Update (06/28/2018): Another chapter of reworking grammar and dialogue~ That makes it both easy and hard to edit since all I have to do is fix basic things, but that also means it's relatively boring lol

A Curse (and a Blessing)
—Skylar—

I cover my mouth to hide how much I'm trying not to laugh as Tohru stares at the orange cat in her hands.

"He… turned into… a cat…? But… he was a boy… a second ago…" she says, blinking. Without warning, she starts screaming, "IS IT BECAUSE I CRASHED INTO HIM!? I HIT HIM IN THE WRONG PLACE, AND HE TURNED INTO A CAT!?"

Shigure rubs his forehead. "No. Well, yes. Kind of?"

"We have to get him to the hospital!" she continues yelling, standing up quickly. "He needs medical attention!"

Too bad the Gods are against her, though, because a loose board decides to make itself known as it crashes on Tohru's head, making her clumsiness worse.

"Tohru?"

"Miss Honda!?"

The dog and mouse fret over her, ignoring the fact that she's falling into them.

Poof! They transform too.

A small, grey rat falls from the smoke, but Aly catches him before he can hit the floor, cradling him in her arms. "Are you okay?" she asks.

The little rat just stares at her, eyes wide, while the black dog looks to be grinning as he straightens himself.

"Mr. Sohma~" someone downstairs sings, adding to the chaos. "I have a delivery for you~"

Tohru scrambles up with the cat and races down the steps, nearly falling over herself.

All the control I have slips, and I burst into hysterics, giggling uncontrollably.

"Don't be mean," Aly scolds, thoughtlessly putting Yuki on her shoulder. Seriously—she's doing all of it without even thinking. I can tell because she doesn't even pay attention to the amazed and dazed (woo; that rhymed!) look on the rat's face.

"I'm not being mean," I defend. "I just think it's funny. This whole situation is great~"

"This isn't weird to you?" Shigure wonders, sticking his doggy face in between the two of us.

I tilt my head, pursing my lips. "Weird?" I parrot. "Kinda, I guess, but everyone has their quirks, right?"

"For instance, Skylar's is being callous," Aly grumbles.

"Hey!" I say. "Don't think I don't know what that means, you jerk!"

Shigure just stares, the wheels in his brain turning.

"Let's just go make sure Tohru's okay; that board hit her head pretty hard," Aly continues but stops. "Oh, crap! That's right! Yuki—" the rat on her shoulders stiffens "—Shigure—" the dog looks at her "—are you two okay?" she asks. "I didn't think about it because you didn't seem like you were in pain, but then I realized you could be if transforming hurts or something."

Shigure and Yuki stare at her with wide eyes without saying anything for a few beats, and I smack my forehead. "Ah, crap. You're right, Als!" I say, bowing lowly. "I'm sorry for not asking either. I guess I just got distracted by how Tohru was acting…"

"That's what I'm saying, Skylar; your too insensitive," Aly reprimands.

I sigh. "I'm sorry~ It was like the universe was conspiring against Tohru, though, and I couldn't help but laugh~"

"Don't worry," Shigure assures us, though he sounds off. "We're fine."

"Oh, good," Aly says. "Anyway, come on, Skylar. We'd better go make sure that orange cat is okay too."

"Yes, ma'am~" I say, trying not to grin at the thought of Kitty Kyo while I step past the dog, who's still staring at us with an indiscernible expression.

We get downstairs in time to see Tohru in heap on the floor, clutching the cat in her arms like he might disappear if she lets him go. The delivery boy—a guy around our age with dark hair and matching dark eyes—is standing in the doorway, watching her.

"Look!" she says, pointing at the dog beside me and the rat on Aly's shoulder. "They're all animals!"

"Why, yes, those are animals," he agrees, staring at her. "Does Mr. Sohma have pets now?"

"No… that's not what…" she fades off.

He's definitely scared of her, which only makes me chuckle more. "Anyway, that'll be, uh, ¥1,600—"

Shigure trots past me into the living room, grabs his wallet with his mouth, and comes back to hand it to the delivery boy.

He laughs. "Wow! What a smart dog~ Well, thank you for your business~" he sings as he slides the door closed behind himself.

Poor Shigure collapses on the floor, tail falling behind him, as Tohru slides back down on her knees, staring at everything with confused eyes.

"Great!" Kitty Kyo hisses, baring his canines. "How are we going to explain this mess now?"

