she wouldn't fade.
Although her body had no strength she took the hand of the girl so that she wouldn't faint. "Please stay awake just for a minute-"
"Silence." The cry of the woman in the shadows was enough for her to shut up, because she had to behave like a coward right now. "Indisciplined as always and silly as a bear, you make too many mistakes."
Yuritzi watched her, from the position she was in it was not difficult for her to be seen as a giant.
"A pathetic error as always."
Yuritzi woke up suddenly from her bed. She breathed so hard that sweat ran all over her body, she cried with nothing to lose for a few minutes; agonizing minutes for her. A few moments later she removed her face from her hand and looked at the window of her room, she needed to dispel or at least a way to pay for the mistake she made.
She didn't take any time before getting dressed in a black jacket and a cap of the same color, she had to be careful that Miguel didn't see her or realize she had left the house for the moment.
Everything was the same training cycle that they all had to cross but for her it was totally different, being the number five everything was more complicated for her and the results of her practices showed how weak and lil-prepared she was. The worst part of all were the training duels
"Link summon appear!" A voice said.
A beast manifested in front of her, that dark shadow was there with roars that left her body vibrating in fear to the point that she had to stay on the ground trembling at what she saw.
"Please stay away, I don't want to, I don't want to fail...please." She was shaken but she knew that no word would stop the creature. The creature opened its mouth and a flare formed.
Maria woke up suddenly, she had returned to having nightmares, the beat of her heart accelerated and drops of sweat on her forehead formed.
A light that emanated from the duel disk Yuritzi made, it was nothing more than Zero-Q was awakened to see how the girl woke up so sharply.*Why did you wake up so suddenly?* Zero tried to comfort her using sign language.
Her arms trembled and she tried to move her hands in order to be able to communicate.*I need Yuritzi.*
You could only hear the sound of the punches drilled in the wall below the point that crossed the stream. Yuritzi didn't mind the noise, at their best it made her feel reassured that she could at least for a moment to silence that voice that tormented her in her head.
But how could she eliminate the demons of the past?
"You failed again, if you would stop being so intense and for a minute listen to me, you wouldn't make so many mistakes."
She tried to hit harder, she tried to inflict more pain on herself to see if she could make that voice fade away. "I'm a bloody mistake, I'm a goddamn waste. How could I fail on a mission as simple as that. "She screamed at herself." You also missed number one and lost the most important thing to you. "
With each hit the wall was broken a little more, her knuckles started to bleed, for a moment she stopped because she was beginning to lose strength, so she began to hit her head until her forehead started to run red with blood.
"Why, why dont you leave me alone? !" She wrapped her arms around herself while tears came from her eyes.
Miguel was in his bed sleeping, it was at least three o'clock in the morning, while outside it was beginning to rain enough to look like some seasonal storm.
"Miguel, you need to wake up, we have a problem." Zero's voice disturbed his dreams and unfortunately for him he had to wake up.
When he looked, it was his sister with concern on her face as she held Yuritzi's duel disk. "Yuritzi is not in her room and Maria had a nightmare." Zero said to the man, who saw poor Maria tired and exhausted.
Miguel got up from the bed to take his younger sister to bed. "Go to sleep, I'll take care of her."
"Will she be alright?" Zero asked, the concern in her voice was also felt, she felt guilty for letting her lose her favorite card.
"I don't think she'll hate you, wait until the morning and we'll talk about all this, when things calm down." Miguel confessed as he opened the door of the room, putting his sister in bed
Miguel looked at Ai. "Zero, go to sleep, I want to make Maria go to sleep." The Ai understood perfectly, nodding her head while returning inside the duel disk.
After she hid the man began to caress the head of his sister so that she began to calm down. It was normal that since he was a child to take care of her every time she had a nightmare or when Yuritzi was not available, he always tried to be with her as soon as possible.
Even when things got bad he would always gonna tried to be there for his sisters.
