Chapter 4

Parent Hood

Again Aramaic and Deer Slayer walked for days and days. When the got to the stream that they had been earlier captured at they stopped for a minute and laughed. And then kept walking for they wanted to get to the Shire as soon as possible. They just kept walking though. But every once and a while they would stop and hunt or stop and get water. If Rebel would have been there now he would of yell and told them to get food. (For he believed that wolfs should be a little plump.) But Deer Slayer and Aramaic where a little bit smaller than a normal wolf. But they did not mind. The new couple stop at certain place that was mentioned in The Hobbit. The place where the Dwarfs found the trolls. Aramaic was getting tired, so they stopped. A few minutes was not long enough of a break though. So they stayed a day. Deer Slayer went out to hunt and came back with a doe. Has he had thought Aramaic was going to have pups!

So some time later Aramaic had five pups: Avalanche, Marble, Birch, Martin, and Jay. Avalanche and boy, Marble a girl, Birch a girl, Martin and boy, and Jay a boy. Avalanche coat of fur looked like he had rocks and boulders tumbling down his back. But Marble, she was different. Her paws were a marble white, black and grey. Same as the tip of her tail and her muzzle. All the rest of her body was white. The other I will not need explain to explain for Birch's in self-explanatory. And the others I do not need to explain. The little family stayed at that place until the pups were old enough to leave. Some of the pups could not survive, only the three oldest could. But Birch was barely alive, so Aramaic was always with her. The pups died because: they needed a den to stay in and their mother could not be with them all the time. Aramaic cried for a few days, not wanting to speak to anyone but would still speak to her now smaller family. Deer Slayer convinced her that they need to get on the road to the Shire, so they buried Martin and Jay. So Deer Slayed carried Birch on him and they started again on their journey.

Deer Slayer had started to take the pups hunting with him expect for Birch he would leave her with Aramaic. Aramaic said they were still her little pups and that they could not go hunting yet. (But Deer Slayer did take them out a little early. But for the better.) Both of the parents thought that the pups were not ready to hunt on their own though.

At one place on a hill when they were heading toward the Shire, Avalanche howled and then rolled down the hill. Then Marble howled and rolled down the hill. Deer Slayer and Aramaic stop once this had happened and looked down the hill to see their children prepared to pounce on a rabbit.

"Oh Great!" Aramaic said about to run down,

"Wait, let them get it on their own." Deer slayed whispered,

"They are my babies!" Aramaic said with a little anger, but still whispering,

"Aramaic, they are soon going to be grown up wolves and you are still going to say they are your babies, even when they are mating." Deer Slayer replied in his soft knowing tone.

"I know, but…" Aramaic was irrupted by something at the bottom of the hill.

Marble and Avalanche had pounced on the rabbit!

"See I knew taking them hunting was a good idea!" Said Deer Slayer with pride in his pups,

"Wait until they try to get a buck when they are too small. Then I will say I told you so!" Aramaic said laughing.

Avalanche and Marble came running up the hill and left the rabbit at the bottom,

"Look Daddy! We got a rabbit!" Avalanche and Marble said in harmony,

"I see! Great job! Now carry it until our night stopping place!" Deer Slayer said with a smirk.

"*sigh* Okay Daddy" the Pups said in reply,

"Whose idea was this? I think it was yours. This was a terrible idea!" Avalanche said to Marble as the pups walk away to get the rabbit.

"Did you see their faces change when I said that?!" Deer Slayed said while laughing in his quiet way.

"Yes, that was very funny!" Aramaic responded.

The pups came up the hill with the rabbit and they walked on. They stopped at a stream to get a drink and the pups played in it for a break from carrying the rabbit. The sun blazed hot rays on them so Deer Slayer and Aramaic stepped in. They played for about an hour then they went again on their way.

Now going again they pasted by a fox walking opposite direction. The Fox stopped when they were walking past each other,

"Hello, those are some cute pups you have there." Said the apparently a girl.

"Thank you." Deer Slayed responded,

"I am sorry for my rudeness, my name is Autumn." Autumn replied,

"My name is Deer Slayer this is my wife and Avalanche and Marble my pups." Deer Slayer said in a more friendly tone,

"I thought Wolves had more than three puppies?" Autumn questioned,

"Yes they do but puppies have a hard time living!" Aramaic yelled and then burst out in tears.

"I am sorry, I did not mean any harm! Oh, I am so sorry!" Autumn said while tucking her tail under like a wolf would do.

"It is fine, it just hard to lose two pups." Deer Slayer said with complete calmness, but in side crying,

"It is fine Autumn, do not feel bad it is my fault I yelled at you." Aramaic said when she had stopped crying.

"Where are you going?" Deer Slayer questioned Autumn,

"I do not know, I am seeking a family. Where are y'all going?" Autumn said beaming with energy,

"The Shire." Deer Slayer replied,

"Why?"

"For our own reasons." She snapped

"Sorry." Aramaic said sorrowfully,

"Can I come with you?! Please!" Autumn asked while kicking in her big eyes.

"I suppose, that okay with you Aramaic?" Deer Slayer said

"Yes."

"Well let's get going! Shall I be Aramaic sister to the pups?" Autumn asked with energy,

"No, just aunt Autumn, or even just Autumn." Deer Slayed and Aramaic said

"Okay!" Autumn responded
