A/N: This is my take on the final Calzona scene in 10x11. I haven't written in a long time so I am a little rusty.

I hope you guys like it. I am currently working on a multi too, so that should be fun.

Anyway... enjoy :).

Seattle's serene skyline sparkled through the window that looked into Callie and Arizona's living room, its calmness opposing the palpable tension that pervaded the small space.

"Did you want any more coffee?"

In and of itself the question was innocent, amicable even, but the exasperated nature of Callie's usually even tone hinted to a contrasting mood. Arizona stood nearby, halfheartedly organizing a small box of household items with unsteady hands as her mind wandered from the trivial task.

"Uh.. no. I'm good... thanks though."

"You sure? I think there's still half a pot..."

"I'm sure."

"Suit yourself."

Up until now she'd chosen to ignore the fact that Callie had been on edge for what seemed like forever, mostly because Arizona tended to prefer even a false sense of peace over an argument with the woman that she loved.

And until now, Arizona had not brought up what she'd really been feeling. But for someone who often sought to be the one in control of her surroundings, it was only a matter of time.

"Hey... Callie?"

"Hmm?"

"Can I ask you something?"

The worn soles of Callie's black leather boots remained planted on the kitchen's hardwood flooring as her eyes diverted over to where Arizona was standing, a mix of confusion and concern etching fine lines across her forehead.

"Sure."

"Well it's not really a question." Arizona briefly reconsidered how she should phrase her thoughts before continuing, "it's just that, things have been weird with us, ya know, and I'm trying... I really am Callie but-"

"...but, you don't think that I am?"

"No. No, I do... but I can't get past this... funk I guess you could say, or the way we've been at each other's throats recently."

A bitter laugh echoed in the room, "a funk, huh?" Callie bit at the inside of her cheek as she mulled over the odd word choice, "yeah, Arizona, 'funks' tend to happen when someone steps out of their relationship and then thinks it's a good idea to fuck around with a mutual co-worker."

Arizona awkwardly cleared her throat. She refused to let the conversation waiver from her initial intentions, "Callie, I asked you to cheer up earlier... two little words and it was like I'd insulted you, like me even being in close proximity was off-putting to you."

Callie tilted her head to the side very slightly. "No, it was more like you chose not to acknowledge that I was struggling to cope with... with everything. All of this." Her voice cracked, "do you actually expect me to be all smiles? My research is tanking. The one thing that takes my mind off of the fact that my wife is a cheater and my marriage is in shambles has stalled. Would you want someone telling you to just 'cheer up' if you were in my shoes, Arizona?"

"No... I wasn't say-"

"No, exactly. Then you can't expect me to. That's not fair."

"You know what? Fine. I'm not doing this with you again."

"Doing what? Talking about our lives, about how I feel?

"This isn't talking, Calliope. This is you berating me for something that I can't even change or take back." Arizona tensed her jaw and gestured between the two of them. "This is you ignoring that fact that I am here, ready and willing. You are clearly the one that doesn't want to improve this relationship."

"What? That is not what I said... at all!" Callie moved over to the bar top and placed two empty mugs down a little less gently than she normally would have before walking towards Arizona in preparation for yet another argument.

"Well it's not what you said it's how you said it. That... that tone that you get..."

"Oh, so now we are going to fight about how we fight?" Callie's voice began to rise, the erratic movement of her hands further demonstrating her decaying patience, "I... I am sick of this. I mean every time we talk it turns into this... this-"

"Okay, I'm sorry. Do you think that I am not sick of it, Callie? Cuz' everything I say seems to piss you off. Like... like everything loathes you. I... I don't know-"

An interjection rarely stopped the brunette from getting her point across, but something about Arizona's demeanor struck her. Rich, brown eyes took in the beauty before them and Callie began to notice the slight sag in Arizona's features, further evidence of the fact that she was just as exhausted, just as fed up with the incessant contention.

Arizona witnessed Callie's countenance soften, and for a brief second thought that she saw her wife's gaze hesitantly flick down to her lips. The mood in the room changed when Callie unexpectedly gripped Arizona's hips with strong hands before pulling her in and capturing her mouth with her own, causing sharp words to taper off. The smooth palm of Callie's right hand cradled Arizona's cheek and each woman relaxed into the embrace as built up tension drained from their weary bodies.

The kiss seemed to last for only a brief second before Callie pulled away. She looked as if she wanted to speak, and there was a small hitch in her voice as she attempted to articulate her racing thoughts.

"I-I think talking may be the problem."

There was so much more going through the orthopedic surgeon's mind, so much more she could have said in that moment, but she knew that tonight wasn't the time for deep conversation. Tonight she wanted to reconnect with her wife on a different level, one that would allow her to express her true feelings without fear of her word choice getting in the way.

"Maybe we shouldn't... talk as much," Arizona spoke slowly, allowing her clouded mind to finally catch up as it recovered from the initial shock.

A small smile appeared at the corners of Callie's mouth, and she shrugged slightly before re-initiating the kiss. Within a matter of seconds the soft, tentative pecks deepened and the pair allowed their tongues to ghost over one another in a familiar, effortless rhythm as if the last few months hadn't broken their stride.

Arizona's body began to respond, and she backed up a fraction of an inch.

"Calliope..." her voice was little more than a whisper.

"Bedroom?"

A small nod from the blonde indicated that they were both on the same page, and Callie gently took Arizona's hand into her own, leading them down their dimly lit hallway and into the bedroom.