Yuritzi made sure not to enter through the main door of the house, so she went back through the same window with which she had left before, making sure not to wake anyone. She entered her room and observed the wounds she had inflicted, she needed a way to clean herself before Miguel or Maria saw her this way.
The light in her room turned on, when she looked to find the culprit she found it was Miguel, sitting on her bed, noticing how tired he looked he seemed to have been up all night. He was worried about what would have happened to her.
After a few minutes of an awkward silence between the two, Miguel finally spoke.
"Maria realized that you weren't in your room and well I just need to be sure that nothing happened to you." He said, scanning her from head to toe, her clothes were soaked and clearly the blood drained from the girl's hands to the floor. "I gonna go for the bandages and the medicine box."
After having searched for the necessary medical objects, Miguel began to treat her wounds, cleaning them. The girl had her head down not wanting to see him, embarrassed by the whole situation and how silly she thought she looked.
The man calmly began to treat her using alcohol on her knuckles, she didn't feel any pain when it was applied, nor she thought that she felt something when she inflicted those wounds. She was used to pain to the point that it was normal for her. Although since childhood the wounds have never been a problem with her, since the first time he tried to heal her wounds at least one day later she had been completely healed without explanation.
Maybe all that had to do with that place where Maria was taken after she was kidnapped, that place she called "Zuhause" or at least that's what she and that woman named Black Lotus told her.
Miguel wanting to break the silence between them, started talking about something they both enjoyed. "You know I recorded the last chapter of Kamen Rider: Zero One if you're interested in seeing it." He said trying to cheer her up. "I even have those superhero movies that you wanted see last month on the computer, maybe when you have free time we can see the three of them together at night." Yuritzi was still silent.
The man sighed he had no success whatsoever in making her speak, nor did he want to confront the matter in a direct way, he was afraid that he would only make things worse.
Miguel now was responsible for raising his head to clean her forehead, Yuritzi closed her eyes to not see Miguel's face. "Who knows maybe some tacos, sodas and we can eat all quiet to spend some time alone. "
None of that encouraged her, the man just sighed and then put the bandages on, he was worried about the whole situation and how she was acting, it had been about two years since he last saw her this way but he had only seen her act like this in his life three times in the ten years that he had known her.
"That's it." Miguel finished fixing her bandages, the man sighed when he saw that she was still in that condition.
"What if you don't go to school today, it's better if-" He stopped when Yuritzi looked into his eyes, it wasn't her usual look it was a much colder as if all life would had been sucked from the teenager.
"We'll go now to Link Vrains there's still some time left before going to school." She was addressing him in a colder tone than usual, "I can't leave my facade just because of some injuries that I have." Yuritzi said, she moved away from Miguel's side to stand in front of the door before leaving. "I have to pay for my nonsense."
"But there are only a few hours left for your classes, isn't it better that you use those hours to sleep?" He asked doubtful of his stepsister. "You should try to rest, it's dangerous if you overexert yourself."
"I don't have time for that, there's work to do and there are too many people that depend on me." With a simple statement she left the room where the man finally had to agree with her.
(Link Vrains.)
The reporter looked at the bodies of the Hanoi knights on the ground. Some of them were badly wounded, others seemed to have been hit against the walls between the buildings while others had been stuck on the same wall with an electric shock that immobilized each one of them; but for some reason she didn't seem to electrocute them in any way even if she tried to touch them nothing happened.
She had heard a rumor that in this sector of Vrains there were many activities of the knights of Hanoi in this area so she had to wake up at four in the morning to be able to witness it. She knew that in school it would be difficult to concentrate but all that would be worthwhile just to find necessary tests and report to SOL about this.
But who could have been responsible for all this? She couldn't ask the Knights on the floor for obvious reasons; so she continued to walk down the alley with care.
"Thundercode Talker end him with Thunder Ultimate Slash !" The voice at the end of the alley was Lightning Hunter ordering Thundercode Talker to destroying a Cracking Dragon with his axe. It exploding the minute after the impact throwing the Knight of Hanoi against the wall.