How cute! Kitten rage!

"Don't blame me!" Yuki retorts with a glare of his own. "You're the one who got us into this, you stupid cat!"

"Say that again; I dare you!"

"Stu—pid. Cat." Yuki pronounces each syllable slowly, emphasizing them.

"Easy to be all brave when you're on someone's shoulder, you—"

"Stop it you two," Shigure barks. "It doesn't matter who's fault it is, and it's too late to do anything but tell them the truth." He turns to the three of us. "Ladies, I'm a dog. Yuki there—he's a rat. And the cat over there hissing in the corner is Kyo. Don't let his temper scare you—he just has a bit of a chip on his shoulder."

Aly tilts her head as Tohru looks at each of them. "So, this is normal?"

"Strange choice of words, but yes. Our family has lived with this curse for generations," he says matter-of-factly. "Twelve members of the Sohma family change into the twelve animals of the Chinese Zodiac."

Kyo growls.

"Right. Sorry. Twelve animals plus the cat," Shigure corrects, sighing. "Anyway, although we don't get any special powers, we can communicate to our respective animals, and when we're under a lot of stress—and, for whatever reason, when we're hugged by a member of the opposite sex—we transform. After a little while, we change back, but the thing is, uh, we—"

He doesn't have to say anything else. Quickly, I scramble over to Tohru, turning her around just in time for another poof.

"—we're naked," Shigure finishes.

I hear Aly squeak, and I laugh. I forgot Yuki was on her shoulder!

She rushes over to me and smacks my arm as the three zodiacs start rooting around for clothes.

Eventually, someone taps on my shoulder. "It's okay. You can turn around now," Shigure says.

"I don't know if I believe you," I mutter.

Aly laughs.

"I'm offended!" Shigure jokes. "Why would I, the most shameless person ever, try to trick you into looking at my exquisite body?"

I laugh. "Because it's you?"

"You can turn around now. Just ignore him," Yuki says harshly.

Aly tenses, caught off by how cold he is, and I internally sigh because we both forgot how much it bothered him when Tohru found out about the curse.

We turn around as he said, though, and, sure enough, they're all dressed.

Kyo's in the same outfit as before—loose-collared, black shirt with a pair of brown, combat pants—as is Shigure, with his usual grey kimono, but Yuki's wearing a white button-up instead, the dark blue pants contrasting his pale skin.

"At any rate, let's talk in the living room, shall we?" Shigure says easily, breaking the tension Yuki caused.

Aly and I nod, but Tohru's still a little confused, so Aly wraps one of her arms around her shoulder, looking at her. "Are you okay?" she asks.

Tohru blinks. "What?"

"A piece of the ceiling hit your head," Aly explains.

"Oh, I'm fine!" she assures her. "It just surprised me is all!"

"Oh, good," Aly says. "I was worried."

Tohru smiles. "Thank you."

"Any time." Aly returns her smile.

Shigure sits on one side of the table, and Yuki sits next to him. Instead of joining them, though, Kyo plops down outside, glaring at the greenery.

I'm the first one in since Aly's helping Tohru, so I take a seat in the middle of the table, leaving enough room for Aly and Tohru on either side of me. Aly takes the seat closest to Yuki, of course, so Tohru sits closer to the door, glancing at the angry cat every once in a while.

"By the way, Tohru," Shigure starts softly so Kyo doesn't hear, "you said you wanted to be the cat. What do you think now that you've met him in person?"

Amazing!

Tohru's eyes light up as she looks at Kyo with a huge smile on her face. "W-what's he like?"

Shigure laughs loudly, no longer trying to keep his voice down. "Kyo's an idiot!" he says easily. "He spends all of his time studying martial arts, but he didn't even know you were behind him! He should've at least sensed your presence, but here we are! I hope he plans on taking responsibility for this mess~"

Kyo shoots up, startling Tohru, and glares at Shigure. "Will you shut up? I told you it wasn't my fault; how the hell am I supposed to help it if someone sneaks up on me!? What's she—what're girls doing here anyway?" he hisses.

"Leave her out of this," Yuki says, moving a piece of hair out of his face. "Who we chose to live in this house is none of your concern. You're an outsider, remember?"

The anger was already building up in Kyo as soon as Yuki started talking—now, his shoulders are hunched, body shaking from how mad he is. Before anyone can react, he slams his fist into the table, snapping it in half like it's nothing.

