"Go!' Iruka yelled and 24 kunai flew across the field and most hit their targets only two missed. It had been three months since they started the weapons practice and almost all the students had become pretty decent at throwing the blades except for two. One was a random civilians child who wanted to be a shinobi not understanding what it took. A certain Rock Lee was still having trouble and not only in kunai throwing but ninjutsu and genjutsu. He just couldn't perform it the other day they found out why and it nearly crushed poor Lee.

-Flashback-

"So do you know why Lee can't use ninjutsu or genjutsu?" Kakashi asked the doctor who was analyzing Lee.

"Yes." The woman replied

'That's good care to tell us." He said a little annoyed that he had to ask for the answer.

"The boy has almost no chakra his chakra system is damaged from something." She said bluntly. "It's odd because the place where his system is damaged should leave him paralyzed he's lucky to even be moving right now." The answer caused Lee's whole world to come crashing down. Naruko who was there at the time could sense his defeat and got angry.

"Why are you giving up!" She demanded. The older boy looked surprised as the young girl had seemingly read his mind.

"I can't do two of thing required to be a ninja Naruko. I'd be the world's worst ninja!" He said through his tears.

"Not true you don't need genjutsu or ninjutsu to be a ninja!"

"How would you know!?" He screamed angrily.

"Uncle Maito Gai!" She screams and he stares at her in confusion so Kakashi expands on the subject

"Maito Gai is a jonin he can't do genjutsu or ninjutsu but he is a beast at taijutsu." Kakashi shudders.

"Yeah you could be like him and become a master of tie jutsu baka! Don't let me hear you ever say your gonna give up again!" She said butchering the pronunciation of taijutsu.

-Present-

"You gotta visualize the path you want the kunai to take," Naruko spoke up from her corner in an attempt to help Lee and the other boy.

"Hai good idea future Hokage-sama!" Lee answered enthusiastically. The other boy's response was completely opposite to Lee's enthusiastic reply.

"What does a little brat like you know! Your just a little freak who isn't ever even gonna be a ninja much less Hokage!" The boy stuck his tongue out. Kakashi and Iruka were about to jump down the boy's throat when Naruko held her hand up.

She walked forward and grabbed a kunai from the pile of extras. She closed her eyes slowly took a deep breath widened her stance and with a quick flick of her wrist her eyes flew open and the kunai hit the target. It wasn't dead center like most of the students but none the less it hit the target.

"N-no no way. Your just a little brat!" Naruko ignored the insult and picked up another kunai and handed it to Lee. Lee took the kunai gratefully and did the same thing Naruko had done. The Kunai hit just outside of the center ring.

"That was most amazing Naruko! Your advice was great. I imagined that path it would take and where it would hit and it worked. You are the best!" Lee cheered while hugging Naruko who was having trouble breathing.

Iruka had been invited over to Kaksashi's house for dinner later that day. Iruka sat on the floor playing a game of shogi with Naruko. It was not clear who was winning but both were so into it neither noticed Kakashi begin to scurry about the kitchen.

Kakashi pulled on an apron which Iruka himself had given him as a joke it was a very frilly and girly thing but it did its job. He began to pull out ingredients to make stew. He quickly got the mixture going over the stove and then turned around to observe his guest and daughter.

He leaned on the counter and sighed as he reached his hands up to his mask and quickly untied the seemingly permanent accessory from his face.

Still, neither person noticed too into their shogi game to worry about the going on's in the kitchen. Kakashi quickly finished the stew up and called the man and girl for dinner. Iruka let out a gasp at seeing Kakashi's face without the mask.

Kakashi embarrassed turned his head down and went to reach for his mask. A hand reached out for his and he froze in an odd bout of fear.

"Sorry I-I was just surprised," Iruka said softly. Kakashi blushed not knowing what to do. Naruko just watched the interaction with confusion. "You shouldn't be ashamed of it," Iruka spoke again his eyes fixating on the scar that took up the entire right side of Kakashi's mouth. The skin had been obviously torn from the flesh and left a hole where his teeth could be seen. (I am absolutely terrible at explaining this so look up Lo'lo of the Fanalis Corps, that's what Kakashi's mouth looks like). Iruka reached up to touch it.

"What's wrong is Iruka-san scared of Kaka-sama's face?" Naruko asked after seeing Iruka reaching up for the scar. "It's not nice to stare!" She scolded Iruka who shook his head throwing himself out of his daze. He retracted his hand as quickly as it had seemed to appear.

"No. No Naruko-chan I was not scared. I was startled but I am not scared. It just no one has ever seen what underneath his mask." Naruko looked questioningly at Iruka as his answer only gave her more questions.

"But I see Kaka-sama's face all the time?" Iruka smiled at her childish innocence that was still present even after all she had been through.

"You see me all the time because you're my daughter but no-one else has ever seen this. I don't like it at all." Kakashi answers the young child.

"Oh." She says and sits with her bowl of stew and begins to eat, well more like pour the entire bowl down her throat in one go.

"Why don't you let people see it?" Iruka asked after Naruko had finished her fourth bowl and was at the pot for a fifth. Kakashi jumped a little at the interruption to the silence that had settled over the dinner table.

"It is humiliating."

"Why, I have my scar on my nose, Ibiki has his scars there's nothing to be ashamed of." Kakashi looked down.

"It's not a battle scar, it's not something to be proud of. I got my mother killed when I got this." He did not elaborate despite Iruka's inquisitive gaze. Naruko oblivious to the exchange sat down and downed her fifth bowl and returned for two more before finally falling asleep right in her chair. Iruka decided not to push anymore after that. Thanking Kakashi for the meal and heading towards the door as it was now late in the evening he gave one last comment.

"I think you are pulchritudinous as well as on the inside." He left leaving a confused Kakashi.
