The 'terrible twos' were a horrible time with Leia and were probably going to last the rest of her natural life. The problem with having a smart baby was that she knew exactly when to play nice to make her parents happy. Her dads were easier—but Abby wasn't one to fall for big eyes and baby dimples.
"Why does she do what you tell her but not when we tell her to do the same stuff?" Connor sulked when the baby stopped playing in the toilet at her mother's command, after he and Eye Patch spent twenty minutes trying to make her do the same thing.
"Because she knows she has to. I'm not a pushover."
