A/N: Some of you may worry what I'm planning with the TMNT/Undertale crossover. I have the next chapter half finished, I'll just see when I'll finish it. I really hope to do that.

If you thought Shadow and Amy did the deed... sorry to disappoint, but they didn't. I realized I made it sound like that, but he teleported out of there before it could happen. All they did was kiss. I will make sure to emphasize that in this chapter.

Chapter title based on a song by The Rasmus. (I'm so clevurr hurk durk)

The basket was warm from its contents; piping hot chili dogs, freshly made, and tasty; all important components in lowering the risks of Sonic's divergence to her appearing before him.

In addition, Sonic would be surprised at the amount of makeup she'd used for their encounter; or lack, thereof. If Amy was going to successfully convince him she didn't have any clingy motives to meeting him, she'd show him she was a normal girl underneath that feminine layer. Considering how fast he is also visually, it would tell him right away what her intentions were.

She just wanted to talk. Nothing more.

Just as she'd put a blanket to conceal the warmth of her creation in the picnic basket, her phone rang. Indifferently, as she thought it was nothing important (probably Cream having lost Cheese again, and it would turn out he was perfectly safe and sound in a closet or something) she picked it up, having a few minutes to spare.

"Amy Rose's residence."

"Hello, Amy!"

The boyish chime was an all too familiar, and as of late, comforting tone to hear, and she smiled broadly.

"Hi, Tails. How are you?"

"You honestly think it's important how I am?" Tails answered, his tone a tad cynical and bitter. Usually uncharacteristic, but had become a rather current occurence in the last few weeks of talking to her. It took quite a heavy toll.

Amy sighed and rolled her eyes.

"Look, if you're gonna lecture me on your conclusion that I need to find a therapist, you can hang up right now." Amy didn't mean to, but her blood was inevitably raising in temperature, either from embarrassment of being such an open book to him, or just mere annoyance at his nagging. It was unknown to her, though.

"No, that's not why I called at all."

"Then what's on your mind?"

"I need to mentally prepare you." Amy's brow furrowed with apparent confusion. Before she got a word in edgewise, the fox continued.

"Sonic wants to talk to you... alone."

Amy nearly dropped her ability to breathe, and also the phone. Did someone heed her calls of help? Something higher? It was way too perfect. What had worried her the most about the execution of this plan was how to get Sonic to remain in place as she would try to explain her case. But now, it was handed to her on a silver platter, hers for the taking.

The female couldn't help but rupture into a silent squeal, smile broad on her lips. As if Tails had predicted (or maybe had seen) her little dance, his voice quickly caught an urgent note.

"Don't celebrate yet, Amy. There are things..."

Amy froze just midst her dance steps, ready to listen to the fox's following words with anticipation.

"... You know what? Sonic's gonna break it to you. Good luck." He spoke so quickly as though he wanted to quickly end the call, and so he did, before she could even comprehend what he'd said.

Now she stood there dumbfounded, as the long, interrupting tone sounded glaringly in her ear. The last thing she thought of was how rude it had been of him to just hang up without further ado, and was mostly anxious at the words he'd spoken before it.

As if the next step in a plan she had no part in, a knock went heard on her door. She needn't any of her senses but her gut instinct...

A hand clenched the phone handle firmly. Thinking of what Tails had said, but also knowing the presence of the one person who'd caused her excruciating heartache in the few past weeks.

I'm not ready for this. I'm not ready.

But she had to be. There was no choice. Mentality wasn't a speaking party in this matter.

A robotic nature took over her motions; she went and opened the door.

Sure enough... there he stood. Her blue hero. Her one true love. Her role model. Her all.

At least, he was supposed to be all these things. But that wasn't the feeling she had upon looking at him, as if it had vanished, or been replaced with something else entirely. Something undefinable.

"Oh, Sonic. Hi." His sheepish look wasn't mistakable; his entire expression radiated of uncomfort, feeling he had no business of being there. Amy disagreed with that notion.

"Hi, Amy. Look-"

"Come in." She interrupted, turning a heel immediately, not even staying to gesture him to enter. He assumed it was the closest he was going to get at this time.

It wasn't until they'd gone into her living room she realized he had been very anxious to tell her something, and still so as his gaze darted back and forth energetically, wanting to just state his business quickly. Also she was eager to know what he wanted to say, but she wasn't that an open a book. Unbeknownst to her, he had learnt that lesson the hard way.

"Amy. These days-"

"Take a breath and sit down first. Jeez." She pushed him down by firmly pressing a hand on his chest and shoved him down on her couch. "There. Start over. Get your thoughts in order."

Despite her harsh nature, he wasn't surprised, neither did he let it faze him. A deep breath was taken, and he began talking. Amy listened. That's all she could, and would, do.