As expected, one half of it smacks me, a splinter of wood embedding itself into my forehead. When the table slides down, it yanks the piece of wood out, making it bleed.

"Skylar! You're bleeding," Shigure says.

I laugh uneasily, rubbing the back of my head. "I'm all right," I try. "It's only a small—"

It doesn't help. Yuki's already in front of Kyo, pulling his hand back. With enough force to force Kyo's head to the side, Yuki backhands him.

I cringe at the sound. That has to hurt.

"I always knew you were dumb, but you've really crossed the line this time." Shigure sighs.

"No, seriously, I'm fine, you two. Just a little headache," I try again. My heart hurts, seeing that regretful expression on Kyo's face in person. It broke my heart when I saw it in the manga, but it's definitely way worse in person.

Yuki's ignoring me, though. "Today, just for your stupidity, I'll be especially serious and give you the fight you want." His smirk is dark. "Don't waste my time, Kyo."

"Just what I wanted to hear, Pretty Boy!" Kyo yells, attempting to side-kick Yuki.

"Yuki!" Tohru practically shouts in my ear, making my headache worse.

Shigure gently grabs my cheek with his hand, making me look at him. "Don't worry, Tohru. Their relationship has always been extremely bad—whenever they see each other, they fight."

"But, um, shouldn't we stop them?" she asks.

He chuckles, peeling away the wrapping of a band-aid. "No, it's okay. It'll be over in a second."

He puts the band-aid on my forehead as Kyo attempts to punch Yuki. Yuki dodges it effortlessly, though, and gets in Kyo's face just before he nails Kyo with a kick that sends him through the sliding doors and out into the patch of bushes just outside.

Yuki shoots Kyo one last glare. "I thought I told you to make it worth my time."

Tohru's in shock. "He… sent him flying…"

"Yuki, try not to destroy the house too, okay?" Shigure says.

"Well, I didn't think he'd go flying that far—he didn't have his guard up at all," Yuki says, shaking his head as he bends over and examines my forehead. "Are you okay, Miss Hayes?"

I smile. "I'm fine, but… Kyo…" I start, glancing at the cat sprawled out in the bushes outside.

"Oh, he'll be fine." A pause. "Probably."

Tohru stares up at him, amazed, though Yuki's too busy buttoning up his shirt to really notice. After a few seconds, though, she bolts up without warning. "School!" she shouts. "Oh, I'm going to be late!"

"School?" Shigure repeats. "What will you wear? All of your uniforms are covered in mud."

She's not listening to him. She runs up the stairs before he's even finished talking, changes, and comes right back down. "This one isn't too dirty; it'll be okay. I'll just tell everyone I fell." She bows to them quickly. "I'm sorry about this, but I have to go now."

"Yes, the promise to your mother~" Shigure says, rubbing his chin. "Speaking of promise, I'll have to tell Akito, the head of the family, about everything that's happened this morning. We did just give away the big Sohma family secret, after all~"

"The head of the family?" she repeats. "He must be very important, so I understand."

"Well, he is to us," Shigure says.

"Alright then, I'm off~" She waves, closing the door behind her.

Yuki leaves Aly and I alone in the living room, joining Shigure in the hallway, so we slink closer to the door to hear them.

"A little chatty this morning, weren't you?" Yuki comments. "You told them a lot about us."

Shigure looks at him quizzically.

"You plan on having their memories suppressed like last time, don't you?"

Aly actually shivers for the second time at how cold Yuki sounds.

Shigure sighs. "I have no such plans. Last time, there were too many people involved—we had to take steps. This time, it's just three girls, two of which can't remember anything as is."

Yuki turns away. "I'm going to school," he announces. Before heading upstairs, though, he peeks back in the living room, where Aly and I are pretending to be very interested in the interior decoration and definitely not listening in on their conversation, and says, "You could at least fix the roof, stupid cat."

Shigure sighs as he joins us in the living room too, ruffling his hair. He checks out the broken door, makes a face, and looks at us. "I'm going to the main house. Make yourselves at home while we're gone." He shifts his eyes to Kyo. "Do look after Skylar and Aly while we're gone, Kyo, and try not to hurt Skylar again, yeah?"

"Shut up," he hisses.

Shigure doesn't respond, just shakes his head and leaves, silence falling over us.

Welp. This is awkward.

