So I wasn't planning on posting a new chapter for this for a plethora of reasons but I had to finish it and upload it for november 2 1990's (aka: Allison) birthday! Happy Belated Birthday! So sorry that it's two days late! I've been busy with finals! But hope this helps! Lots of fluff for sure! Love you all tho! -xoxo Tak
Jo felt terrible pains in her sides. Her nausea had grown worse, keeping her up all night. She tried not to bother Kendall while she attempted to fall back to sleep, but the pain was becoming extremely unbearable. She felt her stomach twist and shake as if it were a buoy in the ocean.
She could feel everything slowly making it's way back up her throat and waiting to be forced out. She jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom sink. She splashed cold water on her face, hoping it'd clear some of the heat she was in. Before she knew it though, she was puking the entire contents of her stomach. Tears welled up in her eyes as she continued to throw up. She had a terrible phobia of throwing up and this was making her feel even worse.
"Joey, are you okay?" Kendall called out to her. When he got no response, he rushed over to his girlfriend's aid. He held her as she let everything out. When she was done, he held her in his arms, letting her get the last of her tears out.
"I'm sorry Kendall. I don't know what's wrong with me." She said with a sob.
"Shh! It's okay, you don't need to apologize at all." He comforted her. "We'll take you to the doctor in the morning, but for now, let's get you cleaned up and back to sleep, okay?"
She nodded slowly, feeling weak. She was so glad Kendall was by her side, helping her otherwise she'd be an even bigger mess. He helped her up and cleaned her face and shirt. He even changed her clothes for her and then went to the kitchen to get her some lemon water.
"Drink up, it'll help, I swear." He put the glass to her lips and made sure she drank at least a little bit.
"If it doesn't work, I'm going to sue for malpractice and false advertising." Jo joked weakly. She managed a small chuckle too, making Kendall's smile wide.
"Would I ever let you down?" He asked rhetorically. She smiled and moved closer to him. He embraced her.
"I can't sleep Kendall." Jo whispered.
"Why not Joey?" He asked.
She shrugged her shoulders. "Maybe if you sang to me, I'd sleep."
"Well then, the Serenade House of Knight is open and will now be taking suggestions, do you have a preference miss?" He asked playfully, cracking a smile on her face.
"Anything, as long as you sing it for me and only me." She whispered.
He kissed her on her forehead and began singing "Goodnight My Angel," by Billy Joel. He knew she'd be happy with whatever, but in that moment that song felt perfect.
"Goodnight, my angel
Time to close your eyes
And save these questions for another day
I think I know what you've been asking me
I think you know what I've been trying to say
I promised I would never leave you
And you should always know
Wherever you may go
No matter where you are
I never will be far away."
"Thank you Kendall." She whispered to Kendall as she closed her eyes. "I love you."
"I love you too Josephine." He said to her. He kissed her on the lips before continuing the song.
"Goodnight, my angel
Now it's time to sleep
And still so many things I want to say
Remember all the songs you sang for me
When we went sailing on an emerald bay
And like a boat out on the ocean
I'm rocking you to sleep
The water's dark
And deep inside this ancient heart
You'll always be a part of me
Goodnight, my angel
Now it's time to dream
And dream how wonderful your life will be
Someday your child may cry
And if you sing this lullaby
Then in your heart
There will always be a part of me
Someday we'll all be gone
But lullabies go on and on...
They never die
That's how you
And I
Will be"
By the end of the song, Jo had fallen asleep. Kendall stared at his beautiful girlfriend while continuing to hum the tune of the song. He couldn't believe how lucky he was for her to forgive him the way she did. He truly loved her, but never knew that her love for him was stronger. He couldn't keep living with her without making sure it was going to be permanent.
He knew he wanted to marry her and that she wanted to marry him, but proposing to her always seemed to scare him. He didn't want to propose to her in a sub par way, but he also didn't want it to be too flashy, neither of those things were Jo. He wanted something intimate but spectacular and most definitely romantic. He also wanted it to be subtle enough for her to be unsuspecting but special enough for it to be meaningful.
As she lay in his arms, he began brainstorming a few ways. None of them seemed to be good enough, at least not for her. He decided since Logan was back, he'd enlist his three best buds to give him a few ideas. For now, he was going to make sure Jo stayed asleep.
He was worried about her. Her health had never taken such a quick downhill spiral. But the past few days have all been the same: Kendall and Jo come home from whatever thing they had that day and right before the night is over, Jo falls ill. At first it was just a small headache or stomach cramp, which Kendall assumed was from "girl stuff," but now that the week was up, it seemed odd.
He had hoped they'd be able to get back to their usual routine of sex once or twice a week, even some days, but it had been a whole week without it, and it was kind of making him extremely frustrated. But he wasn't going to complain. He didn't want to make Jo feel like she was only good for sex. He just hoped when she felt better and they did get back to having intimate moments, it'd be worth it all.
Kendall kissed Jo on the forehead one last time before going to sleep himself, hopefully the morning would be better for them both.
