JANE'S POV
Heidi was bringing a horde of humans into the throne room. The smell of their wet, beating hearts was burning me from the inside out.
One little bite won't hurt. My inner self told me, coaxing me to become what I dispised. I didn't want to become Jane Volturi. I wanted to stay the way I was.
Janea Arobella Saxon. The only DAUGHTER of a grieving widower whom was the jem and beauty of the town.
I bit into my hand even deeper, the venom stinging at my iron hard skin. I was so hungry. The thirst was inquenchable.
I got up off of my floor of my room and looked into the mirror. I was myself but I didn't feel like it at all.
A knock on the door made me snap out of my defensive state. I straightened out my blouse and jeans and went to the door.
Cynthia stood there with a kind, soft smile, "Hey are you okay? I smelt all the blood and figured you might need a distraction."
"Okay. What did you have in mind?"
"Have you ever played darts?"
MATT'S POV
"How are you and Leigh doing?" I asked Simon as he tossed on a white singlet.
We were hanging out in Lucas' room. Cynthia had gone out for a walk, Leigh was admiring her new hair and Lucas was in his bedroom cleaning up.
"Where good. I mean she seems to get pissed at me more than often lately but you know that's because where going through the whole 'no physical contact' thing," he replied as he scratched his head and sat on a bean bag.
"Really? Usually she understands."
"Yeah but usually I break that rule when we are alone. But this time I've blown her off everytime."
"Why's that?"
"I don't want her getting hurt because of our talents. The Volturi take everything they like and they have several ways of doing that. If they see we are together they'll do what ever they want."
"Well have you explained that to her?" I asked him.
"No. She kind of hit me," he replied.
"What? She hit you? Why?"
"I've been a dick to her. Only wanting sex and now it's like I don't want anything from her anymore."
I thought about this for a moment.
"Yeah that is kind of a dick of a thing to be doing. But she should see your side of the story at least. I think she might be scared of being here that's all and your not comforting her's probably just making her upset even more."
"I guess so."
Simon got up and grabbed a pool stick, handing it to me. I grabbed it off him when Cynthia came back...with Jane.
She looked very hot in casual clothing, but she looked distraught over something. I didn't care though. Why in the hell was she here again?
Didn't she learn anything after I threatened her?!
"What the hell is she doing here?!" I cried savagely.
Jane stopped moving and looked over at Cynthia.
Cynthia just rolled her eyes and locked arms with her, "Come on. Let's play darts."
JANE'S POV
"Darts?" I replied.
Cynthia smiled, "Yeah. What don't you know what darts is?"
I shook my head.
"We have a lot to catch up on then," she laughed.
I smiled and let out a small laugh.
Matt passed me and whispered into my ear, "Wipe that smile off of your face."
I felt it disappear as quickly as it appeared.
Cynthia and I played darts for a few rounds when Ashleigh came into the room. Her blonde hair now black and red.
"Princess Volturi's here again? Wow let's just go step out into the sunlight while we are at it," she sneered as she sat at the table and grabbed a book the coffee table beside her.
I didn't belong here. I knew that. But I just wanted some compassion, some comfort. I knew I didn't deserve it but I couldn't keep living like I was.
Then Alec came into the room with Rachelle.
