"What?!" I exclaimed, eyes wide with my disbelief. "Why did you leave her in the TARDIS?!"
"She was sleeping, and the TARDIS was restless! I figured that one small adventure wouldn't be such a bad thing!" He tried his best to defend himself. It failed miserably.
"Do you mean to tell us that you left your wife on the TARDIS, that you just lost, to go on an adventure?" My voice was rising in pitch and I was on the verge of yelling at him. "How could you be so stupid?! You know River Song! She's your wife for Pete's sake! Going on adventures is all she does! She loves it almost as much as she loves you! When we get you back to her she is going to throttle you! Don't you remember what happens when you have an adventure without her?! The Fez, Doctor! The Fez!"
Chelsa at this point knew I was about to go into some sort of fandom-induced berserker rage and so stepped forward and grabbed my arm. "Bring it down a notch, Karmin. You know how he is."
The Doctor looked offended. "And what is that supposed to mean?"
Chelsa looked at him and just shook her head. "You would never understand. Besides, the main issue right now is going to be finding the TARDIS."
He stood up, looking at us oddly. "Both of you seem to be taking this whole situation surprisingly well. I mean, a character from this tv show of yours just showed up and the only reaction you had before acceptance was being possibly more than giddy?" His hands were on his hips, and he was leaning forward slightly, inspecting us.
This made me laugh - actually laugh. I snorted, only making me laugh harder. My hand gripped the table and the other was against my mouth in a failing attempt to stifle the flow of laughter. Minutes passed before the shaking of my shoulders began to dwindle. Soon it had stopped all together and I was left with only a goofy grin on my face, along with a very clear look of restraint. Another minute went by before I could actually speak without risking another outburst of laughter.
"Doctor. Whovians - that is fans of your show - are always prepared to meet you. We would leave with you in a heartbeat, and we know all the possibilities. Our first reaction will obviously be happiness, as your the Doctor! But then we go into acceptance mode as well as prepare-for-an-adventure mode." Somehow I said this really calmly, though the way I said it made it seem like I was trying to explain the situation to a child. The Doctor was obviously still suspicious of us, but he was probably thinking something along the lines of 'I'll just get in the TARDIS and go. This species can be dealt with later.'.
He shook his head in fake astonishment. "Well, alright then. Let's just go find the TARDIS."
Both me and Chelsa looked at him like he was crazy. "You nuts? It's below freezing out there and we have no idea where to start looking. We'll have to wait until it gets warm or - the phone rang.
"Got it." I sighed and walked over, answering halfway through it's third ring.
"OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH! YOU WILL NEVER BELIEVE WHAT I JUST FOUND IN MY FRONT YARD! I'M NOT SURE IF IT'S REAL, BUT I AM ABSOLUTELY FREAKING OUT! YOU HAVE TO GET OVER HERE! BOTH OF YOU! GET CHELSA OUT OF HER SHERLOCK DEPRESSION AND GET YOUR BUTTS OVER HERE NOW!" A male voice shouted into the phone, excitement thick in every single word. I heard quick breathing once he finished talking.
"Slim it Ethan." I replied into the phone. "Wait, sorry about that. I've read too much Maze Runner. Anyway, slow down and start from the beginning. I could barely hear you since you were SHOUTING." I shouted the last word myself for emphasis.
A deep breath came from the phone before he started over. "Okay, so I went outside to get the mail and I saw a TARDIS parked in my front yard. I tried to open it and found that it was locked. It looks exactly like the Doctor's TARDIS, and I'm not sure if it's a replica or if I have the best neighbor in the world. Now can you two just get your freaking little butts over here sooner than as soon as possible? Please? I think that my sanity depends on it."
Slowly a grin crept onto my face. "We'll be right there." I replied before hanging up. Then I turned to Chelsa and the Doctor. "We've just got somewhere to start looking."
This time I brought a coat with me when leaving the house. Though, to be honest, it was more of a jacket. His house wasn't far from our apartment building so we decided just to walk it. Every once in a while I looked at the Doctor, and the whole walk he was deep in thought. Maybe he would be willing to share his thoughts before he left. Or maybe he would be willing to let us be his companions, at least temporarily.
Ten or so minutes later we turned a corner and, sure enough, spotted a TARDIS sitting in someone's yard. A boy was standing there, nothing but a T-shirt and jeans, pushing on the door.
"Ethan!" We called. The boy spun around, his skin turning red from the cold of the falling snow. His green T-shirt was drenched, and his short brown hair was matted a bit suggesting that it couldn't be more than damp. He flashed a smile and his white teeth made his blue eyes pop for a moment.
"Karmin! Chelsa! Looklooklooklooklook!" He turned once more towards the TARDIS then froze. Slowly he turned around, eyes wide with wonder and excitement.
"No. Way. Are you freaking serious?! Are you kidding me?! Is this real life?! This can't be real. But oh my gosh!" His short ramble now over he ran full-pelt towards us. The last few feet he jumped, tackling the Doctor to the ground. After a moment he got up again and turned to us, leaving a now very confused Doctor in the snow.
"You guys punking me? Or is this really Matt Smith?"
The Doctor grumbled and stood up, brushing the snow off of his clothes. "This Matt Smith fellow is very popular in this universe, isn't he?" There was a bit of disdain in his voice, probably because he didn't want to be tackled again.
This time Ethan's eyes widened further and he actually squeaked. "Best. Day. Of. My life."
"So, this just appeared here this morning?" I asked Ethan, motioning towards the TARDIS.
He nodded. "Out of no where. Wasn't there last night."
A sigh of relief escaped the Doctor. "Then that means this is it." He began to walk towards his beloved time machine.
"Wait, whoa whoa. He lost the TARDIS?" Ethan asked us.
"Yep. With River inside," Chelsa responded while trying to hold back a grin. All three of us collectively laughed about the situation for a moment. Then our laughter halted suddenly as we heard the sound of a snap and the creek of a door.
All 6 eyes turned to see the Doctor entering his machine. Exactly a second passed before we all ran to get inside, fighting one another to be the first one in.
