I'm sorry it took me a while to get this to you all, I really am. I hope you enjoy to read this.
"It really is beautiful here Caspian." Lucy sighed happily. She was so grateful to Aslan for the second chance.
"What is it, Lu?" He asked gently. She gave him a look of sadness. "Are you okay, Lucy?"
"I feel bad; my siblings. They're going to find out through a letter." She explained and Caspian nodded understanding. "When are you heading out to sea?"
"Soon; in about three days." He said regrettably.
OOO
"Susan! Peter!" Edmund called and ran into the hall where his siblings were. "It's a letter, from Lucy!"
Susan reached out for the letter; she read it over first as there were usually bits that were for her only. When Susan's face fell Peter took the letter and read aloud.
Dearest Peter, Susan, and Edmund,
It's been so long since I saw you all last, and am looking forward to seeing you. However, I do believe this will be proven difficult. As Aslan has offered me a choice: to go back to Narnia or to live in England. Of course I haven't chosen yet, but once I have Eustace will send a telegram – or I will it depends on the answer.
If I shouldn't stay then I don't want you to be sad, you know me; I'm happy should that not be enough? Susan Narnia is real I know this, I really do Aslan wouldn't come to England otherwise. This isn't one of my 'silly dreams' you often called them. I know in my heart that it is real... I love you Sue but please don't judge me on my choice. I know that we will see each other again. In Aslan's country. I know we will; I know because I believe.
Eustace says that he misses you Edmund, and that he would love to see you again. I hope you return the sentiment.
I love you all, but I am going to do what is right for me. Hopefully you won't judge me on them.
Your dearest Sister,
Lucy
Susan had left the room by this point and Edmund was starring dumbly at the floor, Peter was mute and was staring at the letter he had just read out. "Ed... what do you think she chose?" He finally asked and Edmund shot him a glare.
"What would you have chosen?!" He snapped and broke down he left the room not wanting to show emotion. Peter let the letter fall and collapsed into the chair that was behind him. He put his head in his hands and silently cried alone in the hall.
"Peter, she's gone isn't she?" Susan asked as she re-entered the room after she'd composed herself. He nodded mutely. They didn't need confirmation they all knew their sister's choice. "What are we going to do without her?" Susan added desperately.
"She asked us not to be upset," Edmund said sitting on the floor next to them.
"That's easy for her to say, Ed! She isn't the one who has to tell Mum, and Dad." Susan said with fresh tears falling once more.
"Rise Kings and Queen of Narnia." They heard to the side of them; they were instantly on their feet as Aslan appeared in front of them.
"Aslan!" They all exclaimed happily.
"Hello, children." He said. "I'm sorry to say Lucy chose Narnia. But you will see her again, in the after-life, you will be together once more."
"Thank you Aslan." Susan said with a smile, "you didn't have to come and tell us; you could've let Eustace just telegraph us – but you didn't." She added feeling like she had to explain herself.
"No, that wouldn't have been right."
"What do we tell our parents?" Peter asked the question the others hadn't wanted to face.
"That she's safe." Aslan said simply. "You cannot say much more than that."
"But Aslan, our parents will question where she is. She is essentially dead to us. We will never see her in this world again," Susan said and tried to stay together.
"That is true, but she is safe. I will see to that." Aslan sighed. "You cannot tell them the truth."
"Then we will have to lie to them." Edmund said sadly. "As much as I hate it I know it's true." All three siblings looked to one another then back to where Aslan was only to see him gone.
All three sighed and began to think of what they would tell their mum and dad.
OOO
Caspian and Lucy hadn't done much they were merely talking over how they were going to announce Lucy's arrival. "Nothing fancy, Caspian please."
"Well whatever we do; it will when I return because there is no time to plan something." He sighed. Lucy looked at him.
"I wish you didn't have to go." She sighed, Caspian looked regrettably at her.
"I wish I didn't too, but I have too."
"Can't I go with you? I can handle myself pretty well, as you know Caspian." Lucy asked and Caspian looked to her and rested his chin on his hands.
"I wish you could... but Narnia needs their Queen." Caspian said and he rested Lucy's crown atop her head which had been hiding behind his back.
"Oh Caspian, where did you find it?!" She asked and he gave her an amused smile.
"When we were cleaning out the ruins of the castle, we found it. I was waiting for the right moment to give it to you. But one never arose, until now." He said, and she smiled at him.
"Thank you Caspian, it's wonderful to have it back. I – we all thought we had lost everything from the golden age. If this is all that is left then I am happy to have this."
"Then I'm glad we found it." Caspian said and kissed her forehead. "I need to get ready, I leave in an hour."
"Narnia may need their Queen but what about their King? He is much better than me, can't I come, please Caspian. Can't you leave Chamberlin in charge like you did last time?" She asked in a pleading voice, "I want to rediscover Narnia again it's been three years Caspian. And they were very long years. Please let me go."
Caspian looked at Lucy and knew her mind was set. "You're not going to take no for an answer, are you Lucy?"
"No, I'm not. Does that mean I can go!" She asked excitedly.
"Yes, you can go. But I cannot promise it will go smoothly. And I'll give you some of Edmunds old clothes, it's better than wearing a dress."
"I completely agree with you, Caspian." Lucy said with a massive smile on her face. She leaned up and kissed him. "Thank you so much Caspian."
OOO
Lucy had actually been able to keep her arrival secret from the kingdom, but she felt bad about it. "Caspian, do you think we should've told them?"
"No, Lucy. I think it's best to leave it until we get home." Lucy smiled and agreed.
"Are you sure you don't mind me having your chamber, it's yours Caspian..." She said standing, "I don't mind."
"No, have it. I would much rather be with my men." He said and kissed her temple softly.
"Okay, let's go greet them, they don't know I'm here... how did we manage it?!" She laughed and took a deep breath. "Ready?"
"Ready." He said and took her hand. "Let's go."
When they exited the chamber all eyes fell on them, Drinian – the only one to know that Lucy was here – exclaimed. "All hale King Caspian and High Queen Lucy!"
I hope you liked this, as always please tell me what you think.
