Right, so I got 5 more reviews from posting one chapter, and so I'm really going to continue this from now on. Here's the 4th chapter. Oh, and sorry if I got some of the 'faces' he sees during the regeneration wrong. I haven't seen all the 4th doctor stories yet :)
Disclaimer:
5th: Oh look, I think we've got another chapter!
6th: Oh no, not another chapter... I'm getting tired of the exercise this puts me through...
5th: You're not in it yet!
6th: Well neither are you! Now then, I shall do the disclaimer today.
Me: Alright, get on with it!
6th: YOLOstories doesn't own anything but the plot.
Chapter 4 – A Master Plan
Here I was, stumbling in this crooked, tilted box. There wasn't really much tasteful design in here. It was mostly just a white metal wall. Reminded me of the TARDIS.
That tube danced tantalisingly out of reach. If I only I could reach it and pull it out of its socket, the Master's plan will be foiled. Then it would only be the simple trick of fooling a couple of policemen with some jelly babies.
The box jerked forwards, finally. I didn't have much time, so I grabbed the tube and pulled as hard as I could. Rapidly, like a machine gun, sparks and explosions forced themselves from the empty socket and into the air. A jet of flame spurted out. That was the last I got to notice. My own momentum pulled me out into the chilling air, with only the tube to clutch to.
My imminent death grew ever closer. It wasn't one of the nicest places to die, certainly. My hat almost blew away in the winds wrapping around me and they chilled me to the bone. My hands were growing numb, and I didn't have much time to climb down the tower, especially since the ladder was on the other side. I would have to climb down the struts of the satellite tower. I shivered, just hanging there, the fear clearly etched onto my face.
The Master's face before he possessed another loomed into my field of vision, the almost dead husk of a Time Lord, hanging on to the last strands of life, as I was now. Then came a Dalek. Different other faces appeared too, including a Cyberman, Davros and a Sontaran, the Dark Master, Rassilon, a Zygon… They all said the name I chose when standing in front of those beating drums all those days ago… 'Doctor'. If I felt cold before, now I was like a freezer.
I swung the pipe towards the struts of the tower and grabbed on, but my freezing cold hands simply couldn't clutch it well enough. I fell, almost 100 metres, crashing onto the grass below. Again I see visions, but this time it's of my companions, my friends. "Doctor?" Ask Nyssa and Tegan. There's Sarah Jane, Harry Sullivan, The Brigadier, Leela, K-9, Romana… all asking my name. "Doctor?" asked Adric. "Doctor!"
I looked at him and smiled. I'd finally worked it out. "It's the end," I whispered, "that the moment has been prepared for." I raised my hand, and there was the now familiar form of the Watcher, slowly walking towards me.
"The Watcher!" Exclaimed Adric.
"He was he Doctor all the time!" Nyssa said.
I felt a cool breeze as a green haze settled over my face. The Watcher was joining me. Or was he? As soon as we had merged, I felt him leave again, rather abruptly. Had something gone wrong? I opened my eyes.
.
The sky was blue, but dimmed by the pollution of a city. I looked up. A man in frills and a cape was looking at me. It was my 3rd form. "Ah," he said. "Glad there's someone I can talk to."
"Whatever do you mean?" I asked him.
"Well, for a start, there's some sort of Vacuum,"
"I see," I said.
"And it's cloning all forms of us just as we start to regenerate sucking us to the crash site." He pointed to a rather damaged TARDIS.
"Ah. A problem."
"Exactly. And my first form thinks I'm a dandy, my second is one of the most infuriating people ever, and my eleventh is, quite frankly, insane."
A young man wearing tweed and a bow tie stumbled out of the smoking wreckage with a green Sonic Screwdriver in hand.
"Word of advice," he said. "NEVER try to fix the Chameleon Circuit!"