"Ahhhh!" The man screamed when he was thrown to the wall after falling to the front floor while the reporter watched the whole scene; She didn't interfere and remained silent as an observer because something strange happened with Lightning Hunter, she did not have her usual duel disk, but rather the model created by SOL Technologies.
The huntress approached the Knight and took him by the neck, looking for answers: "Did you see how your friends got defeated?" The huntress forced him to observe the pile of his companions who were unconscious. "Now give me the information I want or you'll end up a lot worse than them!"
He tried to pronounce words but he couldn't. "I... I... I have no idea where the Link Vrains Ghost is, we didn't even know he works with us." The hunter tightened her grip around his neck, pressing him, causing more damage to him, she had that try to get more information from him.
Tech Glitch was in shock as the hero of Link Vrains tortured the man, she had to do something but before getting up, Lightning Hunter had released the man who was still breathing.
She deactivate the program that kept the other Knights still connected and all of them disappeared. The huntress hit the wall frustrated in not to get the information she wanted. "CARAJO!" She hit the wall again. "You couldn't even do this well!"
Tech Glitch didn't know who Lightning Hunter was talking to, maybe she communicated with someone else or the AI s he always had but neither were there. "Lightning Hunter..." She mumbled trying to approach the hero but accidentally stepping on a can made Lightning Hunter realize the approach and they looked at each other. "I'm not here to hurt you."
The huntress didn't care and disconnected from Link Vrains with a lightning that deactivated all the cameras that Tech Glitch had despite the fact they weren't tuned on in the first place. Tech Glitch was very confused by the whole situation.
Unbeknownst to either of them, some had been watching the whole situation unfold from the top of one of the buildings, the person in question smirked "Interesting..." And then vanished promptly after it.
In the command centre Yuritzi came out of the chamber frustrated by not having found anything in the fight, another damn mistake on her part. Miguel counteracted the girl's frustration, it wasn't her usual blows against the wall or the screams she made, she just walked with her head down, it was clear that she didn't want to talk about the situation.
He tried to communicate with her, trying not to talk about the direct topic. "Hey, what do you want for breakfast?" He spoke as always, being as charismatic as possible and making the girl forget the subject for a moment.
But it didn't work, the only reaction he got from the girl was a simple uncomfortable silence as she walked to the door.
He had to say something, he was uncomfortable scratching his head trying to say something to keep her occupied "Don't forget your umbrella, it's about to rain."
"Understood, thank you." She said in a cold tone. "I won't come home today, I have something to do."
"How will I communicate with you and where will you sleep?" Miguel asked worried about her welfare.
"I will find a place and I will communicate with you using the cell phone." Yuritzi mentioned after leaving the door. Miguel again did nothing to help her, again he failed the sister he had to take care of.
Yuritzi left by the door of the house but not knowing that she was being watched by Maria and Zero.
Today didn't seem to be his day for Yusaku Fujiki the rain did not even let him go to school and he had to stay at a bus stop to avoid getting wet. He had to wait for a bus, but he had waited more than 15 minutes for it to arrive. If this continued, he would be late for school.
All those students walked with their umbrellas protecting them from the water, while he had one at home it was damaged with some holes in it.
Maybe he would have to give up, maybe not going to school was a better idea even if he had to put up with that unbearable Ai that lives in his house. But at least he would connect in Vrains to hunt the Hanoi and later go to Kusanagi in the afternoon.
Something pulled him out of his thoughts or rather a person in front of him; It was the white-haired girl in his class, he didn't remember her name well, though he did not remember much of his classroom anyway. All those people always seemed strange or never came to talk much with them more than some comments, also that weird guy named Naoki.
The girl was carrying an umbrella but the strangest thing of it all was that she was wearing a French cap that hid her forehead and gloves, Yusaku did not see her speak but apparently she was trying to make signs with her fingers so that both of them went with her umbrella.
At first Yusaku didn't understand the message clearly but it seemed that the girl did not have much interest in communicating, maybe she was deaf or did not have an interest in talking to him but the more he saw other things it seemed different, like those white gloves that she wore. Her eyes had dark circles, it seemed that she had not slept well; after making the sign the girl lowered her head.