Aly elbows me, nodding in Kyo's direction, and I shove her away, giving her a not-right-now look. Instead, I stand up and head over to the shoji door to examine it.

Kyo sits himself up right as I come close, a confused glare on his face.

I pretend like I'm not aware of him, though, staring at the broken pieces of wood and ripped paper.

They fix this stupid thing all the time, especially in the manga, but you can't really learn how to fix one just by watching an anime or reading a manga. Luckily, the amount of times they fixed the door made me curious, and I had looked it up after I read that Kagura had broken it for, like, the fifteenth time. I even asked my Japanese Culture teacher about it, so I had a rough idea what to do.

Aly stands up as well, straightening the kimono she's wearing. "If you're going to work on that, then I'm going to get a start on the kitchen. My goal is to get it clean enough to make a path to both the fridge and the stove."

"Good luck," I say absently.

She chuckles a little and heads to the kitchen.

I start searching for the paper they use to fix the door, but I don't know what exactly I'm looking for. Technically, shoji doors can be made with Japanese paper or with ordinary paper. Since Shigure strikes me as a mild purist (with his shoji doors and tatami floors and the copious amounts of casual kimonos he has), I'm pretty sure I'm looking for Japanese paper, but I have no idea where they put it—they never actually show the characters getting the materials in Fruits Basket; there's just a time skip and suddenly the characters have it.

Finally, with a sigh, Kyo gets up and heads into a small storage room I hadn't seen in either the manga or the anime, and pulls out a roll of paper.

"Here," he says, handing me the roll. When I take it, I notice it's thicker, sturdier than I thought. "I'll help you."

"You don't have to," I say, knowing he probably wants to go fix the roof. "I can figure it—"

"I said I'll help you," he snaps.

"Okay, okay. Geez," I say, sitting down.

He makes a face and opens his mouth like he wants to something before shutting it again and plopping down next to me.

—x—

"No, idiot, you have to use the barriers on the glue cap as a guide to keep it even," Kyo says. "Just give it here. I'll lay out the paper, and you can hold it."

"But you're taller than me," I argue. "I'll never be able to reach that far."

"Well, maybe if you weren't such a klutz," he grumbles.

"You're just jealous that I managed to find the extra paneling before you," I say.

He rolls his eyes. "You caught me. Now hurry up. I'd like to finish this before I die."

"Meanie," I mutter.

He chuckles—it's an exasperated, airy sound, and I love it. "What are you? Five?"

"Hmph," I pout, ignoring him as I continue gluing along the paneling.

Kyo pushes the Japanese paper along the wood, making it stick to the paneling, as I continue putting glue on it. Within minutes, we have the last of the shoji panels done.

"Now all that's left is to put it back along the hinges," Kyo notes.

"You're doing that by yourself since you're such a professional," I say, glaring playfully at him.

"Good," he returns, sending a smirk my way. "I don't need you messing it up anyway."

I stick my tongue out at him and go to retort when Aly clears her throat.

Both of us turn to her. The entire two hours Kyo and I were working on the doors, we hadn't heard a peep from her, so it kind of throws us off to see her.

"I have some soup ready," she says.

"Awesome~" I say, grinning and looking at Kyo. "Hungry?"

"I'm fine," he says, standing up. "I'm gonna go fix that damn hole in the roof."

"Alright," I say. "Make sure you eat later, though, okay?"

He looks at me, blinking, and I tilt my head. Instead of saying anything, though, he just shakes his head and trudges upstairs, face red.

Oh my God. He's seriously too freaking cute. I swear~

I know I'm grinning like an idiot as I stand up, but I don't care, heading into the kitchen like I'm on cloud nine.

It's still pretty messy in here despite how long she's been cleaning, but she managed to make enough room to move from the fridge to the counters, which is more than what it was before, so I have to give her credit. We'll just have to keep cleaning after we're done eating.

"Someone's getting along with the cat," Aly says innocently, pulling my eyes away from the clutter.

I roll my eyes. "Barely. It took him an entire half hour before he'd even say something to me."

She ladles hot soup into three bowls as she nods. "That's because he's socially awkward. You know that."

"Yeah," I agree. "But he's also really adorable, and I think my heart melts when he chuckles—just saying."

Aly laughs. "You're already lovestruck."

I snort. "I've been lovestruck since the third chapter of the manga, my dear friend."

