Slap
The sound had resonated in the mess hall.
"OWWW!" Sheppard whined. "Dammit, Rodney! What was that for!?" He massaged his left cheek, where the scientist had slapped him.
McKay was seething: "Oh and you dare ask why you deserved that!?" He let out a frustrated growl and turned around: "I'M OUTTA HERE!"
Sheppard was left there, his mouth hanging like a goldfish. "But-but… Rodneeyyyyy…" and the dark haired man ran towards the scientist to catch up to him.
Teyla and Ronon, who had been standing there, food tray in hands, were left alone.
"What was that?" the Satedan asked, perplexed. He knew McKay had weird mood swings, but that was surprising, even for him.
Other people present started gossiping.
With a frown marring her face, Teyla simply said: "It seems Rodney got wind of what happened during the mission."
"What? When? We were there too and I didn't see anything happen that could cause McKay to flip like that."
Teyla rolled her eyes: "That's because it happened when you and Rodney were separated from the colonel and I; that villager that was with us since the beginning, she flirted with John and he didn't stop her advances. She kissed him and he didn't tell her that he was already in a relationship."
"But if it happened when we were separated, how did McKay learn about that?" Ronon asked, not seeing the how.
With a small smirk, the Athosian woman admitted: "I don't know. I guess a little bird told him."
With a smirk of his own, the tall man guessed: "Teyla, you little… it was you, wasn't it?"
She shrugged and walked to a table: "I'm sorry, I really don't know what you're talking about. All I can say is that the colonel will probably remember that slap next time something like that comes up." She then smiled evilly and started eating.