He had no choice but to accept and go with her, who would say a miracle on a rainy day.
Half an hour passed after that, the two teenagers arrived at school almost on time, the trip was surprisingly quiet for Yusaku. since the girl did not speak at all in the whole trip, rather she communicated using her fingers. He was in front of the school and they entered the building, where at least he did not have to endure the rain anymore.
He had to thank her for what she did, she was drying the umbrella so it was a perfect opportunity, he stood in front of her. "Thanks for the help." The girl, still the same size as him, started to make uncomfortable gestures with her face, like she was scared to talk. "Did I say something wrong?"
The girl shook her head trying to let him know that there wasn't something wrong, Yuritzi was just uncomfortable talking to him because of her introverted personality. The girl tried to say something. "Not at all, I just do not like to talk." She started to laugh uncomfortably with a laugh that made Yusaku himself open his eyes in surprise. Carajo, I must look like a damn idiot, say something to not look like a completely Fool.
She looked at her umbrella and an idea occurred to her "Ehhhhhh, take my umbrella so you do not get wet."
"But what will you use?"
"I have another one in my backpack, see you later." And with that the girl ran away, almost colliding with a student but managing to stop in time and then apologizing to that person before continue on her way.
Yusaku was disoriented with everything he just saw. Apparently he could confirm that all the students in his class were weird people.
Zero watched Miguel, she could feel that he didn't feel good with everything that happened, but she had to try to argue with him what happened and then tell Maria. Since after Yuritzi had gone out the door this morning both spoke and decided that they had to find a way to support Yuritzi in this problem.
"Has something happened with you Miguel? I don't see you as energetic as usual." The Ai broke the silence.
Miguel stopped typing for a moment to look at Zero. "It must be because I'm still tired from taking so much time working, you know how I am, jejjeje."
"Humans have this idea that if you open up with someone else maybe it will help you overcome your problem or the situation you are in."
"You researched that from the internet, didn't you?"
"Oh no, I saw in in a series of magic girls with Maria." Miguel wasn't surprised about that. "It's amazing how humans can produce their feelings with the fiction they recreate."
He sighed for a moment and then looked at the Ai. "Well, I never thought that I had to open up with a non-living being." He didn't know how to say it, he began to play with his fingers because of nervousness.
"Are you sure you want to talk?" Zero asked, Miguel nodded.
"You see Yuritzi and I are quite different, we can connect in some things but at the end of the day we can never open ourselves personally with our feelings about each other."
Zero's face changed to one of more concern. "But you both always look so good together, the three of you have always been like siblings from how I've seen you interact."
"Just because you get along well with someone doesn't mean you can understand that person at all, there are things that I can't understand" Miguel said, more distressed than ever. "When, she acts that way, the only thing I can do is keep quiet and wait for her to feel better. "
Zero was surprised by that statement. "How long can she last like that?"
"I don't know, every time she enters that state of depression I try to cure her physical injuries but her own heart is something that I can't reach."
"But can't you try to talk to her? Like what I am doing with you." Zero replied trying to convince him.
"There are wounds that you can not heal, Zero." Miguel spoke in a low tone truning back to what he was doing on the computer, how could he confront the situation without making everything worse?
All those questions ruffled his head, it's as if he had to confront his father again.
"Miguel, you haven't finished Lightning Acess yet?" Zero asked a question.
Miguel turned his head away from the computer for a moment. "No, I havenol't finished deciphering the program completely, I still have problems with the algorithm that is still incomplete and part of its programming is unfinished."
"Can I help?"
The adult smiled. "Do you want to help Yuritzi in an indirect way?"
Zero pressed her chest and then lowered her head "It was my fault. I let her lose her favorite card, I want to do everything possible to repair what I did, it won't be the same card but at least it's gonna be the sword that we forged together."