She shakes her head, but she's smiling as she places the third bowl in the fridge. Grabbing a thing of green tea, we both head into the living room to eat at the table.

"I think it's cute," she offers. "I'm just worried."

I groan. "You're always worried."

"It's just…" she starts. "Well, I mean, you two were bickering, right? He and Tohru never bickered, so—"

"Aly," I interrupt, "we talked about this, didn't we? Enjoy the moment, remember? It's okay if we bicker. I bicker with everyone I get along with. Hell, you and I bicker. It's how my friendships work."

"So, you're not the least bit worried that—"

"No," I answer before she can finish. "No, I'm not, because I'm here, in Fruits Basket, with everyone, so, no, I'm not worried about anything except whether Akito's going to let us stay here."

She sighs. "That's fair," she agrees. "Not just one person knows—three people know now. I guess it just depends on how much Akito wants to torment everyone."

"And what Shigure's planning now that we're here," I add, taking a spoonful of soup.

Miso?

I raise an eyebrow at Aly, a little impressed, and she shrugs. "Remember that one time I tried making suimono? Well, I looked up a lot of different soup recipes, and miso popped up. It's actually really simple when you get the hang of it. Of course, all Shigure and them had was red miso paste, so it's a little saltier than I would've liked."

"I think it's perfect," I say. "I like red miso paste better than yellow."

"That's because you don't like the color yellow," she accuses.

"No! It's because I think it makes it too sweet!"

"Well, I like the creaminess it adds."

I take another spoonful, enjoying the potatoes and seaweed, before saying, "I think you nailed it with or without the creaminess of yellow paste."

"Thanks," she says. "I wanted to add some protein, but all they had was tofu, and I know how you feel about it."

I make a face. Tofu has a weird texture to me—feels like I'm eating a human brain or something—and pretty bland, so I'm not a big fan of it. "Thank you for sparing me."

"Any time," she says, laughing.

"You could totally get a job as a cook, though," I comment. "Even if we are in foreign territory here; you've nailed the flavors in this."

"I don't know about that~" she says bashfully, biting her cheek. Without warning, she looks at me. "Speaking of jobs, when are we going to look for one?"

I purse my lips. "I don't know," I say, thinking. "We can always do it after we take the entrance exam for Kaibara High. If my hunch is correct, then Shigure'll probably take us the same time he takes Kyo, so we could always just branch off and job hunt then~"

"That works for me," she says. "I want to get this kitchen cleaned before we go to school, though."

"Then let's eat and get started." I pause. "Re-started? Finished?"

She laughs. "I get what you mean, so just eat, dope."

I grin, doing as she says.

When we finish, we take our bowls to the sink and get re-started on the kitchen. Thanks to all of the work Aly put into it before, what takes the longest is sorting the trash, especially since neither of us can figure out how to sort it. I know they sort "combustible" (burnable) from "incombustible" (those that can't be burned), but I'm not actually sure which is which ("Obviously paper is burnable, but is that what they mean? Technically, can't you burn anything with a high enough heat? How hot are we talking?" Aly asks me, and all I can do is stare at her like she's grown another head because, like, they're good questions, but how am I supposed to know?), not to mention there's one more garbage can than I expect—which I should've, honestly, because it's "recyclables," and even America has that one. Since we definitely know which ones are recyclables, we start with that one.

"Curse you, 90s," I grumble. "If we were back home, we could Google it, but Google doesn't even exist until, like, 98."

"Pros and cons, Skylar, pros and cons."

"Pros: we get to live in a dream. Cons: for some reason, the dream doesn't include my iPhone or Google. I'm a bit upset."

Aly nods understandingly. "I have to admit: it's going to take some time getting used to not being able to just Google my questions."

"What did people do before Google?" I ask, thinking of the saying Googleness is next to Godliness. "I mean, like, I love reading, but am I going to have to get a book for a simple question like how to sort trash in Japan?"

"We can ask Shigure when he gets back," Aly says.

I sigh. "I guess, but we just keep getting more useless, you know? We can't even sort trash! Isn't that basic 101 of living in Japan?"

"I doubt it," she says, shaking her head. "I'm pretty sure the basics are speaking and reading the language, which we have down."

"Yeah, because the Gods may have a sick sense of humor, but they're kind at least."

"Are you just saying that because we're in Fruits Basket?"

"Maybe~"

She laughs.

"We're home~" Tohru's voice rings out, causing us to peek in the house.