"Amy. These past weeks... I feel guilt over. Tremendous guilt. I've been beating myself restlessly over having yelled at you that day, and first of all, I wanted to apologize for that. It was uncalled for and unfair on you."

''Oh, really?'' Came a snarky thought, but it was drowned in his following words.

"I mean it, Amy." He spoke, sensing her irritation in her obvious utterance. "My selfish ignorance wouldn't allow me to even notice how much you were hurting so bad. It wasn't until Tails gave me a wake-up call I finally grabbed myself by the loins and went to talk to you... pardon my vulgar language."

Amy had figured Tails would eventually tell him about her depression. They were inseperable best friends. It was of no surprise, and she'd prepared herself for the possibility, thus she wasn't as angry with him as she otherwise could've been over spilling her secret. She would still have a talk with him over it later, though.

"Please don't be mad at him, Amy," He read her thoughts easily again, "He was deathly worried about you. He didn't know who else to turn to about it. Talking to me was a pretty wise move... if I had known, I wouldn't have let this go on. I wouldn't have let you hurt yourself over what a jerk I had been. It was entirely my fault. You didn't deserve to be treated like that."

While it felt comforting to finally hear those words, she actually felt even more apprehensive over the prospective things he would say, of which Tails had subtly warned her about.

"I forgive you, Sonic," she said, both to mean it and to hurry the process, "I don't hold a grudge against you. I've thought about it. If someone had clung to me like that day in and day out, I would have eventually snapped too."

To cut to the chase, she trimmed immediately whatever he was going to say as soon as his mouth opened.

"Let's put that behind us now. Was there something else on your mind?"

The surprised look on his face was a solid given. It was clear he thought she was going to make a huge deal about this revelation, and see it going in a vastly different direction was nothing short of unexpected.

"Uhh, yeah..." What did shock her though, was the sudden blush appearing on his complexion. Come to think of it, she'd probably never in her lifetime seen him blush. This was interesting...

"Ehmm... er... you see... I know about what happened."

...What?

"Happened what? What are you talking about?" She genuinely didn't know, though she had a feeling she should. While wondering this, his eyes seeked to avoid hers by wandering along the red carpet.

"Shadow told me something... interesting."

"Shadow?" For some reason, her heart thumped an extra beat at the mere mention of his name. What the hell kind of business did Shadow have in their personal issues? What kind of business did he have with them, period? Honestly she didn't have a clue, the gnawing voice in her brain notwithstanding.

"Spit it out, Sonic! What did he say?" Slowly panic was setting in as whatever he was going to tell her, it was something she wasn't going to be particularly fond of.

Sonic seemed to wanting to turn away, but remained in place.

"About your little... make-out fling."

That's all it took.

The memories came flooding back at such an inhumane pace it almost knocked her senses straight out. The memory of her tackling Shadow, kissing him, him coming to her house, their little endeavors... She stared blankly at nothing, swallowed and perspiration cued with their appearance on her face. It was warm, and also very, very red.

Holy crap. It hadn't been a dream!

Those words echoed again and again, taunting her very wrong, misleading deduction. She remember it very clearly now, nothing vivid anymore. The confused look in his eyes, the curiosity, her wild, seductive behavior, wanting to be touched and to touch. The need. The flame. Her shamelessness and his cute naivety, which had only fueled her libido...

Not only that, but it had been Shadow who had made her feel those things, when she had thought it was Sonic! What did that even mean? Was she that shallow and promiscuous?

"Yeah... he didn't go into details, but that's how he summed it up." Sonic awkwardly broke the silence, not sure how he could further their conversation. For the last five minutes, she'd just been staring at the floor, strong blush apparent.

"Listen, Sonic... I don't, I mean... uhmm... I..."

"Amy, calm down, okay? I was very surprised, but I don't mind."

"...what else did he say about it...?" Came her question, even though she was fully aware she wasn't mentally prepared of any answers yet.

"You know how he is. Secretive. He simply said you kissed, and you did some odd things to him. He said he got weird feelings inside him, some urges, but I stopped him there. I didn't really want to hear about his encounter with you." An embarrassed chuckle, one that wasn't responded by Amy.

"Is it possible he didn't have any idea of what he was feeling? What if he had never felt those desires before? That it was his first time?" She offered her theory, which Sonic didn't share agreement on, and he made no secret of it.

"Come on, Amy, are you real? He's older than all of us. Are you saying that he never even once at least masturbated? Most people don't even reach their teens until their bodies act on their own." He held his hands out and shook his head in disbelief. A glare shot his way.

"He isn't just anyone, Sonic. He isn't like us, he isn't even of this world. He's an animal/alien hybrid. A science project. Who's to say he grows mentally the same way we do? Until I kissed him and then he me, I had no idea he was even capable of having such cravings. That wasn't even the purpose of his creation." All embarrassment gone, she went to simply bury her face in her hands with a different type of shame.