He watched the data on the screen massaging his chin every minute, making a strange sound if something bothered him enough. Strange moments like these made him wonder how he could endure all these years of work.
"You know, it wouldn't bother me if you tried to be a little more quiet with your analysis, that annoying noise you make when we worked together is still poison for my ears." Kogami commented lying on what was a table.
Poison didn't take his eyes off the screens, he continued to analyse the data but that didn't mean he wouldn't join in. "You're supposed to be quite like a good, polite patient. You should act a little more respectfully."
He opened his left eye to observe him. "I could get a better doctor."
Poison had to stop, turn around and although he wore that mask you could tell he was looking at him with a straight face. "What kind of doctor would treat your condition?"
Kogami smirked. "Someone with a better sense of humour."
Poison rolled his eyes and then turned back around, going back to analysing data but not before saying, "Do me a favour and don't act like this when things return to normal."
While they discussed each other's children, they materialized in the place. Oblivion was the first to present herself with a cordial posture of reverence to then look at them both and wink condescendingly.
"Father, dude how are you?" She boasted her good manners.
"Why do you pretend to have such kindness?" Poison asked interested in the good mood in which his daughter was.
"It's a good day." She said, her arms crossed behind her back as she smiled.
"Lockdown didn't achieve his goal of destroying Lightning Hunter but we got important data of him and we now have an idea of how to defeat them." Revolver reported.
"Is Lockdown still working with us?" Poison asked.
"Yes and I have a plan. We use his Mirror Link Vrains program and utilise it with the way he puts people into a coma." Revolver explained.
"You talk about the plan of the Hanoi tower, do you still want to execute it?" Kogami mentioned interested, he had already discussed this before but it had only been an idea.
"Man created a tower to reach the heavens, thinking that they would become superior to God but he punished them for their disobedience." He explained, while materializing a screen with the information about the plan to both Kogami and Poison. "Wouldn't it be better for our great revenge to use that against all our enemies, to use what Sol buid to destroy both."
"Interesting idea, that will ensure the destruction of the Ignis and Link Vrains." Poison agreed with the plan. "With the cooperation of all the Knights of Hanoi in this, we can build such a program but we need more control of the data and exactly where to use it, we need Hoelle's help in this. "
Kogami also had to agree with them.
"I regret changing the subject so abruptly, I couldn't take Lightning Hunter's deck because their defences were stronger but I could get a card from them." Oblivion materialized in her fingers Lightning Dragon, both Poison and Kogami looked at card surprised.
Kogami stood up from the table he was on. "Recovering the ignis must have been a problem, too, if the only thing you recovered was a Cyberse card." Oblivion nood her head at Kogami's statement. "Destroy it immediately, that poison shouldn't be in my sight. "
"No!" She yelled surprising the three men in the room.
"Oblivion!" Both Poison and Kogami replied to the teenager's disobedience.
"Before I start, I don't have a good reason to get rid of such a powerful weapon and it's not like I didn't already have a Cyberse card in my deck." Oblivion claimed, trying everything she could so that they would not see her disobedience as an act of rebellion. "I can use it to fight against our enemies, fight venom with venom?."
Revolver even came out to defend her plan. "We've discussed an idea of how to deal with both Playmaker and Lightning Hunter and using Oblivion's ability to copy programs, we will use Playmaker's Storm Access as our own weapon."
Kogami crossed both arms looking at both Revolver and Oblivion. "Using the same weapon used by our enemies is somewhat difficult but because we have no other way it is the only thing we have left." Kogami doubted but there was no other option, he looked at Poison to sought his approval.
"I agree, it can work." He watched Revolver. "But, I imagine you think about using the power of the datastorm as a weapon isn't the only reason, am I right?"
Revolver nodded his head. "Exactly, you can use it to transmit data that the Tower of Hanoi needs. Our own source of energy without SOL technologies knowing. "
"Then I agree, it's a good plan, what do you think of your Kogami?" Poison went on to look at his partner, who nodded his head about the whole plan.
Excellent, his parents' approval was the only thing he needed.
