Thanks for the review Originaljuan92, I'll keep things going here for a bit since this sort of stuff is easy to jolt down. Anyway this happens like 2 weeks before he leaves Inaba.
The next one will be interesting.
IV:
Naoto sighed happily as she was currently being spooned by her boyfriend. His arms wrapped around her as their nakedness emphasised the body heat they shared. It was a feeling she's grown attached too after the frantic fun they have. For her this is the perfect way to wind down after it and something she appreciate Souji doing.
"I like this..." She hummed as her hands clasped tightly over his arms. She wasn't tired, but being able to relax after letting go of so much tension was satisfying.
Souji tightened his arms around her.
"I'm glad you do. You have a thing for being the little spoon."
She laughed.
"The joke is on you, you have no idea how good it is being the little spoon." She looked up and playfully stuck out her tongue at him.
Silence once again consumed the two of them as the only thing they listened too was the breathing of their significant other.
"I was thinking..." A small grunt came from behind her signalling for her to carry on.
"I was wondering if I can come and see you when you head back to Tokyo, I'm hoping you wouldn't be too busy?"
Souji gave her a gentle squeeze then ducked down to kiss her on the neck. Naoto shivered.
"Sure, I'll never turn that down. Just let know in advance so I don't have to drag you through some boring chores for the day or something."
The sleuth laughed heartedly, the thought of him doing chores is rather normal considering his lifestyle. Sure he did a lot of things for the sake of their investigation but it seemed that instead of doing these things out of need, it's rather instinctual now.
"Like every other day?" She could feel him shrug against her back.
"Basically."
"I'm not looking forward to moving." Souji said after a moment. The tone wasn't the playful one he was using a minute ago, but one fuelled with frustration and doubt.
"Senpai?"
"I don't want to move, it's just another typical chapter in my life where once it seemed we are all settled then it's the time to find somewhere else that's new and start over again..."
Naoto frowned, annoyed that there wasn't anything to make him feel better. She'd been avoiding trying to think about their parting coming up. She wanted to just relish in the fact they had each other and believe that they had all the time in the world. Even for a logical woman like herself, she knew that it was a fallacy and all she was doing is hiding the fact that they only had limited time together in their current arrangement. Sure long distance is fine, but it didn't make her feel any better.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to turn this conversation negative..." Naoto shuffled and turned around in his arms and looked up to him, making eye contact.
"No Senpai, speak your mind. You always help me with my grievances; there is nothing wrong with expressing yours." She took his cheek in her hand and stroked soothingly.
"Thanks Naoto." She shook her head.
"No need. I'm here for you like you are for me. Do you understand that?"
Souji slowly nodded.
"Good." She leaned up and gave him a small quick kiss.
"Now go on Senpai, speak your mind."
He took a deep breath.
"I'm just annoyed that even after finding my place in life and having something I can call normal I have to get up and leave it again. Don't get me wrong I appreciate everything else everyone has done for me, I just wish I can savour this forever. I don't want to leave you Naoto, I don't want to leave everyone here, and I don't want to start all over again."
Naoto snuggled against him.
"You will not lose us I promise. We will be here for you as long as you believe in us. And I will love you as long as you love me. I know it's only words but I hope it's something that can make this parting a little less painful."
Souji smiled warmly and whispered a thank you in gratitude.
"We will always have each other..." Naoto said brightly.