As soon as the door clicked closed, they were back in each other's arms. Arizona was the first to remove any clothing and brown eyes widened in admiration as her dark purple top was lifted from her body, revealing well toned abs. Her pale skin was almost glowing as moonlight from the nearby window bounced off of it and Callie did little to stop herself from staring.

"Your turn..."

Her wife's voice pushed Callie from her stupor and she rid herself of her own shoes and shirt, uncovering more of the perfectly tanned skin that Arizona had always found to be intoxicating as well as a plain black bra which was also removed and tossed in an unknown direction. She let her hands fall to her belt and began to slide it from the loops of form fitting jeans.

"Let me."

Callie felt Arizona approaching and met her gaze. She was more than willing to allow her wife to take over. When her jeans and underwear were pooled at her feet, she carefully stepped out of them, finding herself standing naked under Arizona's watchful gaze.

A sculpted eyebrow lifted, "why am I the only one without clothes on?" she smiled slyly.

"Because I like it this way," there was a hint of playfulness in Arizona's tone, "lay down."

Arizona had never been remotely shy about taking control in any situation, yet following the crash, Callie had primarily taken the reigns in the bedroom. Once Callie was situated under the covers, Arizona sat at the foot of the bed and removed the rest of her clothing as well as her prosthetic. As she turned and began moving up the bed, Callie was somewhat surprised to see that the look on Arizona's face was one of pure confidence.

Callie inhaled deeply as the covers were pulled back and her wife's soft skin came in contact with her own. Arizona settled beside Callie and lovingly grazed the back of her hand across the brunette's cheek. She followed up with a soft yet commanding kiss, one that quickly rekindled the flame that they'd ignited in the living room. Callie allowed her thighs to spread, and Arizona carefully maneuvered herself until she was between them, resting the majority of her weight on her good leg while using her hands, which were planted on either side of Callie's head, to prop herself up.

They stayed like that for a minute or so, simply looking at one another.

"What?" a fit of nervous laughter escaped full lips.

"...you are beautiful, Calliope... stunning."

"You too..." Callie smiled. Without make-up, Arizona's beauty was magnified. She was the most alluring woman Callie had ever encountered and the newly formed lines at the corners of dazzling blue eyes did not detract from that.

"I'm sorry, Calliope... for everything. You know that."

Callie shook her head and touched the tip of her finger to her wife's lips.

"Shhh. I do. But not tonight, okay?"

"Okay."

"Just make love to me."

Arizona nodded before leaning down and kissing her way across the expanse just below her wife's jawline. The smaller woman's weight shifted to her right elbow to allow for her free hand to explore every accessible inch of Callie's skin. Arizona's touch casually grazed over Callie's center, and she smirked to herself as her wife's breathing hitched.

"Please..." Callie whimpered.

Pleading words had little time to resonate before Arizona skillfully parted Callie's folds and pressed two fingers into the wet heat, smiling to herself as she indulged in the fact that Callie was already ready for her. She pushed in a little further, groaning in satisfaction as Callie's tight walls accommodated her entrance and manicured nails dug into her shoulder blades.

Slender fingers pulled out slowly before pushing back in again, each time going a little further and adding a little more force until Arizona established a comfortable, steady rhythm. Callie whimpered as she felt herself stretch around her wife, and the sound mixed with Arizona's muffled grunts and the slapping noise of their hips repeatedly coming together. Callie was so wrapped up in being filled perfectly that she didn't notice when Arizona lifted her sweat glistened face from the crook of her neck and began to move down her writhing body.

It wasn't until Arizona placed a soft, open-mouthed kiss on Callie's center that she realized what was happening. Gasps left her lips as she tangled her fingers in soft locks and wordlessly urged her wife to continue by lifting her hips from the mattress and applying pressure to the back of the blonde's head.

Arizona's fingers continued to work as she swiped her tongue across Callie's glistening center, humming in satisfaction at the familiar taste. She flattened it and slowly built up her speed as Callie lost control above her. It only took a few, well-placed flicks against her wife's swollen clit before brown eyes rolled back and she came loudly. Callie gripped at the sheets with her free hand, and turned her head to the side in an attempt to quiet her moans against one of their pillows.

Arizona waited until Callie's breath evened out a bit before pulling out of her depths. She took her time cleaning up the mess that she'd created, and wrapped her arms around thick, toned thighs as she did so. When she was satisfied with her efforts, Arizona kissed her way back up Callie's body right as an aftershock caused her to jerk involuntarily.

The blonde pulled Callie into her embrace and the women lay there in comfortable silence, their bodies tangled with one another. A couple of minutes passed before Callie finally spoke.

"That was..." she couldn't quite think of a word that could fully explain what she was feeling.

"Unbelievable."

"Yeah..."

Arizona placed a small peck on Callie's shoulder "I love you, Calliope."

"I love you too." Callie glanced over at her wife and could tell that Arizona was still in need of her own relief, "give me a few minutes to catch my breath," she chuckled, "you stole it."

Arizona laughed before attempting to pull Callie impossibly closer.

She knew that they wouldn't be able to avoid the inevitable. There would be more arguments, more hurtful words thrown about carelessly and more times when it seemed as if all was lost. Tomorrow would leave plenty of time for discussion, but tonight they were choosing to forget the pain along with the bad decisions of the past. Tonight wouldn't erase any of her mistakes. It would simply allow them to take a brief moment to convey their feelings without fear of words getting in the way, and she was okay with that.
