Eden slowly started drinking himself into a pittless abyss, slowly turning himself into his mentor Haymitch Abernathy but Eden did not drink for the same reason as Haymitch; Eden drank because it was the only thing he could do without the feeling of guilt or dread creeping up. It kept his mind dazed and he forgot everything for some time, well except one thing he never forgot her.

When the news of her engagement reached his ears he smashed everything in his reach in a fit of rage, the anger he felt for the excuse of a boy who stole her from him. Rue is his, not Rory Hawthorne's.
After Drinking almost every single drop of alcohol in his victors house Eden decides he might as well get some more so he can drink himself further down the dark pittless abyss so he goes to the hob and but a month's worth of liquor from ripper paying her extra on purpose. He passes Katniss who glares at Eden as she sells her game to the baker.
When walking home Eden spots Rue at tree where she beat him up over two years ago. Eden walks towards rue a smile on his face at seeing his one true love. At seeing the boy rue glares "leave or I will gut you with my pocket knife." Ignoring her threat he walks until he is in front of rue a smile playing at his lips. "I've missed you my little bird." He said leaning down and pushing lips against her. Rue feels taken by surprise for a second before rational sense kicks in and rue pushes him away slapping him hard "How Dare You!" she says push Eden away from her.
"You know you liked it love." he says walking to her again as if to kiss her. Rues leg comes up and connects with his groin sending him to his knees in pain. "I hope Tartarus swallows you whole because that's where you belong boy, good and dead in a place know as hell, places where the titans can torture you." rue says as she punches him in the face "Now leave me alone, or I swear I'll kill you the worse than you can imagine."
Rue walks away "CANT YOU FORGIVE ME GOD DAMNIT?" he yelled at her retreating figure. Rue stops turning around tears rolling down her cheeks "YOU WANT ME TO FORGIVE YOU. ARE YOU INSANE; I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE YOU KILLED MY BEST FRIEND; YOU KILLED HER AND HER CHANCE AT A HAPPY LIFE? I WISH YOU DIED IN THAT AREANA YOU, MUTT." Rue yells before running off in the direction of Rory's home.

The words that left rues mouth four years ago played in his head every day until he couldn't live anymore, Eden Jackabee at the age of 18 years old is found dead in his home hanging by a peace rope from his ceiling fan, by Effie trinket searching for the boy for the preparations for the games.
No one attended his funeral.