"Welcome back," Aly says.

"How were you two today?" she asks politely.

"Good," I answer. "Kyo and I fixed the door, and Aly cleaned up the kitchen."

She smiles. "Do you need any help?"

"Well, we're having problems with sorting the trash, so do you think you—" Aly starts.

"Of course!" she says before Aly can finish. "I want to help out in any way possible, so I'm not a bother. Let me put my bag away really quickly."

"That was easy," Aly mutters.

I laugh. "She's far too nice~"

The door slides open again. This time, it's Yuki who steps in, a blank expression on his face.

"How are you doing, Miss Hayes? That stupid cat didn't do anything else to you, did he?" Yuki asks, examining the band-aid on my forehead.

Actually, in all the excitement, I forgot all about the scratch.

I shake my head. "Oh, no. I'm fine~ He actually helped me fix the door."

"I see," he says, face darkening. "Well, I'm glad you're okay."

"I'm home!" A loud Shigure says, practically materializing at the front door. "Yuki! Skylar! Aly! Tohru! I'm home! Oh, and let's not forget stupid-clumsy-Kyo-who-lost-yet-another-fight!"

I sigh. Is that really necessary, Shigure?"

Unsurprisingly, we hear Kyo's pounding footsteps as he stomps down the stairs and out the door, dropping onto the deck with a growl.

Shigure chuckles at him, enjoying his anger, and goes to the bottom of the steps. "Could you come down to the living room for a minute, Tohru?" he calls up before looking at Aly and I. "You two as well~"

We share a look, but do as he asks, heading back into the living room.

"Is something up?" I ask innocently as Tohru enters. "Yes?"

"Good news!" Shigure announces as Yuki comes in as well, leaning against the wall. "As long as they keep the secret, they can stay!"

"So, no punishment?" Tohru wonders.

"No punishment," he agrees. "But you three have to keep it a secret, okay?"

"Okay!" Tohru nods at the same time we say, "Of course!"

Next to me, Aly lets out a breath of relief, so I nudge her, grinning when she looks at me questioningly.

"There's one more thing," Shigure says. "He wants Kyo to stay here too."

Kyo whirls around. "What!? I have to live under the same roof as that damn Yuki!?" he hisses.

"Don't blame me; Akito's word is law."

"You've got to be kidding me! That damn Akito!" Kyo growls, turning back with a particularly nasty look on his face.

Tohru smiles. "That's great! We get to keep our memories!"

Aly tilts her head. "What do you mean?" she wonders, pretending like she's never heard anything about Hatori's suppression technique.

While she distracts Tohru, I creep over to the door to eavesdrop.

"He's trying to collar that stupid cat. I knew there'd be a catch," Yuki says darkly. "But to involve Miss Honda, Miss Marsh, and Miss Hayes… Are you and Akito planning something?"

"No, of course not~ Don't be silly! Really, Yuki, you should learn to trust people more!"

Just as I thought. They do have some kind of plan.

Aly catches my eye, and I nod. She simply shakes her head.

"Excuse me…" Tohru says, opening the door. The dog and mouse immediately stop their conversion, looking at her. "Um… It's strange to say this again, but I'm at your mercy. Thank you for taking care of me."

"Yeah, thanks~" I say, showing myself and bowing with Tohru.

Yuki puts his hand on his shoulder, turning red. "Yeah… Welcome…"

"I am in debt to you too, Kyo," Tohru continues, bowing at Kyo's back.

"Why should I be nice to anyone in—" Yuki kicks him, sending him flying through the sliding, shoji doors again.

Without missing a beat, though, Kyo shoots up. "I just finished fixing that door, you damn rat!"

"Fix it again," Yuki says simply.

"Maybe I will!" Kyo retorts.

I can't help but laugh at them, uncontrollable giggles coming out as the two bicker. Aly shakes her head as Tohru stares at them in mild disbelief. Shigure simply sighs.

BLAH BLAH BLAH:
Do you know how confusing Japanese trash is? Different cities have their own rules and divisions and colors that mean certain types of trash, and, like, wow. Talk about dedication. Also, for those of you who were wondering, the Japanese paper used on shoji doors is technically called washi (wa meaning "Japanese" and shi meaning "paper"). To keep it from getting too confusing, though, I just used the literal translation this time. Also, I kinda want shoji doors. Just...throwing that out there~

Happy reading, cupcakes~
