"Let me get something straight," Mika said and stared at the green eyed individual in front of him, currently seated quite comfortably on the bed. "You're Yuuichiro Hyakuga, the supposed son of some friends of my parents. And you're going to be staying over at my house, more specifically in my room."
"That's what I told her, well, except for the room part. She said we might as well get to know each other better since you don't have friends." Mika narrowed his eyes. "Your mother thinks you're being bullied at school and want me to help you out by befriending you."
"Why would she think that?" Mika mumbled as he shifted from leaning back on his desk to sitting in his computer chair.
"Let me recall what she said. It was something along the lines of not wanting to talk about school and not bringing home friends." Mika groaned. "I also told her we're in the same class. She was ecstatic when she heard. Let's be best friends!"
"Let's not," Mika grumbled and ignored the out stretched hand that was waiting for a handshake. Instead, he turned around so his back was towards Yuu. He pulled out his work from his backpack and organized them on his desk.
Yuu stepped off the bed and peered over Mika's shoulder curiously. "What are you doing?"
"My homework. You should too."
"I can have it done in a snap of a finger. I can help you too if..."
"No thank you and I don't even what to know what's coming after the if." Yuu clicked his tongue.
"Normally, humans would agree."
"I don't even know if I classify as human anymore with my soul being your possession."
"Hm. I'm going to talk to your mother, she's a great conversation partner." Mika stared blankly at the page in front of him as he heard the door open and close. He brought up his sleeve to wipe away the unshed tears. He tilted his head back while seated in his chair and took a few deep breathes.
He felt oddly tired when it's only 4 in the afternoon. A nap wouldn't hurt.

"Could you please let Mika know that dinner is ready?"
"How could I refuse?" Yuu already stood up from the stool when she was asking.
"Also Yuu-kun, you should spend more time with Mika than an old woman like me."
"But you make great company," Yuu grinned.
"The move was probably tough for Mika, leaving behind his old friends. I feel like I'm forgetting something but I feel like Mika was happier back then." Yuu sucked on his breath.
"My parents always talked highly of you and your husband. If the circumstances were right, Mika and I would have been friends even earlier on." Yuu felt the unfamiliar feeling of guilt building up as he continued to lie. Mika deserved better, but this is what he wished for.
"It's better late than never. My son can be stubborn sometimes but I'm sure he'll enjoy your company."
"I should uh, probably go fetch him." Yuu left before he dug an even deeper hole for himself. Not that he was a bad liar but he's starting to feel guilty for fabricating the lie. He wondered for a moment if Asuramaru had the same problem. Now that he thinks about, the demon would just tease him like no tomorrow if he found out. But he's thankful of his only friend, or at least he considered the other demon a friend.
He pushed the thought away when he opened the door to Mika's room. His eyes quickly adjusted to the darken room as the lights were turned off.
His suspicions were quickly confirmed by the mop of blond hair peeking out of the sheets. He turned on the lights and made his way over to the sleeping teen.
He almost didn't have the heart to wake up Mika because of how peaceful he looked. Out of all the times he's been watching the blond, it's only when he's sleeping where he looks like he's free from stress.
He sat down on the edge of the bed and brushed the locks of hair out of the other's face. When the blonde made a sound, Yuu realized he had been staring at Mika with his hand tangled in the blond's hair.
He shifted his position to stare at the sleeping teen and poked his nose. He chuckled when the blond wrinkled his nose and slowly opened his eyes, still dazed from sleep.
"Good morning, sleeping beauty," Yuu said and watched Mika blink his eyes, not entirely awake. "Or shall this handsome prince give the true love kiss to wake you from your slumber?"
Yuu was too caught up in his joke that he didn't notice Mika's hand pushing his face away.
"What are you doing in my room?" Mika asked while rubbing his eyes.
"Your mother told me to call you down for dinner," Yuu smiled and Mika glared back at him. Without another word, Mika slipped out of bed and walked past Yuu as if he wasn't there. The demon pouted before walking after Mika.

Dinner was anything but quiet. Mika didn't know how but Yuu had an entire backstory created for his fake human persona and kept bring up 'memories that he shared with Mika' even though they met just two days ago.
His parents seemed to be buying his tricks though. But again, it was because of the very demon that his parents are like this.
He hated the fakeness of the situation. But this is what he always wanted right?
"Mika, are you alright?" Mika looked up to see the concerned looks of his parents. He felt sick, he couldn't take it anymore.
"I'm just tired. I'm going to bed early," Mika quietly said. He walked away from the table and headed for his room.
He could hear them talking as he made his way upstairs. But he was too tired to care. He was too emotionally tired. Everything about his current predicament was wearing him down. He thought he could finally be happy. His family was like how it was. Eating breakfast with his father in the morning, coming home to his mother's baking, eating dinner while talking about their day.
It was supposed to make him happy. It wasn't supposed to make him feel like this.
Mika flopped onto his bed, not bothering to pull the covers over himself or the fact that his head is not on his pillow. He just wanted to sleep and never wake up. Why did the demon even come into his life and ruin everything?
Mika was too tired to tell whoever entered the room to leave, or swat away the hand that gently turned him over.
The last person he expected to see was Yuu but here he was. Mika turned his head away, avoiding eye contact. But he felt himself being pulled up and strong arms wrapped around his worn body.
Mika won't lie that he's surprised by the warmth of the demon. But he was too tired to dwell on that thought as a hand started to stroke through his hair. It was comforting and a bit nostalgic. But his parents never did that. Or not to his knowledge.
"It's okay to cry." Mika opened his eyes that he didn't know drifted close. He felt the overwhelming emotions coming back and his eyes stung with tears.
He slowly brought his hands up to cling to the shirt Yuu was wearing as he tried to hold back the tears that were on the verge of falling. But with no control over them as they began to fall and cursed his inability to suppress these ugly feelings.
Mika gripped the fabric harder as he buried his face deeper into the other's shoulder.
It pained Yuu when he heard the soft muffled sobs from the blond. His whole body was shaking from raw emotions.
In all 4 years of knowing the blond, this was the first time he seen Mika cry like this. The blond always let tears silently fall as he started into nothingness or muffled his sobbing in his pillow. Yuu knew how it felt like to hold in his emotions, how it felt to be alone in a situation he had no control over.
Yuu decided that Mika shall no longer be alone. He's going to be there for the blond whether he wants it or not. And he'll introduce the two friends he made in class today. He sensed a bit of malice from one of them but she was kind-hearted deep down.
The sobs soon died down and before he knew it, Mika was asleep in his arms. He smiled at the peaceful expression Mika had again. He brought his hand up to wipe away the tears stains.
Shifting their positions, Yuu gently placed Mika back in bed and covered him up.
"Good night Mika."