"I'll be ready with Oblivion for the plan, thanks for accepting our idea." Revolver said making a bow with Oblivion.
Before disappearing, Oblivion also apologized "I'm sorry for my imprudence, I will not do that again." Both disappeared.
Some time later they reappeared immediately in another part of the Hanoi server.
Oblivion put her hand on her chest, that talk with them was difficult, she didn't know if she could face her father that way again. "If I have to face that man again that way, I'll have a heart attack.
Revolver put his hand on his knight's shoulder. "Three reasons to live, Three reasons to survive, without that you can die." His knight stood up straight, those words worked to relieve her slight frustration.
"Thank you."
"To tell you the truth, you could have done better." Revolver responded by doing his typical smirk and destroying the moment.
The knight turned around and watched him with a straight face for that comment "I swear that one day I'll strangle you one day." He said to stand up. "I apologize for what I told you before, I shouldn't mock you in front of uncle. "
"Forget about that now, we have a job to do." The leader of the Knights of Hanoi proclaimed with data in the palm of his hand. "Your ability in Link Vrains will allow you to assimilate the data of Playmaker's skill, this will be the plan of how to get to intercept it."
Oblivion received the data in her hands. "I will try to push his limits and force him to use his skill, it will be easy." Oblivion mentioned"Just in case, I hope you are my slaves when the headaches affect me by using my ability."
"Don't press my buttons and do your job."
The knight stuck her tongue out and Revolver rolled his eyes.
"Lockdown?" Kryan said, blinking owlishly before downing the bottle of vodka in his hand. "Is this that spectre guy who went around stealing people's memories and putting them in comas?"
Akira nodded solemnly, folding his hands under his chin "Indeed. He'd been causing havoc throughout all of Link Vrains by taking people's consciousness from them. It turns out that he was working for the Knights of Hanoi as well, making him even more dangerous than if he were an individual party."
Akira had decided that the only place he could properly discuss this with Kryan was at the Zaizen house. He didn't trust the people in SOL, they could easily rat him out to the higher ups for interfering in something he shouldn't be. The only person he felt comfortable discussing this with was his deputy and long term friend Kryan.
Unfortunately, Kryan, whilst he was definitely listening and participating, had taken this mostly as an excuse to get himself absolutely hammered without anyone finding out, downing numerous bottles of alcohol with vodka being the poison this time round. It reminded Akira of the first time that he had met the long haired male and how their friendship started. But now wasn't the time for that.
"To make matters worse, it was reported that one who defeated him was Lightning Hunter." At that name, Kryan stopped drinking and looked Akira dead in the eyes.
"Lightning Hunter? Why am I not shocked?" Kryan shrugged "The second they became independent from us they started to undertake their own missions. Hell, we used Go to try and take them down and that didn't work as intended. They're like a machine, no wonder they don't claim to be human. But why does it matter that it was them?"
Akira sighed, it seemed like Kryan was already becoming mentally impaired by the sheer amount of booze he'd already drunk "I have this feeling and I'm still not quite where it came from but I think Aoi's going to do something irrational. Ever since Playmaker first appeared she's wanted to duel him and now that Lightning Hunter is acting out like this, I get the feeling that she may try and duel them now. She might hurt herself."
Inappropriately, Kryan burst out in laughter causing Akira to glare at him "Sorry! That's the alcohol speaking. I see where you're coming from, you must be a good brother to her then if you worry about her wellbeing so much. Coming from a fellow older brother I can say that I have faith that you'll make the right call in the end."
That's right, Kryan had a younger sibling too. Akira had briefly forgotten that detail "I don't know where she gets it from but she's got this headstrong belief that she can handle herself through any situation. Why can't she see that I'm only trying to protect her?"
"Keh, teenagers do stupid things. I did stupid things, you did stupid things, there's something to be said in that case. However, I agree that this situation is different. Two different vigilante duelists with very high danger levels, I wouldn't want my baby brother anywhere near them!" Kryan's face then suddenly darkened "But know this, you won't be able to keep her forever."