"Sonic, what have I done to him? He's already so confused about who he is, why did I have to go and make it worse because of my own selfish fantasies? I'm a terrible person."

Amy was surprised when she felt two arms wrap around her shoulders, and then heard a cough. He obviously didn't really know how to handle this situation, but she appreaciated that he at least tried to be a good friend. Perhaps he wanted to make up for the grief he had unknowingly caused her. A pat, and then his two cents.

"Now, Amy. You're not entirely held accountable. He initiated at least equally of the things you did, right? It takes two to tango. If anything, it gave him a better understanding of what he's capable of and who he is. You did him a solid, really."

Like hell she did. She didn't know the full details of what Shadow had told him, but she certainly knew that if he had even considered telling his rival about any of this to begin with, it was quite a red flag already how lost he was.

Sonic didn't mean to, she knew he didn't, but he royally pissed her off right now. Whether it was due to how little he knew about her escapades with his rival or that she just felt shame was quite a feat of itself to figure, but nonetheless, she didn't want to be near him.

She shoved his arms off of her, and turned her back to him. "I'm sorry, Sonic, but I want to be alone right now. Please leave me."

The sudden 180 caught him off guard. "Amy, what...? But I want to help-"

"Thanks for your apology. But please leave me alone now. I need to collect my thoughts." = I need to be away from you.

Out of guilt, she guessed, he obeyed without question. She didn't look back to him, but she heard the sound of the door closing.

Like a switch, tears began pouring out. All rationale gone, her thoughts consumed with nothing but hurt; acceding her mind vehemently. She had felt like shit for two weeks, and now she was the reason somebody else was feeling it too. As though she'd shared it with somebody else and there was no way of taking it back. Every step forward, and she was knocked back two.

Her brain told her no to her every motion, but they rebelliously steered her thought process. A knife on the counter glistening enticingly. Grabbing it with a shaking intensity. Rolling up her sleeve.

The chili dogs on the counter were getting cold.

"I told you, I don't need your help."

"You always end up getting it anyway. You know that."

An old familiar cycle; Rouge offering help, and Shadow turning her down. As much as he would never admit it, they were very much companions, and in the end, it was as she said; he'd reluctantly accept whatever she could bring to the table. That didn't stop him from doing his best to avoid it, though.

"Look. It's one thing if we're going on a mission together. It's quite another when it revolves around my personal affairs. I would like to do this alone." He spoke emotionlessly, hiding his irritation quite well. He hadn't noticed until recently how naggy and stubborn women can be...

"Why do you have such a problem accepting help?" Rouge quipped while giving a sigh. "You're behaving like a broody teenager. Not that it's new."

The black hedgehog responded to her sass with a snort.

"And you're behaving like someone who's trying to distract themselves from a quarrel they just had with their boyfriend." Shadow whipped back.

As expected, Rouge got miffed by this, almost pushing him over. "I'm not always fighting with Knuckles!"

"Yeah, right." He almost smirked at her.

"Grr!" She growled. Shadow innerly hoped it would make her storm off and finally leave him to his errands. Rouge however grinned evilly at him the next second.

"Because you're being a total dick, I will bother you until you accept my help!"

Damn it. He slapped a palm to his face, feeling a headache coming on. He had his own problems to deal with, he wasn't in the mood to hear her story about the millionth falling out she'd had with Knuckles. That's what he mainly was nowadays; a deaf ear she took the liberty to vent to.

"Okay... with one thing." Shadow gave in, ready with his condition, "I'm entering Eggman's. Unfortunately I can't reach the security facility on the second floor. Fly up there, break in, and turn it off. The alarms always piss me off whenever I break in, they blare all over the place. I would like some peace and quiet for once. If you do this one thing, can you then stop following me?"

"Absolutely. You got a deal." Directly afterwards, she opened her mouth. Shadow saw what was coming instantly.

"Please, don't. I don't wanna hear it." Couldn't she at least wait one minute until she unloaded all her frustrations about Knuckles on him?

"Hmmph. It's not like you would understand anything about love or relationships anyway. You don't have problems like that." The bat insulted as she began strolling forth.

He couldn't control his ears getting droopy at her words, a twinge of sadness evident in his expression.

I wish that was true.

I'll forever ship Knuckles/Rouge, guys. :P Sorry, not sorry. I don't hate Shadow/Rouge, I just don't see it personally. I'm neutral, because I can like it depending on the context. Most of the time, however, I see it as a platonic partnership.

I just love the idea of Rouge ranting about her problems with him to Shadow, and he'll be like: "SHUT UP, OMG I DON'T CARE!" (Always Sunny in Philadelphia ftw)

I really hope to continue this story... I'll hopefully write soon.

Top of the weekend to ya!
