A Haunting

Part 4

Where the fuck did Feli run off to?

This was bullshit. This was complete and total bullshit. Lovi didn't want to come to this stupid house. She was dragged into it, against her will, by the stupid pushy American just because she happened to be walking down the wrong school hallway at the wrong time. Ally just randomly pounced on her and begged her to be her and Ivan's 'judge' and refused to take 'fuck off' for an answer.

She finally agreed, partly just to get the idiot to shut up, and partly because she unfortunately knew about Lovi's weakness for quality tomatoes. "I'll buy you all the tomatoes you can eat for a whole month!" she proclaimed and, after haggling it up to three months, Lovi agreed. Which had been an awful idea obviously, since she was now forced to wander around this filthy place all by herself, trying to find her idiot sister who probably managed to fall down a staircase or something stupid like that.

Ugh. It was all that fucking spooky thing's fault. It just popped up like that and scared them all.

She was trying to avoid thinking too hard about the fucking spooky thing. It looked like a ghost, but there was no way that was what it really was... It must have been some stupid hallucination or something that was caused by the creepy air in this place.

Stupid hallucination.

She scowled and glared at the air in front of her, daring the hallucination to show its face again so she could punch it. She wanted to leave. But she couldn't do that without her sister—the other two could find their way out themselves, she didn't care about them.

"Hola, amiga!"

And Lovi wasn't entirely sure how she ended up underneath the table—she acted entirely on instinct apparently—but that's where she suddenly found herself. Underneath a table, cowering with her arms over her head.

It was the fucking spooky thing again, although her brain really did not want to accept that the voice she heard had come from a hallucination. It sounded too real, like the person (or thing) that spoke was standing right beside her.

Fucking...

"Amiga? What are you doing?"

She squeaked rather embarrassingly as a shimmering thing moved into her line of sight. The thing resembled a pair of human legs, although the shape kept moving in and out of focus like something was fucking with her eyes and occasionally the leg-like things seemed to form together, almost like a tail. Which was obviously not normal for legs. Also, the 'feet' weren't resting on the floor like feet were supposed to; they were instead hovering.

What the fuck was going on? She pinched herself, not wanting to accept what she was seeing.

But they didn't disappear. No, instead, something else moved into sight.

This was a face, definitely a human face. Or it had been at one point.

It was the fucking spooky thing. Half of a smile and a single eye were all that remained of what had obviously been a human face at one point, until someone blasted it away... Probably with a gun.

Lovi might have screamed again, but she noticed the expression held in the single eye. The spooky thing looked worried, which was surprising enough that she actually forgot to freak out.

His half smile turned into a half frown as he crouched down... or floated into a crouch. Whatever. "Are you scared, amiga? What are you doing here?"

"I'm—" She couldn't believe that she was actually responding to the fucking spooky thing. Although, he was acting much less terrifying than she expected. "I got forced into coming here by my sister's stupid friends and we all got separated when you just popped up and freaked us out." She gave him her best glare, which was probably lessened in intensity by her trembling; her voice was actually quivering. "So, I'm looking for my fucking sister. She'll probably end up getting lost if she's by herself for too long."

"Ah," the fucking spooky thing nodded. "It is very easy to get lost in here! Sometimes things move around and even I get lost! Arthur's the only one who seems to be able to get around without getting lost all the time. And Franny, I guess, but he moves around in the walls so I don't think that counts." He was now grinning again and suddenly floated out of sight, possibly without even noticing that he was doing so.

Lovi didn't move for a moment. What the hell was going on?

Okay, so she was talking to a ghost. She could accept that, but what the actual fuck was he talking about?

Things moved around... Did he mean the furniture? Or was he talking about the actual house? That seemed to fit better with whatever else he'd been rambling on about, but what did that mean?

She slowly crawled out from underneath the table and brushed at her knees. If the house moved around, like the rooms and shit, then that could explain why she'd been feeling like she was wandering around in circles for the past who-knew-how-long. She was wondering how in the world she got so horribly lost when the house didn't look very big from the outside.

She scowled, annoyed. "Well, then how the fuck am I supposed to find my sister?"

The longer she spent talking to this spooky ghost-person, the longer Feli spent all by herself. She was probably totally freaked out. Knowing her, she probably wandered around for a while and was now curled up in some corner somewhere, crying and wondering where her big sister was...

All Lovi wanted to do right now was find her sister, then find Allison Jones and punch her in the face, because this was all her fault.

"I can help you, amiga!" Somehow the ghost managed to bounce excitedly while still floating, and also managed to beam despite the lack of facial features. "We can find her together!"

...Lovi was pretty sure she was losing the last vestiges of her sanity, because her first impulse was to accept the offer. Which was stupid, because she should definitely say no. Wandering the house with a ghost was obviously a terrible idea. But if he was right about this place, that it shifted around like fucking Hogwarts or something, then how was she supposed to find Feli without any help?

Feli could be anywhere, possibly hurt and almost definitely upset. And the ghost-creep at least seemed like he wasn't planning on eating her. Granted, that could just be an attempt to lull her into a false sense of security. But she was starting to get the idea that he wasn't smart enough to think of a plan like that.

"What's your name? Or should I just call you 'creepy ghost'?"

His smile widened. "My name's Antonio! What's yours?"

"Lovina."

"Can I call you, Lovi? I think that's such a cute name! We should go find Franny first! He might have seen your sister already!" The idiot didn't even wait for her response. He just suddenly vanished, leaving her standing in the middle of a now-empty room.

Yep, he was definitely an idiot. A fucking ghostly idiot.

A/N: Never change, Antonio. Never ever change.

So I have decided that for this new year, my resolution is to start writing every day again! Because I used to do that and I stopped mainly due to my brain deciding to fuck me over. (Yay brains.) And now that I'm at a more mentally stable place, I really want to get back into writing all the time.

Although I'm starting right now, so I'm not waiting til the New Year! Go me, go~

So hopefully that means chapters and updates will be faster. And maybe, if I work really hard, I can actually get published this year... That would be really amazing. But we'll see! Improvement is the main goal!