"I get that…" Akira mumbled, tilting his head down to the ground.
He then felt a pressure on his shoulder and looked up to see Kryan with his hands there "Don't beat yourself up over it, I assure you that everything will end up fine. Now…" Kryan pulled back and pulled out a really expensive looking bottle "Do you want some of this wine? Because if not, I'll drink the whole thing!"
"You've had too much already!"
"I'm not some lightweight!"
And the conversation proceeded to devolve into how much Kryan could actually take until his liver gave out on him or he blacked out drunk for the 100th time in his life.
What both of them failed to notice throughout the entire thing was that a certain person, a female with brown hair in a bob cut had been loitering in the corridor just outside the room Akira and Kryan had been talking in. At first she had been interested in what they were discussing about Link Vrains but when the topic shifted she felt anger course through her system. Why did her brother still she her as a child? Why did he think she'd do something dangerous? The only thing dangerous was how overprotective he was and that overprotectiveness drove her insane.
With that, the girl named Aoi Zaizen departed the scene.
(General hospital of Den city.)
"We still can't know exactly if someday she can recover her memories from before the incident." A red-haired female doctor named Kyoko Taki informed Kenichi in her office about his girlfriend's situation.
"But at least my Komato will be fine, she will at least be able to recover and live her life?" Kenichi Himura asked with a pessimistic look but with some hope.
"She could live her life but she won't be able to recognize you or her family, it will take time but try not to force it. I'm sorry." The woman reported with a sincere sadness.
"I understand." Kenichi stood up and bowed, "Thanks for everything you've done." Tears came out of his eyes. At least he could take solace in the fact they had done everything they could.
After a while, he and his girlfriend left the office, he had not left the building because he was only at the exit. His beautiful Komato didn't have the smile of the woman he used to love; she was confused she didn't know him and everything seemed too alien to her, they had to explain several things before they left, who she was, where she lived but she still didn't know that the man who was carrying her in the wheelchair was supposed to be her boyfriend.
"I'll take you to your parents' house, they should be very worried about you and I'm sure it's better that you stay with them." Kenichi assured her but herparents' mention didn't do much for her.
The sound of his cell phone informed him that he was receiving a call; before taking the call he made sure to see who it was, he recognized it immediately but before taking it he needed a little privacy.
"Komato, if you can excuse me, I need to make a call in the bathroom."
A few seconds after entering the bathroom, he took the phone. "Are you going to charge me?" Kenichi spoke with a firm voice, he didn't have time to talk with hunters. "I don't have the money now, I can give it to you in a few weeks. "
"I don't want money, I just called to promise you that I will pay for the treatment of your girlfriend and the other victims. It's my way of letting you know that I'll fix that mistake of not being able to save your girlfriend entirely. "
Kenichi opened his eyes, he thought that Lightning Hunter would only call him back for the money but to pay for his girlfriend's treatment, this is something he didn't expect. "Why?"
"It's my professional ethic, if I fail my work I must find a way for my client to feel satisfied."
"Hu-Hunter."
"I promise I'll bring her back, Kenichi Himura."
She hung up the phone, meanwhile it was still raining in the streets of Den City. Yuritzi was in the vicinity of the central hospital, near a lost alley stuck with her back to a building while slowly falling to the ground. She started crying again.
"I'm going to save them all, I'll will try to save them all this time and then I'll show you that I'm not like you, I'm not a fucking monster mom."
I wanted the chapter to be short instead of having 10,000 words, besides I did not want any duel in this, just pure depression for Yuritzi. Also, I promise you that all of you will have the duel of Playmaker against Oblivion in the next chapter.
And yes, Hunter only lost a lightning Dragon, not his deck, it was a mistake of mine to write that.
Also the character of Aymir who im speak in the past chapter will not be a ninja, will be a cowboy, if you have any interest in sending an idea for her deck that Is "Outlaw Jeese" that is Hereicome creation for his first story and I accept any suggestions for future ones here.
