A/N: I know it's been a while since I've updated this story, and it probably would've made sense to update on Halloween, but I got busy with other things. Anyways, here's another chapter, with a little action, as promised.
Disclaimer: I don't own PnF or Ghostbusters.
Chapter 3
The next day, Isabella was walking home from a Fireside Girls meeting. She went up to her door and found it locked. She easily got inside using a key she kept on herself at all times. When she went inside she saw that her mom wasn't there, so she was alone. She noticed that the TV was left on and she said "That's funny, Mom always turns the TV off before going somewhere." She shrugged it off and was about to turn it off when a commercial popped up with Phineas and the gang on it. They were all wearing jumpsuits with a logo on them. "Are you hearing things that go bump in the night?" asked Phineas. "Are you seeing things that make you shudder with fright?" asked Baljeet. Buford turned to them and said "Oh, come on, do I have to say it?" "Yes." they all said in unison. Buford sighed and said "Is there somethin' strange in your neighborhood?" Then Ferb said "Who you gonna call?" "Ghostbusters!" they all said in unison. Then, their logo and phone number appeared on the screen as Phineas said "Ghostbusters! There for all of your paranormal elimination needs!" Then, they all appeared on the screen as they said in unison "We're ready to believe you!" Isabella smiled and turned off the TV. As she went over to the kitchen, she said to herself "Phineas has always had a way of getting people's attention." She sighed at the thought of Phineas and started humming Gitchee gitchee goo as she started making herself lunch. After a moment, she heard the TV turn back on. She turned her head in confusion as she picked up the remote and tried to turn it off, however, she only succeeded in changing the channel. Then, the rest of the lights started to flicker on and off rapidly. Pretty soon, every electronic device in the house was going haywire. Isabella started to freak out, but then she heard a noise coming from her room. She didn't know why, but she felt compelled to go toward her room. She entered her room and discovered that her closet doors were rattling and black fog was emerging from the crack at the bottom of the door. Slowly she reached for the handle, afraid of what might be making the loud moaning and growling sounds from behind the doors. She grabbed the handle, and pulled the doors open and stared in shock and fear at a large black cloud occupying the space where her closet had been. As the cloud stretched towards her, an arm slowly took form. She heard a raspy, bellowing voice from within the cloud call out "Isabella..." Isabella screamed and slammed the doors shut on the arm, causing it to dematerialize, and ran out of the room.
Back at the firehouse, Phineas and Ferb had finished restoring the building to its former glory, and were now working on the car. Ferb was underneath the car on a dolly when Phineas came over and asked "This car's a beater, Ferb. How long do you think it'll take to fix it?" Ferb rolled out from under the car and shrugged his shoulders. "Well, hopefully it'll be done quickly." Then, Phineas went over to the secretary's desk and talked to Gretchen, who'd volunteered to be the secretary. "So, how do you like the new job?" asked Phineas. "I'll tell you when we actually start getting calls." said Gretchen. Then, Phineas saw Irving over in a corner, working on what seemed to be tax reports. "Irving? What're you doing here?" Irving looked up and said "I've always wanted to be part of a Phineas and Ferb business, so I decided to jump right in and be your tax negotiator!" said Irving, with a somewhat-creepy smile on his face. Phineas just stared for a moment and said "Well, ok, I guess..." As Phineas went over to do something else, Isabella dashed into the firehouse. Gretchen looked up from her paperwork and said "Chief?" Isabella ran over to her and asked "Gretchen! Where's Phineas?!" Phineas poked his head out from underneath the car and said "Hold on, I'm coming!" As soon as he got over to her, Isabella grabbed his shoulders and said "It was horrible! There was this black cloud, and flickering lights, and...ARM!" "Whoa, whoa, Isabella, calm down!" said Phineas "Let's go upstairs and we'll see what we can do." As Phineas led Isabella up the stairs, he absent-mindedly put his arm around her shoulders. Normally, Isabella would've been ecstatic about Phineas doing this; but she was so freaked out, she didn't even notice.
"...And then, it formed this arm that reached for me, and I heard a voice say "Isabella..." I screamed and slammed the closet doors, causing the arm to disintegrate, and I haven't been inside the house since." said Isabella. She had just finished telling everybody about her experience; she had electrodes attached to her head, which led to a machine that Baljeet was monitoring. Baljeet spoke up and said "She is telling the truth. Or at least she believes she is." "Well, of course I'm telling the truth." said Isabella "Why would I make something like this up?" "You'd be surprised how many people make stuff up just for attention." said Phineas "How about I go with you back to your house and take a look?" Isabella was scared of going back to where she saw the ghost, but the idea of getting some alone time with Phineas was worth it. So she nodded her head and Phineas turned to Baljeet and said "Run Isabella's description through the ghost classification system, see if you can find a match." And with that, Phineas and Isabella left.
As Phineas opened the door to Isabella's house, he started scanning the room with the PKE meter. Isabella slowly followed, still scared. As Phineas was searching the living room, he said "Are you ok, Isabella?" "Huh?" said Isabella, slightly confused. "I mean, I know you've been through a horrifying experience and all, but I've never seen you this scared before." said Phineas. "Oh, sorry Phineas." said Isabella "It's just that...ever since my dad died, I've had this fear that he might come back and haunt me...I know, it sounds ridiculous." Phineas stopped scanning and turned to Isabella. "No, not at all." he said "It's completely normal to have a fear of the supernatural, especially after the death of a loved one." Then, Phineas moved toward the TV, and Isabella said "The TV turned on by itself, and shortly after, everything electronic started going haywire." "Well, that would explain why I'm getting readings from every direction." said Phineas. Then, Isabella led him to her room, where Phineas said "So, the black fog came from the closet?" "Yes." said Isabella. Phineas went over to the closet and said "Well, here goes nothing." and opened the doors a little ways and stuck his head inside. "Whoa..." said Phineas. Isabella's eyes widened as Phineas opened the doors all the way to reveal...her large, single-outfit wardrobe. "...Do you really wear the same thing every day?" asked Phineas. Isabella went over to her closet and said "No, no this wasn't here before!" "Well, given the past has any indication, I'd say this has been here for a while." said Phineas. "No, I mean there was a cloud, and an arm, and I heard a voice say "Isabella"!" Phineas went over to her and said "Don't worry, I believe that you saw something. But whatever you saw, it doesn't seem to be here now. How about you call me if anything else happens, and I'll keep looking into the problem and see what else I can do." Isabella smiled and said "You'd do that for me?" Phineas said "Well, what are friends for?" as he left the room. After he'd left the room, Isabella dropped her smile and muttered under her breath "Yeah...friends..."
Ok, not much action, but action nonetheless! Next chapter, I can guarantee a ghost-fighting scene.
